The 'cloven tongue' of Pentecost was real, but what many claim about it that speak it are in error.

Prior to the tower of Babel event, all peoples spoke just one language (most likely a form of early Hebrew). In Zephaniah, God said He is going to return all peoples back to that one tongue in final.

Acts 2 revealed that when the 'cloven tongue' was spoken, everyone... present heard not only in their own language of birth, and but in the very dialect of their region of birth.

So even if it sounds like gibberish to some, but to foreigners that are present hear them speaking in their language of birth, then that is a true manifesting of the 'cloven tongue'.

Yet, the 'cloven tongue' is NOT a separate language itself. Like the idea some call it a 'prayer language'. The cloven tongue is simply the one language that all peoples originally spoke prior to Babel.

IMPORTANT:
In Mark 13, Jesus forewarned that some us will be delivered up during the coming "great tribulation", and to not premeditate what we will say in that hour, but to speak what The Holy Spirit gives us to say, for it will not be us speaking, but The Holy Spirit speaking. Thus God is going to give the whole world a Testimony against the beast in that time, and ALL nations will hear it in their OWN language of birth.

A problem with many who claim to speak the 'cloven tongue' is that they have wrongly believed on the devil's false pre-trib rapture theory, and therefore do not believe they will be here to give that Mark 13 Testimony for Jesus. Christ's Church is not going anywhere before nor during the coming "great tribulation". Lord Jesus expects us to make a 'stand', spiritually, against the beast, putting on the whole armor of God so as to withstand the darts of Satan. Jesus even said the gainsayer won't be able to resist what The Holy Spirit will speak through us in that hour of our being delivered up to give that Testimony for Jesus.

Not only do I speak in tongues, but I also worship in tongues. Two days ago, I was at a combined prayer meeting leading the worship when the spirit of the Lord came on me and I began to sing in tongues. The people there also began to break out in tongues all over the hall and it was a glorious worship time. Tongues is not something I use often or deliberately, It just happens as the lord leads. joy:

Speaking in tongues are part of the miracles I have experienced in Holy Ghost churches. As a theologian these miracles have boosted my faith to understanding God at a higher level. Faith is a wonderful thing but knowing it and feeling it is amazing.

And it is the whole experience, at times you can see and feel the Holy Spirit move among the people. The feeling of the Holy Spirit. Whether it is speaking in tongues or God speaking through people and I have witnessed songs from Heaven. My son was healed of Crohns by the laying on of hands.

Some people have this communicative connection with God, remarkable messages. I have never spoke in tongues but I find them invigorating. It is really great when one person speaks in tongues and another repeats in English. Most tongues are the language of God, I have not seen tongues spoke in foreign languages.

It is all a wonderful thing to witness.

what verse supports this?

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

New Living Translation
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

English Standard Version
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Berean Standard Bible
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.

Berean Literal Bible
Now likewise also, the Spirit joins to help us in weakness; for we do not know the things which we should pray for as it behooves, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession with inexpressible groanings.

King James Bible
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

New King James Version
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

New American Standard Bible
Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

NASB 1995
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

NASB 1977
And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

Legacy Standard Bible
And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

Amplified Bible
In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words.

You get rid of tongues, but Paul says prophecy and knowledge will cease as well! Can't have your cake and eat it as well here.
This was supernatural conveyance of knowledge to edify the church. This particular knowledge ceases as all knowledge is found for us in completed scripture.

Let;s compare two verses

[Rom 8:26 KJV] 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

You say this verse supports prayer language. God prays for us what we dont know how to pray. It is groanings which cant be uttered, which means we cant understand these groanings.

Look at this verse

[1Co 14:14 KJV] 14 For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

Paul is praying aloud in an unknown tongue, which means the language he is praying in is not understood by his audience. Paul does understand what he is praying, which is not the case in Romans 8:26 so you cant say Romans 8:26 supports prayer language.

The lord said He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

I guess only the Pentecostal believe this.
Good for them.

The Lord is the same, Yesterday, Today, and Forever.

So, He was initially in Heaven, as "the Word".....John 1

Then He was born of a Virgin, as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin fo the world.

Then He rose from the Dead as a Lion, and a King, and is now our Heavenly Advocate.

Same Jesus.

Why just one scripture....

So, i'll give you another scripture, so you can have the context, vs, just posting random disconnected verses as you always do.

1 Corinthians 1:22

22 : For the Jews require a sign,

Now, insert the first scripture i gave you, in the previous post.. and let the Bible teach you.

"Tongues are for a SIGN"....and the "JEWS require a Sign".

Show me the verse that says all knowledge is now in Scripture.
