I answered you
I gave scripture........ there are no parts
Why not get baptized in water? Water baptism is not required for salvation, but when someone rejects the command to be baptized that's a different matter. When someone refuses to be baptized in water it's clearly SIN!

Mk 16 He that believes and is BAPTIZED will be saved!

[Mar 16:16 KJV] 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

I believe but dont require water baptism.....I am baptized by the Spirit......Paul says one baptism which is Spirit only

Water baptism was commanded to Israel not us.

For Israel water baptism forgave sins..........................
[Mar 1:4 KJV] 4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
[Act 2:38 KJV] 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

If as you say baptism doesnt save us from sin why do it?

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Now I praise you, brethren,
that ye remember me in all things,
and keep
(hold fast) the ordinances (traditions),
as I delivered them to you.'

(1Co 11:1-2)

Hello @Doug,

Yes, Paul praises the Corinthian believers for 'remembering' Paul, not only what he said, but what he did. He so lived as to be an example to them in word and deed. John did the same.

'Hereby perceive we the love of God,
because He laid down His life for us:
and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need,
and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him,
how dwelleth the love of God in him?
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue;
but in deed and in truth.
And hereby we know that we are of the truth,
and shall assure our hearts before Him.'

(1Jn 3:16-19)

* I ask myself if my life would bear the same scrutiny?

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
WHAT A lovely reminder . but it was not just john and paul .
EVERY one of them apostels KEPT that same ordinance , that same example .
THE ONE THE LORD JESUS HIMSELF had delivered for the church to keep .
THEY ALL preached that one same gospel , the very teachings of JESUS , the very words of TRUTH .
That one and same GOSPEL that JESUS HIMSELF had first preached and had delivered unto them
and later was given unto paul as one born out of due time .
IN Other words , MEN have lied to us my friend . AND BOY have they lied .
Pitting apostle against apostel , pitting even some apostels against CHRIST
claiming two gospel and who knows what else . EVERY WORD in that lovely bible
written and recored TO INCLUDE EVERY LETTER OF every apostel , OH ITS TRUTH ALL RIGHT
and it all APPLIES TO THE BELEIVER . WHETHER JEW OR GENTILE BORN . ITS ALL TRUTH AND WE SHOULD LOVE IT ALL TOO .

water baptism . WHY should we do it .
lets see
CAUSE JESUS had said to do so as did the apostels .
IN other words , THEY DID IT , WE DO IT . that simple .
AND OH YEAH i already know ITS FAITH IN JESUS that saved us .
But if our faith be in HIM , We had done as HE commanded us .
EVEN paul was water baptized and had water baptized some .
AND even when preaching the gospel
IF he did not himself water baptize , WHICH HE DID NOT ALWAYS , you can bet who was with HIM
did . THEY DID NOT omit being water baptized .
BUT THEY ALSO KNEW what saved THEM . FAITH IN JESUS DID . SO YEAH , DONT HEED THE RCC
and dont heed hyper grace and other junk either . JUST DO as they did . its real simple .

The question of what ordinances must be kept is not left to Paul’s words, but is made clear by the teaching of the Lord Jesus and His apostles. Jesus commanded, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you”(Matthew 28:19–20). Baptism is not a tradition of men but a command of Christ. Peter, following this command, said, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins” (Acts 2:38). The early believers obeyed this word, for it is written, “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized” (Acts 2:41).

The Lord’s Supper also came directly from Jesus, who on the night He was betrayed said, “Take, eat; this is My body”and, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matthew 26:26–28). Luke records, “Do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19). This was a command from Christ Himself, not an optional teaching of men.

The apostles continued in these same ordinances. It is written, “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:42). This shows that baptism, the Lord’s Supper, and the teachings of Christ were all kept together as part of the life of the church from the beginning.

Therefore, when Scripture speaks of ordinances, it is not about human traditions or private instructions, but the commands of the Lord that He gave to His disciples to be observed by all who follow Him. As Jesus Himself said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15).

Paul was not saying that the saints had to keep the ordinances of water baptism. the Lord's supper, or any other sacraments.

Paul was saying to keep his teachings and instructions.

Agreed

'And I said, Who art thou, Lord?
And He said, I am Jesus Whom thou persecutest.
But rise, and stand upon thy feet:
for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose,
to make thee a minister and a witness
both of these things which thou hast seen,
and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles,
unto whom now I send thee, '

(Act 26:15)

Hello @amigo de christo,

I missed this post, I'm sorry. hmn

You say that men pit apostle against apostle, and even apostles against Christ Himself, and claim two gospels among other things.
I do not think that this is the intention of anyone here.

As you know, when Christ Jesus, the risen Lord met with Paul on the road to Damascus, he told Paul that His purpose in doing so, was to make Paul both a minister and a witness, [(1) of those things which he had seen, and (2) of those things in the which He would appear unto him]. He was to minister both to 'the people' (always used of Israel) and 'the Gentiles', for the Lord assures Paul of His protection of him, in regard to both companies [see above].

*Paul goes on in Acts 26 to tell King Agrippa the subject matter of His ministering:-

'Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem,
and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles,

(1) that they should repent and turn to God,
(2) and do works meet for repentance.
.... For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
...... Having therefore obtained help of God,
........ I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great,

(3) saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
..... That Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first that should rise from the dead,
...... and should shew light unto
the people (Israel), and to the Gentiles.'
(Act 26:19-23)

* This is the content of the gospel that Paul had preached up to that time. It is limited to what was revealed by God through the prophets and Moses concerning Christ. This is 'the mystery of Christ' that was revealed to all the Apostles and Prophets of the New Testament including Paul, but was also the subject of the Old Testament Prophets who spoke and recorded the words of God concerning Christ, but did not understand it, for it required revelation from above: so was therefore a mystery or secret waiting to be revealed.

'Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently,
who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify,
when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister
the things, which are now reported unto you

by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven;
which things the angels desire to look into.'

(1Pet 1:10-12)

So, Paul's ministry was to both Jew and Gentile, and his ministrations reflected that. It was while in prison that God revealed unto Paul the further ministry that God had for him as 'The Lord's Prisoner', to make known 'The Mystery' (Eph. 3:1-3, 6-10; Col. 1:24-29) concerning the church which is the Body of Christ. This is made known by Paul both face to face, and by letter, and recorded in the letters to the Ephesians, Philippians & Colossians, and to Timothy, Titus and Philemon.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Water baptism was commanded only to Israel and remitted their sins and cleansed them to enter the kingdom. They will be priests in the kingdom and priests had to be washed with water.

They followed the doctrine of the twelve. The twelve and this church died off. We follow Christ thru Paul's doctrine and are members of the body of Christ which is not the same church as the kingdom church under the twelve

Hello @Doug, (@Davy, @Jack, @indentured servant, @LoveYeshua, @amigo de christo, @Grailhunter)

Paul was glad that the believers at Corinth were holding fast the traditions of truth that he had delivered unto them orally, when he was with them, these were in regard to their walk and witness (2 Thess.3:6), and not rites and ritual. This was tradition in a good sense, whereas the Lord Jesus Christ condemned those who transgressed the commandments of God by their traditions in Matthew 15:3, making the word of God of none effect by them (Matt.15:6). See also 1 Peter 1:18.

* Paul refers again to tradition in Colossians 2:8,

'Beware lest any man spoil you (How?)
through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men,
after the rudiments of the world,
and not after Christ.

For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are complete in Him,

which is the head of all principality and power:
.. In Whom also
.... ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,
...... in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
........ Buried with Him in baptism,
.......... wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God,
............ Who hath raised Him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh,
hath He quickened together with Him,

having forgiven you all trespasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances
that was against us, which was contrary to us,
and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;

And having spoiled principalities and powers,
He made a shew of them openly,
triumphing over them in it.'

(Col 2:8-15)

* Here Paul refers to the circumcision of Christ, and the baptism of Christ, that we have been identified with, in Him. We are complete in Christ Jesus: For the fulness of the Godhead bodily dwelleth in the Lord. We having died with Him in His death, and been raised with Him in His resurrection by God's reckoning. This is the operation of the Spirit when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, it is all of the spirit, not of the flesh, that none should boast . The flesh counts for nothing. We are identified with Christ by the Spirit. We are quickened (made alive) together with Him, and now walk in newness of life before the Father. Complete in Christ Jesus our beloved Saviour, Lord and Head!

Praise God!

In Christ Jesus
Chris
