ok, I will try to look at it again....fulfill might have more than one sense, maybe.
rem, the Gospel of Jesus Christ was told to us in the first word of the Bible. "Bereshit" (In the Beginning). Isa 53 (OT) one of the most beautiful renditions of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus is on every page of the OT if you look hard enough. have fun.

Well, you don't seem to be able to read my answers.

I have told you many times...The New Man is only allowed to bear fruit in a soul when the Old Man is crucified. Jesus is the New Man. NO longer I but Christ. Put ON Christ.

So not only are you claiming to be as righteous as God, you are claiming to be equal with Jesus in the inner man. I guess if you believe the one you fall for the other.

Do I see many here as still walking in the Old Man sin nature yet claiming to be justified AS IF that nature was crucified? yes. Name it and claim it.
The only thing I am "claiming", based on God's word, is that Christ in us is equal to Jesus in our new man. And that is what sanctifies us.

what king of theology is that?
I just corrected my typo. Maybe you would like to correct yours too, lol.

It's bible theology. Christ in us, the hope of glory. His Spirit, His righteousness within. Indescribable gift, thanks be to His name!

I agree...but was this meant for me, or were you responding to another post?

"his body" is interpretation, not translation.

2 Corinthians 5:10 LITV
For we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the things done through the body, according to what he did, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:10 YLT
10) for all of us it behoveth to be manifested before the tribunal of the Christ, that each one may receive the things done through the body, in reference to the things that he did, whether good or evil;

Much love!
The verse still refers to what is done in this life. whether that's through the body or in the body.

I'm not keeping up with everything, so someone might have already posted this. Quite sure it needs to be taken into account:

Jhn 6:28-29
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Believe as in cling to, rely on and obey.
A good word picture:

A Soldier Loyal to His Commander

Word Picture:
A soldier stays faithful to his commander, even when the battle is hard and the outcome uncertain. He trusts the commander’s plan and stays obedient — not just in words, but in action.

  • Why it works: Pistis also carries the idea of faithfulness or allegiance not just inward belief, but active loyalty. Especially in ancient Greek, and in the first-century Roman world, pistis often implied loyalty to a person (like a king or benefactor).

Yes, he keeps moving the goal posts. I truly hate to think of someone doing that deliberately and knowingly while claiming to know Christ, it won't bode well for them.
I am fearful for many now within christendom .
Not only did it keep moving the goal posts . IT has removed them
and now any kick is a goal . IT dont matter what one beleives anymore
so long as they have this worldy version of what they THINK is GODS LOVE .

THAT right there is the one thing more and more within christainity NO LONGER UNDERSTAND IS THE ONE WORK OF GOD
required for us TO BELEIVE IN to be saved and to work the works of GOD .
So allow me a reminder that was revealed to JOHN and he would write it down .
And let no man add to or take from that book .
And all UNBELEIVERS , the abominable , those who made and loved a lie , A LIE .
WILL have their part in the LAKE OF FIRE which is the SECOND death .
Now what does the gospel entail one must DO to be saved .
BELEIVE on JESUS CHRIST , that GOD has rose him from the dead
and to confess him by mouth , TO BE SAVED .
And what DID JESUS say about UNBELIEF IN HIM .
IF ye believe NOT that I AM HE you will DIE in your sins .
So if one comes along and gives the idea it was NOT necessary to beleive on HIM
GUESS WHO they call a LIAR and guess what THEY LOVE .
THEY CALL GOD A LIAR , THEY LOVE A LIE . lake of fire SISTER . lake of fire .
JESUS WILL NOT BE DENIED .

if you notice lots of people like to do the one thing we were not to do .
Always striving about words , always twisting things
BUT NEVER simply Believing what was written .
Look at how simple it truly is my dear sister .
THEY can come with pages upon pages of things , containing some truths and twisted things
THEY can sing a song all day with their many words and strifes of words
to make and to give any kind of reason as to why its not necessarily necessary to have had to
beleived on JESUS .
YET LOOK at how simple it is to prove them wrong . I can do it with a sentence , USING HIS OWN WORDS .
people run to greek non stop , they run on emotions non stop
they run to scholars , to cheat sheats prepared by their leaders or themselves .
AS FOR ME , I RUN TO GOD and Stay in the scriptures to learn .
many run to exegisis and hermeuntics
to etc and etc .
But if we notice all that wise sounding stuff
oh they do twist what is simple through it . I sure seem to notice it always agrees to THEIR DOCTRINES and beleifs
BUT NOT to THE DOCTRINE , JESUS WORDS and WHAT HE SAID . not looking good sister .
Many have become as the greeks , always seeking wisdom of intellectual men
many have become as the jews , ALWAYS seeking signs and wonders .
FEW THERE BE who follow CHRIST . Stay in prayer sister . And stay in the bible too .

FOR the greeks seek wisdom and the jews require a sign
BUT THE SHEEP PREACH JESUS CHRIST and HIM CRUCIFIED .
FOOLISHNESS to the greeks , a rock of offense , the stumbling stone to the jews ,
BUT TO THE BELIEVING JEW and GENTILE , SALVATION .
TIME to return to the bible , time to learn for ourselves ,
time to beleive as do a child the truth . Time to test all men

I can't speak to the finer points of Greek, but I believe that verse is speaking of faith (a living faith as opposed perhaps to a mere mental assent). The kind of faith that produces a changed life...fruit of righteousness. By works is faith made perfect.

Salvation is based on being in the Lamb's book of life is it not?........beyond that there are rewards and loss of rewards depending on our works, good or bad, which we will give an account for. To my understanding.

I agree brother.....I think checking into the original language can be helpful, but too much splitting of hairs results in losing the picture as a whole. Have to be careful of the carnal mind, it is enmity with God and so easily leads into mazes of man's thinking. Especially where self-serving agendas are involved too.

Every Christian should be doing good works.......or as Paul teaches.......its our "Service" to God. Rom 12:1 (KJV).

And where this becomes a false theology, and a false Gospel (LEGALISM).. is when the person does not understand that works are our discipleship, (service)...... but they are not our Salvation.

Our Salvation happened to us when we were born again......and that happened before we did any works for God, as all we were on our Salvation day was a SINNER needing to be saved.
So, we were saved without works..............based on "Justification by FAITH".

This is for those who have a very short attention span... God imputes righteousness without works just like He imputes righteousness by works. 2 things can be right at the same time.
Check out Phinehas and how he was justified by God...imputed righteousness for killing two transgressors.

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Think Phinehas did what he did without faith? Some might say he was obeying the Law to put the fornicators to death, but we know that the Law by itself could not save. Scripture says no one is justified before God by the deeds of the Law. Lots of Israelites were law keepers but without faith they were only nominal or cultural practitioners of the Law and not among those who "without us would not be made perfect".

The Phinehas story is about the zeal of the Lord when Israel was in serious error bowing for Baal.

Like Jesus cleaned the Temple of God, the zeal of the Lord.

I thought he said that it is God that imputed His righteousness and not something we impute to ourselves?
Epi doesn't believe that God has imputed His righteousness to us without works. Even though scripture PLAINLY says that. But in order to justify and try to prove his theology he presumes to take it upon himself unilaterally to re-translate parts of the bible. The verse I was referring to in my post was 2 Cor 5:21....we have been made the righteousness of God in Him. Epi thinks that is wrongly translated....of course he does because it would seem to disagree with his theology.

If we simply believe and accept what is written about imputed righteousness Epi falsely accuses us of imputing it to ourselves.

And just for the record I do not agree with OSAS and I do agree with a holiness walk in principle, but can't accept that it is possible to walk holy, in the Spirit, without the FOUNDATION of the gospel being in place.....His Spirit and nature within the believer, which of course includes His righteousness.......because the bible says our new man has been made after the image of God, who of course is perfect and holy and righteous.

I agree.

There is one passage I'm aware of that gives us specific information concerning the judgment of the body of Christ, in,

1 Corinthians 3:11-15 KJV
11) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12) Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13) Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14) If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15) If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Can you think of any others?

In this one, the issue is what we are using as we build on the foundation of Christ. The surrounding context concerns those who create division in the body of Christ.

Much love!
