So frustrated at sin right now - stop sinning the old sin, sin the new sin?

Hi there,

So I am really frustrated and I think its to do with sin. I get that the Holy Spirit gives us a desire to be godly and its wise to wait for the opportunity to be godly, as the opportunity arises. I get that being ready for this, means repenting of whatever comes to mind (as the spirit leads). The Devil (I can only guess) leads me astray and says "no matter how you repent, you are always going to be guilty of something else" and I look at myself and I think "you know, the Devil might be right: no matter how much I repent, there always seems to be something else I am guilty of (an anti-Christ?)". What I want is a conviction of "these are the sins that are relevant to your Cross, repent for these and your path will be smoother"? But is the Holy Spirit ready for me to move forward, I think I have to "by faith".

In relation to repenting, part of me (or the false prophet?) tempts me to think if I just had a new heavenly body, like we get at the rapture, then what I was repenting for would be in evidence - like you join the army, but you don't think "I need to keep wishing I was in the army" you have the uniform! I guess that is what putting on the "armor of God" is about (that makes sense now) - what is making sense to me now, is that you don't just polish the brass for presentation, but the boots that get dirty doing the work. That's really where I need prayer: I need to believe the Holy Spirit knows where I am headed, what its going to cost and what I can't afford to ignore.

I feel better having typed this out, but please pray. I think even pray for missionaries, who forge ahead with or without questioning that its what God wants at all. Life's lessons are so much easier when they are given context - for that we have the Cross - when we don't doubt our sacrifice will be remembered - for which we have God - and when we are not trying to do everything in our own strength - for which we have Wisdom. I guess the reality is that the Holy Spirit does what He is ready to, though He will hear our petitions for greater, if we have them. We do not get to push the Holy Spirit around!

If there is one thing I would pray: it would be a greater relationship with the Holy Spirit. I think the whole world is possibly crying out for that, at the moment. All this worry about success or failure, would just disappear if I knew what pleased the Holy Spirit and how or in what way or whatever. Thanks for listening.

God bless.

if I knew what pleased the Holy Spirit and how or in what way or whatever.

What pleases the Spirit is what pleases Jesus and he said, ' If you love me, you will obey me. '
Basicly live for Jesus, acknowledge that one will fail and keep repenting, getting up and trying again.
