I’m OK with you being worried. I live a purpose driven life and have my priorities. I put the right to life - and defending that life and cultural liberty and honorable lifestyle - at the very top. The very top!
Jesus didn’t....and neither did all the martyrs who died victorious because they refused to disobey the Christ.
Peter’s words explain what our responsibility is, and how we should view it...it is the complete opposite to how you view things.....
1 Pet 4:12-19....ESV...
“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.”
Was Peter “over spiritualized”? Did he reflect Christ’s teachings or man’s?
What is the “test” of our “Christianity” Wrangler? To give into slaughter as a first response to attack? Or was the real test to maintain our peace and refuse to give in to emotions as a reaction to what Satan’s world brings upon Christ’s disciples? How is it a victory if we respond in kind? We have descended to their level and God has disappeared behind the weapons in our hands.
You misquote Scripture to justify what Christ told us not to do.
The “swords” that Jesus told his disciples to buy, were to illustrate a very important principle....that though they were armed, they would refuse to resort to violence. Peter was very impulsive by nature and so allowed his emotions to kick in before Jesus had a chance to explain....which he did once he had healed the ear of the man he attacked. Jesus reprimanded Peter and told his to “return your sword to its place”.....”those who take up the sword will perish by the sword”. Replace the word “sword” with any weapon....it’s still true.
In telling his disciple to buy swords and that “two” was “enough”....was Jesus actually expecting two swords to combat an armed mob? It would have opened up the way to wholesale slaughter. Think things through, because it is apparent that you see everything on a surface level. Christianity is not superficial...it requires a depth of character that is reflected in Jesus and in the apostles after his death. One that required actions that did not involve retaliation. (Rom 12:17-21)
In the Roman arenas, Christians were offered a way out of being eaten by starved lions....all they had to do was put a pinch of incense on the alter as an act of worship to the Emperor and they could walk free. They were in that arena with their children as an extra incentive to compromise......but they refused......why?
What kind of courage are we talking about here? The kind that trigger happy war mongers will never understand.
I’m sure the over-spiritualized will reply with a language I don’t speak, like proselytizing on their spiritual priorities. At John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. Following him is aligned with my top priority.
He also said to buy a sword. This too aligns with my top priority.
His top priority upon his return, is to eliminate enemies with extreme prejudice. This too aligns with my top priority.
His God, YHWH, is a warrior and we are made in his image, given dominion over the Earth. This too aligns with my top priority for in this world, there is only peace through strength, military strength.
It is only when the civilized retain the capacity and willingness to militarily defeat the barbarian does civilization live, endure, survive, is sustained.
You see that this response is from a man of flesh, not spirit. You have to fight for God when he never asked you to.....neither did his son. If the god you worship needs you to fight his battles, he’s not much of a god.
Being a passivist, you probably put no value in cultural liberty and noble lifestyle, what I value MORE than life itself. As an American, we value our life less than our liberty and honor.

You know, I shake my head at statement like this.....you live in a nation (as I do) that values freedom, but in the big picture when have any of us lived in actual freedom? We have been slaves to satan’s world all our lives ...the “freedom” he has given to many is an illusion.....we slave for our masters and we have been conditioned to do as we are told. The masters get the reward and we get to work our guts out to please them and keep our jobs....and maybe we will get a bonus that will cover the cost of Christmas if we are lucky....
I refuse to compromise my faith to preserve the devil’s world system in any way that will violate Christian principles......we are to live “in the world” as Jesus did, but we are to be “no part” of its governance or lifestyle. We are to work for a living...not to finance a lifestyle. Our efforts and rewards are spiritual not material....these are the “treasures in heaven” where our spiritual bank is located. Where are your deposits going?
If our priorities are right, we won’t be slaving for the wrong masters.....and with the wrong remuneration.
