It would seem obvious that the gospel is intended to evangelize the lost.
I'm not so sure.
The conversion experience does not require a solid understanding of doctrine.
A new convert need not understand the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
That understanding will come later as a part of their spiritual growth.
Agree or disagree?
Is repentance enough to renew a relationship with God?
Or is more required?
Is the gospel for the saved or the unsaved?
