That is not at all what I'm saying. I said these things are very important to learn, they should be taught to the babes in Christ. Doctrine DOES matter. So you are saying that someone must have all their theology right before coming to God? That God refuses their pleas for help and salvation until they've done a Bible study, and come to all the correct conclusions?
I know that I had no understanding of the Godhead, and after 50 years as Christian, relatively no closer to understanding God than when we first met. But I knew my need. Forgiveness. Love. Acceptance. A new life. God gave all those in one night. I've spent the last 50 years learning to love Him and know Him better.
I had a Catholic understanding of Christmas and Easter before asking God into my life and making it something He can approve of. All I knew at the time was superficial ritual and fluff. So no. We don't need to fully understand the birth, death and resurrection of Christ. Just asking Him into your life and believing He's alive says everything don't you think?
I said people need to know these things, NOT people need to know these things BEFORE COMING TO GOD. Please don't put words in my mouth.
