We have the windows covered and are plenty warm. Just mending things. And started making a broom with a retired pool stick.

You have got more chance for snow than me Pearl, as for a blizzard , haven’t seen one of those since 2010 !
Apparently they are expecting ‘ The beast from the east ‘ to hit the U.K. next week, but they keep saying it’s coming this way and all my forecast says is rain !

The Pommy cricketers out here in Australia are wishing/praying for a blizzard to help them save some face in the 40+°C temperatures in which they are playing. Perhaps the blizzard with get them a draw.

We are supposed to get some drizzle starting December 23. Even rain that I love is rare here.

We Seldom see it that cold where I am, maybe minus 3. When I was growing up it was always below freezing in the winter and we would get loads of snow and icicles and blizzards - it was normal from November to March. The seasons were more defined and we use to have brilliant summers as well. Not sure when it changed but now the seasons are a bit unpredictable. It’s very mild for winter here at the moment.

Pretty mild here, too. The coldest it is supposed to get this week is today at -10 and then get up in the 20s, which is relatively warm around this time.

We waited for the blizzard and the wind blew pretty hard, but it really wasn't anything to write home about.

I'd love to see the newfangled broom! Since August, Ive moved from Western NY to North Carolina. I'll try to attach pics from last winter from there. I've got lots more! I miss the beauty but not the frigid temps and walking (falling in it, lol) in it or driving in it anymore.

To me it is only cold overnights (although last night's low temp, overnight was 55 F.
Some early mornings can be in the 20's or 30's but...the frequent sunshine makes up for that!

We had some snow the week before last. Our new puppy, Cerberus the Hellhound, loved it.

I remember the blizzard of '99. We got 19 inches (about a half meter) of snow. That completely overwhelmed our infrastructure and paralyzed us for two weeks. There weren't enough snow plows available, so the DOT had to press road graders into service in order to keep the major highways open. The secondary streets had to just wait until the sun came out and melted it. (God put it there; God'll just have to take it away Himself. That's how North Carolinians handle snow.)

And the clerk at the Ace Hardware laughed at me when I bought a snow shovel a week before it hit. Hah! I was the only one on my block who had one. I used to make money as kid back in Colorado shoveling elderly folks' walks and driveways; this time, I made shoveling snow a one-time ministry.
