God is fully capable of protecting His people when bringing wrath upon unbelievers. He has done it many times in the past. When it comes to the final wrath of God when Jesus comes and the earth is burned up (2 Peter 3:10-12), we will be changed to put on bodily immortality at that time and caught up to meet the Lord in the air so that it can't affect us.

Hello? Believers are in Christ. If someone isn't in Christ then they aren't a true believer. Even the demons believe and they tremble, so any kind of "belief" that doesn't make someone "in Christ' is meaningless.
