How would you answer?
Did Jesus say that he was the Messiah?
Of course he did:This question seems to be all the rage at the moment.
How would you answer?
Did Jesus say that he was the Messiah?
Definitely! Remember that "Christ" is the Greek translation of the Hebrew "Messiah." At His trial before the high priest, we have this interchange between Jesus and the high priest:This question seems to be all the rage at the moment.
How would you answer?
Did Jesus say that he was the Messiah?
Unambiguous Affirmation at His Trial: When the High Priest asked him directly under oath, "Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God," Jesus replied, "You have said so" (Matthew 26:63-64), which the court understood as an outright affirmation. This question seems to be all the rage at the moment.

Perhaps even if Jesus acknowledged it, most people would still not recognize his identity, just like the majority of today's Israeli Jews.Agree.
But Jesus did not announce (say) that He was the Messiah.
Only affirmed. Although in a non-affirming way. "You have said so"
This is the closest example I have seen.Perhaps even if Jesus acknowledged it, most people would still not recognize his identity, just like the majority of today's Israeli Jews.
Poor descendants of Israel! They always want to rely on their own will and search for the Ω Messiah according to their own desires. This is the closest example I have seen.
In Luke 4:21, after reading Isaiah 61, Jesus declared, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing," a statement the crowd understood as a Messianic claim.
Then they tried to throw Him of a cliff.
I seem to recall that there was no consensus on their part about what Messiah would look like.Poor descendants of Israel! They always want to rely on their own will and search for the Ω Messiah according to their own desires.
matthew 22:21I seem to recall that there was no consensus on their part about what Messiah would look like.
Savior or warrior?
Surely Jesus was not telling His hearers (or us) that they could be redeemed by paying taxes to Caesar and living in a communist society. He was specifically answering a question posed to Him by the Pharisees:matthew 22:21
They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
Jesus has already pointed out the way they need to be redeemed.
All they need to do is pay taxes to Caesar, and then live together as a unified entity in a "communist" society in an orderly manner.
The Acts of the Apostles
2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
But unfortunately, history chose the brave ones. They fought against the violence of the Roman Empire with violence, but the outcome was only death - no redemption, no messiah.only warriors ......
communisticSurely Jesus was not telling His hearers (or us) that they could be redeemed by paying taxes to Caesar and living in a communist society. He was specifically answering a question posed to Him by the Pharisees:
(Mat 22:17) "Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
They weren't asking Him how to be redeemed. His answer:
(Mat 22:19) Show Me the tax money." So they brought Him a denarius.
(Mat 22:20) And He said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?"
(Mat 22:21) They said to Him, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Nothing about communistic societies, nothing about redemption.
I don't think I was being paranoid, nor was my main point to do with the use of the word "communism". The point I was making was to answer your statement that all the Jews had to do to be redeemed was to pay taxes to Caesar and have all things in common. I was pointing out that Jesus was answering a question from the Pharisees about paying Roman taxes, not telling them how to be redeemed. Apologies if my post was unclear.communistic

The Jews have chosen their own path. What has happened in history cannot be changed. What needs to be changed is the present.
You merely saw the word "communism" and didn't take the time to carefully read and understand what I was trying to convey.
You are such a paranoid.
You still don't understand what I mean.Jesus was answering a question from the Pharisees about to pay taxes to Caesar and have all things in common. This is kingdom of heaven. Only human beings falling for money.

So you don't have a God nor a Messiah? Why are you here?Did Jesus say that He was the Messiah?
No.
Of course, it wasn't something that Jesus himself claimed. It was the Bible's prophecy and God's declaration that he was the savior and Messiah.Did Jesus say that He was the Messiah?
No.
Jesus kept it hidden for a time, that He was the messiah he first told the 12 but yes he did confirm many times. Also we have to remember the prophecies that he fulfilled and all the witnesses, these alone proclaim he was the messiah. and they spoke loudly.Agree.
But Jesus did not announce (say) that He was the Messiah.
Only affirmed. Although in a non-affirming way. "You have said so"
