It's not that he is merely hypocritical about something he's not thought through. He's fanatically devoted to over-spiritualization, life ending pacificism, and living by inverted moral poles, categorizing laziness and cowardice as morally superior to those who take responsibility for their own lives in using violence to protect it when necessary.

The Holy Land was Christian in the first place so its still defense for the Crusaders.

Same as the Iberian peninsula. It was Christian in the first place so re taking it was still defensive.
