It is worldly to go on and on about the objects of bread and figs and temples, when the subject is Christ. Object vs. Subject. Simple enough. And you can spot them even here on Christianity Board. Look for them. Understand just where they're coming from--understand that they themselves don't even understand.

Even every prophetic future event. Is God Himself really going on and on about worldly things? No, but heavenly. And yet you see these sort of lessor riddles being preached here too. So worldly. So sad. Such a disservice actually.

Everything written points to God--whatever it seems to be about--but God speaks, and the scriptures are written, in parable fashion, as so many object lessons, mostly not about the object, but having a completely different subject. On earth as it is in heaven--yes, that is a prayer and a promise--but only given here in likeness. It's a form of teaching--teaching children. But the riddles are already given, given that we might learn what God is really getting at--not that we should imagine and elaborate great worldly fulfillment. If that were the case, Jesus would have prayed "On earth as it is on earth."

Meanwhile, such teachers of the lesser riddles should be understood for what they are, and avoided. Seek God--not the object fulfillment of worldly examples.
Good morning, Brother Scott. Great post, pheartprywpryw, Love always, Walter

As I have said already, I quoted you (lying). Your own words are enough. I said that too.
Like I said, you are just making accusations without backing it up. I didn't lie to you. Or about you. That's your defense, but not in truth. You double down on it, but without substance.

This seems to be a virus on this forum, all too many members do this sort of thing.

Scott, it doesn't have to be this way.

Much love!

By the same measure you use (declaring your own words as quoted to be "without substance") it will be measured back to you.

Did you think such words from God were said in jest? They were not. God and anyone who cares to read of it, knows what you said. The matter is in His hands. It is enough.

This could be a simple thing but you will not allow that to be. That's on you.

You're offended. That too is biblical. But you are defending that which is worldly and those who do the same.

Meanwhile, no, Jesus is not returning physically any more than the temple should be thought of as being built of stone again.
Well as the bible says you are of the antichirst because you deny Jesus will physically return

1 JOhn 4:3

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Because "come" is 2nd perfect, accusative, participle, it is better translated in English as "coming". Jesus promised He would come back and He will.

These are all real and historic events that we can learn personal applications from, but not to the diminishing of the events themselves.

These are all real physical future events that will take place, and we can leanr personal lessons from these as well without diminshing their realities.

I urge you to repent of your denial that Jesus is physically returning. God explicitly says the spirit in you is the spirit of antichrist!

Let me ask an earnest question. What do you believe is required to avoid the lake of fire and spend eternity with Jesus in heaven?

Because you misunderstand you also wrongly accuse me.

On the contrary, I do not at all deny that Jesus "came" in the flesh. You lied--and it is you, not me--who denies that Jesus is "come" in the flesh. On the contrary--I say that He also "is come!" But you obviously do not know the difference--not unlike most of Christendom. And yet, there it was clearly stated all along. :(

What John said of the anti-Christ and Jesus "is come"--was (present tense) after the cross, not before. Not shall come as you believe, but "is come." In other words, Jesus "came" before going to the cross, and it is only after He ascended that He "is come" in the flesh--which by definition, means He returns into the flesh of His body--saying "Take eat this is my body" symbolizing His giving His body to the church; and "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."

"Take eat", "dine"--by no coincidence--the words are the same. But you did not hear or see what the Spirit said to the churches.

And therefore, here we are again, not unlike Israel--wrong and accusing. For which I also pray, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."

You really suck at being a mind reader and pretending

to know what I do know and Whom I know

.Because you are so busy rewriting the Word of God to make it the word of Scott A. you betray your lack of biblical knowledge. Johns letter without ambiguity

1 John 4:2
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

1 John 4:3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Both "comes" are 2nd perfect active participle. And in English- a participle verb is best translated as coming. You are wrong.

By denying Jesus physical return as clearly spelled out in the Scrptures without ones personal reinterpretation, you deny the word of God.

Repent lest a terrible thing fall upon you.

Isn't this about the strongest way in Koine Greek to say that Jesus came in flesh and continues in flesh? Perfect tense, once done, remains done; active participle, continues on?

Much love!

That is not what it says.

It is not written "physical return"--that's not biblical.
It says, Jesus "is come"--not "came", not "will" or "shall" come. You quoted it--no excuse. "Coming" works, because that allows for present tense as "is come" indicates--"is" as in "now" during the time John said it and it was written.

And your idea and belief that Jesus "physically returns" would make John wrong. If that were true, he should have said Jesus "went" in the flesh. Which is a continuation of the error of believing that Jesus entered heaven physically--which scripture says "cannot" happen. So this is strike two for you. That's how lies work: once you tell one you have to keep lying to support the original lie. I am sorry you believed the "lie" that was told and taught. But none of that is actually true, not even biblical. As lies go, it is indeed the cause of "strong delusion."

Meaning you should take your own advise and repent.

Now you sound like a Jehovahs Witness.

Jesus physically rose from teh dead and physically ascended into heaven just as SCripture says.

Jesus said He would return.
The angels also said Jesus would return in the same manner He left- physically and visibly.

John in REvelation says every eye will see HIm.
Jesus gave signs in the Olivet discourse that precedes people seeing His return
John in Revelation sayds Jesus physically returns with teh hosts of heaven to battle the antichrist who is a real physical person.

NJo Scott, you are so used to rewriting Gods Word through your mysticism to make it the word of Scott, you have forgotten God has no need for you to edit His word and "fill in the blanks".

Once again you have joined the company of such infamous people as Charles Russell, Jospeh Smith, Jim Jones. Mary Eddy, David Koresh, Father Divine and sun Yung Moon.

Mark, if you are rightly dividing the word of truth, that is not the case. That would cause contradictions that simply are not there. Literary rules do not make void the biblical fact that the flesh returns to the dust and is dissolved with these elements of the earth.

And when Jesus comes again, will He not still be in the flesh? Certainly not as we are presently, because we shall be changed into whatever body He has, but a body nevertheless, just as He offered Thomas to touch... same body that ate with them on the beach... and will eat with us all at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Eating, touching, that tells me a physical body but having attributes far beyond what we presently appreciate our understand.
