“Kindness is not a weakness but a courageous choice to meet the world with an open heart, extending understanding and compassion even in the face of indifference or hostility.” - Henri Nouwen

Anyone else getting this vibe? @Armour of God @Ziggy @Debp? Commanded to lead, being nice so everyone is comfortable all the time leads no one.

Jesus told religious leaders to their face what for, which is not nice. We are not called to be nice but righteous. Thoughts?
I love it!

Now, if we could just apply that to the doctrine presently being taught within the church...which is ultimately more important.

I’ve never spoken with anyone who thought Vlad the Impaler was nice.

A serious question: Is anyone here - besides @Wrangler (please see his companion thread titled “God Commands Righteous Violence”) - interested in raising their sons to become Vlad the Impaler? (He is being presented in that thread as a Christian role model.)
I have not watched his other videos, but this one is right on--righteous.

“Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.”

(Proverbs 21:21)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”

(Galatians 5:22)
And that is where and why, the nice half-doctrine is justified by many. So, your tit, for his tat...doesn't really accomplish anything...well except support his claims because he also listed both the nice and the righteous, not just the nice.

Watch the other videos @Wrangler is posting, listen to his commentary on them, and then go with him if you agree with his claims.

There is a valid niceness that Christian should exhibit, in contrast to cruelty, egotism, not caring about others.

Of course, and that is what he also said. But his point was that niceness is only half. Do you agree that Jesus expressed both and was not just nice, therefore we too should not only be nice?
