What is a Data Center?

We're in an AI arms race, and AI data centers are a double-edged sword. On one hand, they require a lot of resources, and AI can be used for nefarious purposes. On the other hand, if we don't develop AI, other countries, like China, will dominate us. But for the first time in history, we have the ability to track and monitor every person on the planet 24/7. That's an awful lot of power, and the temptation to misuse it is great. Ultimately, I think AI will be part of the beast system.



So, basically a god, and people will start treating it as a replacement god. Some people actually want that, and that is the danger. There is also the concern we could become too dependent on AI. We could basically become like the Eloi in The Time Machine. We're going into uncharted territory here, and there are legitimate concerns where this technology could lead us.



How would we truly know if it were self-aware? Consciousness is subjective by nature. But I think it could get to the point where it would be impossible to distinguish from simulated self-awareness or actual self-awareness.



Even if it could do a better job, what would be the cost? We could become entirely dependent on it. Or it could decide it doesn't need us anymore, or worse yet, it would be better off if humans didn't exist. We're dealing with the rule of unintended consequences here.



Good luck with that. There's no way to keep that genie in the bottle.

Well my world is small. It's just me and dad. He's home hospice and I'm his caregiver. So I don't get out really at all in the last 2 or so years.
I believe people need to get more together and do lots of things like we used to do.
Go camping, hang out, go dancing, have just round table talks.
I suppose some do. I just don't see it from my little lens on the world.

The world has changed since the sniffles come round.
People got locked down, locked in, and afraid to breathe on their neighbors.
I hope someday we can just let that fear go and get back to a little normalcy.
I wish I had people come over and visit me and dad, but we are fairly rural, and the old folks have moved on, and the younger ones don't do visiting anymore.

When the internet first came out I was taking a class in Computer science at the local community college.
The paper you had to write for the end of the term had to be about the internet.
I was older than the other kids, they were fresh out of high school and I been living in the real world working and raising a family for over 15 years already.

They wrote about Microsoft and Bill Gates and all the new discoveries there would be.

I wrote about the disassociation and the loneliness that with less personal interactions with other people would end up having.

I got a C- .

Somehow in my wildest dreams, I hope the US manages to get control of all the minerals and parts and pieces, puts them all in one basket, and starts cracking eggs.

Over time the CIA grew so big that it ended up turning on the very people that created it.
I remember John F. Kennedy saying that before he left office he was going to smash the CIA into a million pieces.
Then they assassinated him.

I don't believe the world needs AI to be honest.
We need Farmers and builders and small businesses.
The way life used to be.
Maybe we have to blow it all up in order to begin again.
Maybe we even been this way before and still haven't learned from our mistakes.

well we have Five Eyes each of those have their own Intelligence Agency. I'm pretty sure most advanced countries do.

So if all this data is collected in one place, ultimately. Information will be pulled from multiple data centers at a time I would assume.
How will Intelligence be kept separate from the rest of the data?
All I can think of is a SKIF.
Makes me think of "ballrooms" .

I wonder if that is to keep nosey noses out?
I wonder what MI6 is doing these days with the way England is in.
Then there is Mossad. Those we plebs know. I'm sure there are those most don't know.
And only a few are aware of.
Snow White and the 7 dwarfs is a system of 7 computer systems. I think they are inactive now.

Then we have these Flock camera's. That's a new one for me. I don't get out much these days.
I know they have city cameras. You can watch Times Square NYC 24/7 on live feed camera.
I know they have license plate recorders when you go through toll booths and pay with a pass, they bill you.
But I haven't been over a bridge let alone a toll booth in the last 10 years.

I am so far outside society that none of the physical impact of the changes will have much effect,
but the way we do things online will, and they are everyday.
The internet has changed since Windows 98, just saying, and I was already in my 30's so I missed that early learning indoctrination of how to be a computer whiz.

I don't know what the lasting effect AI will have if it becomes the thing that does our thinking for us.
That's a scary prospect indeed.
And I always say to myself, I don't have to worry about it, I'll be gone by then. And yet, I am still here.

I rather we didn't play with things we didn't understand, but I guess that has always been the nature of man.

Thank you Ziggy, for your story. I can see why you like technology since it allows you to be among people in mind and still care for your dad. It’s very becoming of you to care for him, I wish you much strength in that.
People back around the change of the millennium didn’t really understand computer technology like we do now. Some did, like you, but most didn’t see where it was going. My mom and dad probably looked at me from a perspective akin to how I look at generation Z behind their tiktoks. My parents were right though, screens need to be constricted to 15 min a day for kids. But what can I do, i’m not a parent nor a kid haha.

I can see why you like technology

I really don't.
I have this laptop because my tabletop gave out a year ago. I can't even figure out how to retrieve my passwords sometimes.
I know them, I just don't know how to access them lol
Sometimes it takes me an hour to get everything back to where I know it is.
I don't like technology at all.
Just give me a little dirt and some seeds to grow a garden and enjoy the sunshine.
But I guess it didn't work out that way.

Around 2017 I started watching different videos about the infamous letter 17.
I started reading the posts and doing my own research.
A lot of things in them are on a time line.
What was written in 2017 is coming onto the world stage now.
They been there all the time it' just now they are being revealed to the public.

I never thought about Geopolitical, technological, Banking and the intricacies of masterminds who control the world.
I never thought about Trafficking or Crimes to Humanity, I never even heard of Epstein or Little St. John's Island.
I just grab a line and run with it to see where it would lead.
And the places it led frightened me, made me sad, pissed me off, but the more I dug the more I learned.
I can almost point out every country on the globe without boundary lines.
I understand the Founding Father's, the Constitution, Britain and China and how things are manipulated around the world with global powers.

Let me be frank. I have a 6th grade education. During 7th grade I hooked school and rode subway trains all day.
8th grade I went to a party got drunk and got pregnant. So I had to drop out.
Raised a baby, got married, and all the time I worked for dad as customer service for our furniture delivery company.
When he retired I went to work in the printing industry as a machine operator and eventually joined a group and opened our own shop.

I eventually got my GED and did 1 year of community college. I was going for a Business degree but work was more important so I had to drop out or lose my job.

I don't know how I know a lot of things except really thinking about something and being critical and curious and investigative, never hurt nobody's brain.

Technology is at the bottom of the list.
I am more concerned with Why are we here? What does God expect from us? What can I tell other people that will help?
Here I am Lord, send me.

But it's a big world and there are a lot of responsibilities and I am failing.
My health is crap. Having a bit of a time making sure dad is well taken care of to the best of my ability after all the "help" walked away.
Apparently he isn't dying fast enough so they took away our home hospice care probably now when I need it the most.
So in my spare time I come here to be with friends, chat, and discuss the bat chit crazy things happening in this world.

I don't have much skin in this game. I have nothing to lose except dad and myself and 6 cats. And so far we are hanging on.
Why I'll never know. I guess God isn't done with us yet.

So it's not like I have all this stuffed away in a data center somewhere ust ready to pull it out at a moments notice.
I actually do do research and I enjoy it. Always have. I love learning.
And someday there won't be any time left for that so I squish it all in while I can. lol

Anywho..
I don't lie technology it makes me dizzy.

wooow what a story Ziggy! I see it’s a way of relaxing for you and destress online. Although those stories about secret government stuff don’t sound very relaxing…I agree there’s too much corruption going on in the world both known and unknown. You can get pissed but…it’s why He sent us a manual on how to be righteous. Everytime we do something the way it’s supposed to be done, we heal the world.

You have a load on your shoulders that’s been added too through the years, it’s tough when you feel like it’s all failing. I hope it will pass soon. Pray to your heavenly Father and keep doing good for the world. That’s all you can do. If you do that, you’re not failing at all.

I will say whatever changes they have made to the internet the last 6 months, I'm not impressed.

All the music videos are digitalized and have some monotone sound. Thay all sound the same.
Even they messed with the Live concerts.
I guess with the algorithms yt knows what I want to watch better than I do.
If you Bing or Google anything it starts off with a fact-check disclaimer, no matter what the topic.
Just to make sure you understand that you may have received disinformation somewhere along the line.

Yup, technology. Making things easier for you so you don't have to think for yourself.
