You are very confused here. Only the saints enter into the kingdom realm in this life. But the righteous INHERIT the kingdom in the next age. They are the saved of the nations. The saints inherit GLORY and live in the holy city...ruling over the nations of the righteous.

James was writing to the Israel of God, not unbelieving Israel after the flesh. Believing Gentiles have been grafted into the Israel of God.

I would say that seeking to establish our own righteousness is performance. But submitting to the righteousness of Christ in us is not performance....it is His genuine righteousness being manifested. We are told to put off the old man and put on the new. Mortify the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit. And we are told to run the race lawfully if we are to receive the prize.......otherwise be disqualified.
