If I were you, I’d do the laundry. They’re lying.

They seem rather convinced. Not sure I would call them liars. Fools seems more appropriate, but I shy away from that word as well.

One of these days one of these date setters will be correct. Tomorrow works for me, but yeah, maybe I should get on that laundry.

Just curious Matthias, would you place those who are convinced that they have "rightly divided" the word of God in regards to eschatology as false prophets as well?

There are a great many opinions on display in this forum, with a wide variety of conclusions being offered. And it would seem that each of these "prophets" are completely convinced that they have it right and everyone else is wrong.

Since none of us will know until Christ returns, would you also describe the self professed experts as false prophets? Or are they simply guilty of woefully mismanaging God's time?

No, I wouldn’t. There is a difference between a person reading a passage of scripture and stating an understanding and a person who says God personally told or showed them something. Both can be right and both can be wrong.

These people that I’ve been watching for a year are deceived and deceiving. God hasn’t personally told or shown them anything which they assert and insist that he has.

But these self professed experts often make the claim that God "revealed" to them what they are teaching. Or that the Word clearly says this or clearly says that. And many of them have no problem damning you to hell if you disagree with them. Sounds quite a bit like a false prophet to me.

Yes. So, we aren’t disagreeing with him or her, we’re disagreeing with God. We wouldn’t want to disagree with God, would we? Of course not. Where do we send the check?

Or that the Word clearly says this or clearly says that.

Yes. Paul gives us instructions regarding what we must do to evaluate the teaching.

And many of them have no problem damning you to hell if you disagree with them.

Yes. On behalf of God, no less.
