Your the one making the claim that Mary was a lifelong virgin.
Therefore the onus is on you to prove that.

Can you please show me where the bible teaches that Mary was a perpetual virgin?
I can't find it anywhere

It's already been shown where it says that Jesus had siblings. Your translation of Greek cannot be trusted.
Besides even if you were right about the Greek translation it's not conclusive proof. It still leaves a great possibility that they are talking about brothers and sisters and not cousins.

And this next verse is clear as day, even a child can understand what "until" means.

But Joseph did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And he named him Jesus. - Matthew 1:25 ERV

The doubt that you guys try to cast onto that verse is very weak and not conclusive.

So there is much scripture showing that Mary was not a lifelong virgin and it can't be conclusively refuted. You can only try and put a tiny bit of doubt onto them.

But there is no scripture telling us Mary was a lifelong virgin. The NT authors would of told us that if it was the case but they never did
WRONG.
That’s NOT how a debate works. THIS is the progression of this debate so far:

1. I read several posts which claimed that Mary has children by showing Bible verses that had NOTHING to do with Mary having other children.

2. I responded to this UNBIBLICAL invention by offering Biblical, linguistic and historical evidence that the “Adelphoi” mentioned were the children of a different Mary, who was a kinswoman of Mary, mother of Jesus. She was married to a man named Clopas/Alphaeus.
I then challenged you guys to who me where the Bible claims that these were children of Mary, mother of Jesus.

3. For the last 7 or 8 pages of posts – NONE of you have answered this challenge. Instead, you keep demanding that I show YOU proof that she didn’t have children. It’s nothing but a mass deflection

By the most rudimentary rules of debate – that ball is in YOUR court – NOT mine.
I’m STILL waiting for ONE of you to provide an answer to my initial challenge . . .

In that statenment, YOU have called Jesus Christ a "LIAR".
Jesus said that the gates of GELL would not prevail against the Church (Matt. 16:18).

Good luck with that . . .
Gates of "GELL"?

Satan will not prevail against the church.

Satan infiltrated the first one and began to run that one down into spiritual degeneracy.
So the Lord raised another good one to take its place.

Your church is perfect???????
Far from it.

"And do not call anyone on earth father, for you have one Father, Who is in heaven." Matthew 23:9

Now go ask father O'Malley if that is true.
Or, find some way to spin it away?

You can repeaat your blasphemy untill the cows come home - but Jesus is NOT a Liar like YOU thionk He is.

According top YOU - it DID amd He had to build a NEW one.

You are vomiting out BLASPHEMY . . .

NOTHING that involved humans is "perfect". Jesus, the HEAD of the Church is perfect.
He equastes Himself with His Church (Acts 9:4-5).

It's NOT a case of "your Church"
vs. "My Church".
There is only HIS Church - and HIS Church is ONE.

You've been shown exactly where the bible says Jesus had siblings and where the bible says Mary and Joseph had sex.

Matthew 1:25
Matthew 12:46
Mark 3:31
Luke 8:19
Matthew 13:55-56
Mark 6:3

Your reasoning relys on me believing your claims about Greek translations which I don't. My Greek translation says they are talking about the brothers and sisters of Jesus. You only cast a tiny amount of doubt. It's far from being a refutation.

I've provided biblical evidence for my claim.
You have not provided any biblical evidence for your claim because there isn't any.

I rest my case.

The Church is the Eccelesia.

The Church is not a building or an established group—it is all people who belong to Jesus.

Your particular group of people are pleased with the teachings that it's organizers present you.
There are other groups that gather and are free to do their own exegesis and interpretation for teaching.

Your group has made too many errors and blunders for my acceptance.

You’re mixing categories.

Yes, ecclesia means “the called‑out people,” and the Church is indeed people who belong to Jesus. But saying it’s “not an established group” is simply incorrect. Jesus didn’t leave behind a loose collection of individuals doing their own thing; He formed a visible, organized community when He chose the apostles, taught them, gave them authority, and sent them out. That’s the historical foundation of the Church. He even spoke of “one flock, one shepherd,” which only makes sense if His followers form a unified body rather than scattered, self‑directed groups.

So no, the Church isn’t just a building — but it absolutely is a group, and it began with a very specific one.

And yes, other groups gather and interpret Scripture. They may hold parts of Christian truth, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Church Jesus founded is the one built on the apostles, and Catholics believe the fullness of teaching and authority remains in that Church.

If you don’t accept that, that’s your choice. But saying the Catholic Church has “too many errors and blunders” doesn’t make your preferred group the original Church. It simply means you trust your group’s interpretation more than the one that traces back to the apostles.

You’re essentially saying, “My group interprets Scripture correctly, yours doesn’t,” which is fine as a personal opinion — but it’s not an objective definition of the Church. Every Christian tradition relies on interpretation. Yours included. The difference is that Catholics claim continuity with the actual historical community Jesus formed and commissioned.

Rejecting that is your prerogative. But calling the Catholic Church “full of errors” doesn’t make your own interpretation neutral or original. It just means you prefer it.

That’s not a theological knockout. It’s just a preference.

Yes There sure was an organized church centered at Jerusalem . The apostels were centered there .
Though often they too went out to the other locations to preach the glorious Gospel .
And key leaders did make sure to visit other areas where the churches were .
But they darn sure did not do as the RCC did .
Upon entering the house of cornelious , and cornelious seeing peter
had went to kneel before peter . Peter did not then say , HOLD up
And kiss my r ing and call me MOST HOLY FATHER . NO SIR i sure didnt see that .
QUITE the opposite in fact . GET UP , I am but a man . THE RCC , WAS NOT the PLAN OF GOD for the church .
Nor the JW , nor mormon , nor nar realm , nor scores of others .
You see the true church and its true sheep and its seasoned leaders
DONT bow to harlot nor seek the praise and worship of men .
Nor would they continously teach the precepts of men as though it was the HOLY doctrine of GOD himself .
TO such places that do , TIME TO COME YE OUT FROM AMONGST THEM .
Any one sitting in anything ecumeinal inclusive and of intefaith doctrine , WARN IT TO REPENT
and if its leaders do not , YOU GET OUT and take all that you can with you and dont look back .
Cause its all coming Down on the DAY of JESUS CHRIST .

They ended up that way.
Where did the first organized church in Jerusalem end up?

They ended up doing their own thing, and as a result it was destroyed in 70AD.

The Catholic Church exploited ignorant peasants by doing their own thing with distortions of the Bible.
The Bible, which the peasants never got to read for themselves.

Imagine if they were literate and could read?
And were allowed to read this passage?

“But you are not to let yourselves be called ‘Rabbi’; because you have one Rabbi,
and you are all each other’s brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘Father.’
because you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to let yourselves
be called ‘leaders,’ because you have one Leader, and he is the Messiah!
The greatest among you must be your servant, for whoever promotes himself
will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be promoted. Matthew 23:8-12

Note: It has all to do with using titles for men.

Add to that the invention of the Immaculate Conception. Indulgences?

It only proves how stupid we are free to be if one so chooses to be.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid.

Proverbs 12:1

I bet you can not wait to show how you are going to make this passage into a disappearing act.

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary
home as his wife. But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son.
And he gave him the name Jesus. Matthew 1:24-25

Keep in mind.
When the Catholic church began that concept most of the parishioners were uneducated and would believe anything.

And they could not look at the scriptures themselves. The Catholic Church would either persecute or kill anyone with a Bible. The Catholics were told what to believe. 90% of the false beliefs came from the Catholics.
From the 1200s to the 1800s, Papal leaders openly condemned the reading of the Bible in the vernacular (the language of the common people) and even persecuted those caught with copies of the Scriptures in their possession. Because Bible Societies (beginning in the 1800's) won the war and have spread God's Word around the world, Rome has backed off of its previously public position. Yet the Vatican has not changed. Papal Rome's opposition to pure Bible truth remains to this day. Note these historical statements:

At the Council of Toulouse (1229 A.D), papal church leaders ruled: "We prohibit laymen possessing copies of the Old and New Testament ... We forbid them most severely to have the above books in the popular vernacular." "'The lords of the districts shall carefully seek out the heretics in dwellings, hovels, and forests, and even their underground retreats shall be entirely wiped out." Pope Gregory IX, Council Tolosanum, 1229 A.D.

The Roman Catholic Council of Tarragona also ruled that: "No one may possess the books of the Old and New Testaments in the Romance language, and if anyone possesses them he must turn them over to the local bishop within eight days after the promulgation of this decree, so that they may be burned." D. Lortsch, Histoire de la Bible en France, 1910, p. 14.

The Council of Trent (1545-1564) placed the Bible on its list of prohibited books, and forbade any person to read the Bible without a license from a Roman Catholic bishop or inquisitor. The Council added these words: "That if any one shall dare to read or keep in his possession that book, without such a license, he shall not receive absolution till he has given it up to his ordinary."

"Since it is clear from experience that if the Sacred Books are permitted everywhere and without discrimination in the vernacular (in the common language of the people, D.R.) there will by reasons of the boldness of men arise therefrom more harm than good..." Canons and Decrees of the Council of Trent, p. 274.

J.A. Wylie, an authority on Romanism in the Reformation era, dedicated two chapters of his book The Papacy; Its History, Dogmas, Genius, and Prospects (London: Hamilton Adams, 1888) to Rome's attitude toward the Bible. Wylie states: "The Latin Vulgate is the authorized standard in the Church of Rome, and that to the disparagement of the original Hebrew and Greek Scriptures. These are omitted in the decree [by the Council of Trent], and a translation is substituted. All Protestant translations, such as our authorized English version, Luther's translation, &c. are prohibited" The Papacy; Its History, Dogmas, Genius, and Prospects, p. 181.

Rome's attempt to keep the Bible from men has continued to recent times. Pope Pius VII (1800-1823) denounced Bible Societies and expressed shock at the circulation of the Scriptures. This Pope declared, "It is evidence from experience, that the holy Scriptures, when circulated in the vulgar tongue, have, through the temerity of men, produced more harm than benefit."

Pope Gregory XVI (1831-1846) railed: "against the publication, distribution, reading, and possession of books of the holy Scriptures translated into the vulgar tongue."

Pope Leo XII called the Protestant Bible the "Gospel of the Devil" in an encyclical letter of 1824. In January 1850, he also condemned Bible Societies and admitted the fact that the distribution of Scripture has "long been condemned by the holy chair."

Pope Leo XIII declared, "As it has been clearly shown by experience that, if the holy Bible in the vernacular is generally permitted without any distinction, more harm than utility is thereby caused..." Great Encyclical Letters of Leo XIII, pp. 412-413.

Satan wanted to lock up the minds of believers with the corruption we see in the Catholic Church.
Because Satan knew that "the Truth would make men free" of his own control and thinking.

Satan is crude and cruel when he does it.
Just look at Islam today. Crude and cruel.

The phrase "virgin Mary" does not appear in the scriptures and she was not referred to as a virgin in the scriptures after she conceived. And her name is not Mary, her name is Miriam. Her name was changed to Maria in Latin translations and then in English Mary because they did not like what the name Miriam meant. In the Old Testament the names of people had tendency to describe them. Miriam means rebellion in Hebrew. She was Moses' sister and she criticized him for marrying a Pagan woman and God afflicted her with Leprosy.

well , why that is very very general i do have to at least agree in part .
Because throughout even the first days of the true church
THAT WHICH IS OF ANTI CHRIST has been at work and now at the end
has grown massive . SO yeah i g uess one can see it throughout history .
You know what grail hunter .
You have inspired me to bring what i just wrote on another thread to you .
So i shall indeed bring it here for all to also read it on this thread .
Be sure and have all mods , all st aff and everyone read it .
SO then you and them all can determine
for your own selves what must be done to men like me . Believe me
or sh ould you ex communicate me with vengenace .
Now that choice i will leave up to you all . But do at the very least , no matter what you all decide ,
DO at least return to the BIBLE to learn for yourselves . Okay . can you all at least do that for me .

I am prepared to die on the hill that pointed ONLY TO JESUS CHRIST the one who first died for me on the hill called calvary .
Now if any has a problem with this , your problem is not with me
BUT WITH THE GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD . because it is t hee who calls him a liar and not ME .
GOD is not man that he can lie . but man he is man and is darn sure able to do so .
EVERY WORD of GOD shall be embraced by me . and it is meat . THUS EVERY WORD OF JESUS is my meat .
And ev ery lovely word them apostels left us to read in said bible shall be my meat .
MY DESIRE IS
and believe you me it cometh of GOD all mighty , IS THAT GOD , T HUS HIS CHRIST RECIEVE ALL HONOR
and all THE GLORY and that many souls be saved .
SO dont expect me to point anyone here to the love of a judge not all inclusive harlot or her father satan
who has by means of ecumeincalism poured a cup of fornication she calls love and cliams is for peace
UPON this world .
I want every man and every woman on this site to read this . THEN get all others to do so .
YOU all got a decision to make .
And i do suggest you make it asap . Dont hold your breath expecting me to bend the knee
to t his other god , his ecumeincal harlot , his incluisve message of anti christ interfaith for peace .
I dont bend the knee to satan and i dont bend the knee to his anti christ or his harlot .
I had rather die . So if that sounds like religious extremisim to any of you
Then you just gonna have to do as you feel is necessary to do . BUT AS FOR ME and the sheep
WE BEND THE KNEE TO GOD AND TO HIS SON ONLY . DO as you will o world of false love .
MY GOD is my helper and I DO NOT fear what man can do to me . JESUS has already conquered death
and i shall NEVER DIE .
Now run and run quickly and gather all on this site to read this . And you all decide .

I’m STILL waiting for ONE of you to provide an answer to my initial challenge . . .
Wrong and you know it.
You never answered my question,
Bread of Life used the Protoevangelium of James to prove what?
He has admitted it's not his belief that Joseph had children with another wife as the Protoevangelium makes this claim.
So why even bring up the Protevangelium of James document if you dont believe its factual historical evidence?

Bread of Life uses "historical evidence " as his evidence.
This "evidence" he himself admits is not his position.
Yet he uses it anyway to prove Mary never had children.

Folks, I've asked Bread of Life multiple times to tell me if he believes Joseph had another wife before Mary the mother of Jesus, just as the Protoevangelium of James claims.
He has refused to give a straight answer.

Using something written in the past to try and prove your position is scriptural while denying you agree with the written document your using is inconsistent!!!

So heres my question to Bread of Life:
If you dont accept the Protoevangelium's account of Joseph having a wife with children before marrying Mary,
On what basis are you treating its claim about Mary's perpetual virginity as reliable historical evidence?

For everyone else who is interested in this discussion/debate.
It's good to know that scholars who recognize the Protoevangelium of James do not treat its narrative as straightforward historical reporting.
One Cambridge source describes its author as using old and new testament stories to construct a narrative about Mary and specifically characterizes the work as containing fictitious/legendary elements.

Bread of Life chose to use this document as his evidence for Mary being childless.
Why would someone use something they dont have faith in as their evidence?

Very inconsistent argument.
Very unconvincing argument.
