Eventually if she lives, after all the pentobarbital is out of her, they will do a brain death assessment, and if brain dead, her medical team will take her off life support, no court order required. I feel like she is not really alive, just kept in a zombie living state. The drugs did kill her, just not quick.I heard she’s in an irreversible coma it will be for the rest of her life.
Instant, most painless, and the convict is thoroughly dead after. The loss of BP causes instant death to the brain, although it might feel like a swoon-faint to the person for a couple of seconds. If we are going to execute, I think the guillotine is the best execution device. I suppose we like electric chairs and injections because it hides the brutal and barbaric act our society embraces, akin to buying meat processed at the grocery story as opposed to having to butcher the animal oneself.
I suspect there'd be more vegetarians if people had to butcher their own meat. And if execution was a lottery, like jury duty, and you had to be the one to execute someone, there'd be less support for capital punishment.
In this respect, I can understand being a premeditated murderer than being an executioner. Imagine looking in the eyes of a stranger, each of you knowing you are there to take their life? It's easier to medicalize execution. She just 'went to sleep.' Self-deception.
WARNING. GRUESOME DETAILS FOLLOW. I just watched a YouTube vid of the last 12 minutes of a movie about Ted Buddy, including the execution scene. Along with shaving his head, other preparations were made. The movie version made it seem Ted didn’t know about these procedures, making the experience more traumatic. To prevent him from defecating, as all who get electrocuted do, they implement the following procedures:All executions are violent, sanitized death does not exist in a prison.

Electricity flowed for what seemed like a long time. His fist never relaxed. Neither did his legs. Although they put a leather mask on him so the audience will not be disturbed by his eyes coming out of his head, the warden knew the court order had been carried out when blood starting flowing out of the mask from his eyes.
- Put a whole jar’s worth of Vaseline up his rectum.
- Pack whatever is remaining in the cavity with cotton balls.
- Put an adult diaper on the prisoner.
By comparison, medicalizing an execution gives us, the living, less discomfort in the damage done internally. Look how peaceful she sleeps. Yea, no. My daughter is a nurse. Last night she had a patient who made a suicide attempt was only 19 yo. She’s brain dead and will be kept alive by a machine for the rest of her life. What cost? What ethics of economics? What are we doing?
If you don't want the death penalty then do not the crime.
If a country has the death penalty by whatever method and you do the crime then you chose your fate. Not sure why you’re trying to make this personal. You didn’t answer my questions. Check out this thread
Death Penalty: All in Favor? All Opposed?
A friend recently wondered how many here support capital punishment but was afraid to ask. What do you think is the strongest arguments for and against it? @Armour of God, @Taken, @Debp, @Button, @Aunty Jane, @Reggie Belafonte, @Lizbeth Just last weekend, I told my daughter that by the time...www.christianityboard.com
In the Bible, the community led by Moses took a man out of the camp and stoned him to death. That level of pain was acceptable to God and should be acceptable to us. Consider the cost? Stones are cheap. Holding someone for decades is expensive, as in the TN case. What are you doing? Victims of the Prison Industrial Complex.
So you send them to Hell? Did God have mercy on you???If a country has the death penalty by whatever method and you do the crime then you chose your fate.

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
