Okay, I see that your pastor’s “Angelic Conflict” framework led you to the conclusion.

But what exactly was the conclusion you reached about why God commanded Abraham to offer Isaac?

And did you ever take that conclusion back to your pastor and discuss it with him?

If you did, had he ever considered that same conclusion before, or was it actually something new to him?

What is this cross-examination for?
He never taught it.

I presented it publicly before pastors and the student body at a rap session at my former Bible college.

I'm simply trying to understand the example you offered of discovering something your pastor had never taught.

I understand that you presented your conclusion publicly at Bible college.

But you still haven't said what that conclusion actually was.

What specifically did you conclude was God's reason for commanding Abraham to offer Isaac?

As we see the intro of Job to the Angels, the Lord boasted about the virtue Job manifested.

Job 2:3

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him.
He is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity,
though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.”

I believe the Lord made a similar boast about Abraham to the angels, and Satan made a challenge like he did with Job.

Concerning Job, Satan said...

“Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life.
But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”

The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.” Job 2:4-6

The incident as to why Abraham was told to offer Isaac was the result of a negative claim made by Satan concerning Abraham's love for God....

Not verses. But working with facts, we can know about everyday realities at that time in history.

So...

The Lord boasted that Abraham was the father of the faith that all men should live by.
That Abraham loved God with a love unequalled among men.
A love so great that he would do all God would ask of him..

Then it happened.

Satan challenged the Lord...

Oh really?
Abraham loves you more than any man loves God?

Well, my people? Those who worship me?
Love me so much more than Abraham loves you!

So much that they are willing to sacrifice their children to me!

And.... The rest was history.

Thinking soundly for yourself is not the same as inventing disturbing scenarios about child sacrifice and presenting them as explanations of God's actions.

You have provided no biblical or historical evidence that Satan ever made such an accusation concerning Abraham.

Where did you get this supposed conversation between God and Satan?

And why did you introduce child sacrifice as the reason God commanded Abraham to offer Isaac when Scripture gives no such explanation?
