I was merely warning against them popes of the RCC .
Yes i know that even paul and others went up to Jerusalem to seek council from the apostels
for things . As far as history we easily could have learned what is written in the bible for all examples .
There is part of a movement and its attached to what They all hist ory of the early church fathers .
Its a trick to get them to return to catholicism . There is a unity move
and it can say certain truths , even claiming its to bring us back to the original .
Only it aint bringing us back to the original .
They can say very similiar things to what i even say .
But you will notice a key difference in them .
I point ONLY to the doctrine left to us in that bible and exhort all to read it for themselves .
They will point to other things and not encourage folks to read for their own
but at most to sit under a scholar and etc . Sister that is b ad news .
Because that is HOW they deceive them .
Did you know that the more one reads the bible daily
the more that mind is formed rock solid on JESUS .
Even now when i read it , it still refreshes me .
The more you read it the more you are gonna see the difference in Both Christ and later the apostels
approach to sin and etc
Verses todays more sensual approach . That is a fact my dear sister .
Amen. And history changes nothing at all about what GOD says in His word. The RCC is in the flesh with everything, not in spirit or in truth - they are not to be followed.

One of the biggest tasks of the Apostles in their role as overseers was to keep the churches in line with the truth and that involved a lot of ongoing instructing, correcting and battling to keep the leaven out, of both sin and false teachings, as we see from their epistles.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge Peter. That requires some unwarranted self exaltation. If the result of the lot was from the Lord then there can't be any arguement.
I agree with her. She’s speaking right. He made a decision based on the way of old rather than by the new way that was soon coming and that they were waiting for in the upper room. However, judging Peter for doing the best he knew how is not right. We are ALL doing the best we know how unless we are actually walking in His power. It’s like…they had received the down payment when He breathed on them and were then waiting as directed, for the power, the full measure. There’s a lot here for us…

There is nothing wrong in how Peter made the decision. Let's look.

Ac 1:24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

It was the Lord that chose.

Nothing but nothing changes the truth of those scriptures I posted. It is a matter of having either the mind of Christ (spiritual) on this matter or the mind of man. It's the difference between flesh and spirit. One leads in a wrong direction and the other leads to life.....we need to have our minds renewed to see (from scripture - because it is there to see) how the Lord intended the church to be.

Now I know things began a gradual slide downhill after the original Apostles died (as Paul said would happen, and even Jesus knew He was sending us out as sheep among wolves), but that does not mean we shouldn't seek to understand and endeavour (through the Spirit) to align ourselves with the plumbline of truth.

I'm talking about history here.
Are you saying that Peter was NOT the Bishop of Rome??

Okay. That’s an okay way to see it. I include my own experience thus far so I see it somewhat differently. Because…I received that down payment as had they when He breathed on them, but any time I have ever asked for Him to let me know which choice I should make, which He desired, there was never any firm answer and I had to make the choice just trusting as I did it that if I made a mistake He would see even to that. So…yeah, just how I see it.
