See post 378My pre-life?
Who is speaking about a pre-life?
I'm speaking about the Kalam Cosmological Theory.
In this case you are agnostic, not atheist, which is a much easier position to defend than if you were staunch atheist. You don't understand my atheism. I simply have a lack of belief in the mainstream versions of God. I definitely haven't ruled out that a God exists or existed at some point, I just haven't enough evidence to back up my thoughts on that.
What makes you think you do, or should, make the rules? As I've said before, a God who wants a personal relationship with me should be able to convince me with facts, I shouldn't need faith at all.
We know that people are willing to die for their religion, I've named Islamic martyrs who died believing that Jesus wasn't the son of God.

Someone in another post, pointed out that we haven't yet found life existing anywhere else other than on this planet, and that somehow makes us special, maybe the conditions for life to exist happened by chance, maybe they were created? Looking at the evidence on how long it took mankind to emerge, I have the opinion that we are not particularly special, we are just getting a chance to survive like every other species that's lived and died.
Why would you think that your argument is convincing? You have been presented with facts from post Jesus.... Christians were persecuted and killed. What makes your chosen few special? They said that they saw the risen Christ.... What about all the other Christians who said that they saw him perform miracles? Where are their testimonies? He fed a large crowd with fish and bread...This is sooooo disappointing.
Are you really saying you don't understand the difference between believing-without-seeing and believing-while-knowing ?
In other words the 11 apostles collectively lied about the risen Jesus and kept preaching the lie and then died for the lie.
11 madman, idiots, liars, dying for the same lie.
Really ?????????
That's why I asked you to come with 2 examples from history.
Are you playing me?
Modern Christians need to understand that quoting Bible verses to atheists doesn't work. What a Modern Christian Needs to Understand to Tackle Today's Challenges
1. Science and Its Relationship to Faith To grasp issues like the Big Bang, abiogenesis, evolution, and the age of the Earth, a Christian should be familiar with several scientific fields. Here's a list of the key disciplines: Astronomy and Astrophysics: Exploring the origins of the universe...www.christianityboard.com
Everybody knows it's square. There are people living amongst us who think that the world is flat. There are people in the year 2026 who actually think that.
Muslims die for their beliefs and have done so for 1800 years...
People martyr themselves for a cause
Most atheists that I've spoken to know the Bible better than most Christians.
Speaking for myself here, I've read it front to back countless times.
Think about that. You teach all 72 what to do and they forget by the end of the day.And to receive 72 virgins who will continually be remade into virgins for them.

It's okay to do a sad emoji @ProDeo
I understand that you think that because a dozen people martyred themselves for their cause is proof enough for you. I understand why you persist with that...
It isn't proof of anything to me.
People are stupid. People do stupid things. There are people living amongst us who think that the world is flat. There are people in the year 2026 who actually think that.
He'd better hurry up if he wants to catch me before I die.Yes the Muslims martyr themselves for the promise of immediately being accepted into Paradise. And to receive 72 virgins who will continually be remade into virgins for them. Sounds like satanic deception. God is real so Satan must present his false religion.
It sounds like you have a hardened heart. That is a very dangerous place to be.
You also mocked God recently. That is also dangerous ground to be on. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes when judgment comes...and I believe it will come to you on this earth, not after you die. If your hardened heart can receive it, you better believe in the Lord and stop fighting Him. The Holy Spirit will not always strive with you...then the judgment will come.
Not on the thread, no. But elsewhere the very rationale behind unbelief is a distrust in the integrity and character of God. It's also why evangelical Christianity has abandoned God in favor of Trump to bring about "righteousness"I don't hear accusation toward God on this thread.
I hear some that do not believe God exists
Probably not. From your perspective what do you see as that problem and what it entails?you have not solved the problem of theodicy
He'd better hurry up if he wants to catch me before I die.
We can't say that some do not have trustNot on the thread, no. But elsewhere the very rationale behind unbelief is a distrust in the integrity and character of God. It's also why evangelical Christianity has abandoned God in favor of Trump to bring about "righteousness"
The problem of theodicy is THE problem of Christianity.Probably not. From your perspective what do you see as that problem and what it entails?
It does have a solution... it will be resolved...but first Christians need to learn how to trust God despite the evidence that appears to contradict the gospel. We can't say that some do not have trust
in a God they do not believe exists.
As to your second sentence re evangelical Christianity in relation to Trump...
I can't comment since I've been here a long time and don't really know what's going on anymore.
Trump is not Jesus...this I know for sure.
The problem of theodicy is THE problem of Christianity.
It has no solution.
This is what it entails:
If God is all good
and God is all powerful
Why does evil exist?
For evil to exist God would have to be either:
A being with some evil in him which he transferred to his creation.
or
A being that is not all powerful and is unable to remove evil from his creation.
Since we are told that God is all good and all powerful but evil does exist...
the problem has no solution.
I'm not mocking, I'm simply stating a fact. If I'm going to be judged before I die, God needs to get on with it... Going off the average life expectancy of men I have about 20 years left if I'm lucky.More mocking but there might come a time when you are sorry...if your hardened heart isn't too far gone.
Sure.It does have a solution... it will be resolved...but first Christians need to learn how to trust God despite the evidence that appears to contradict the gospel.
Evil will be dealt with. Satan's destruction is certain. Along with his demonic army. Human beings will discover in the judgment that all of God's choices and decisions, regarding how He dealt with every individual born on this planet, was fair, just, merciful, gracious, and loving. Because that is Who God is.
