Seems there is a lot of confusion over what we are here for.
I asked whats it look like to walk like Jesus and there was a lot of shyness about that question. I would think this would be the same.
What do you spend all your time on and what do you think you are supposed to be spending your time on?

I believe the commision for us is to walk like Jesus did. I think because of scripture we are to lay hands on the sick daily. I think we are to set the captives free daily. I think we are to rasie the dead daily. I think we are to cast out demon daily. They are every where. You cant go out the door without seeing someone suffering in pain of some sort.
Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

I think most of what we see all the debates and arguments about many subjects will be burnt up and gone forever. I think most of what we do in our whole life will be burnt up and gone for ever. What in your life will stand and come through the fire?
We are more concerned with fighting in forums that doing what we were told to do.

What is our commission? The Great Commission:

Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

You have the so-called great commmision of Matt 28:19. But there is a prblem with that. Jesus was speaking to the 11 remaining disciples; not everyone.

Jesus said go and teach all nations. But all are not teachers, nor apostles as these 11 would become. 1 Cor 12:29 asks the rhetorical question, " are all teachers"? The obvious answer is "no".

So what is our commission? It depends on who you are. For some it is to do [fill in the blank].

There is a great commandment which is to love the Lord with all your heart. The second is to love thy neighbor.

Mat 11:29 says to take his yoke and learn of him. LEARN OF HIM. That's not a verse that gets a lot of prestige. But it is one that will bring you rest.

Love the Lord, love thy neighbor and leaen of him. Pretty good start as a commission. No doubt, some are and have been and will be commissioned for other things. But these things are a good foundation that all must start with. Whether you are a sheep or an apostle... This is the start, whether or not if it be all you are commisioned to do.

Wait on Jesus until He sends you. If He opens a door, you walk in it, if He closes a door, you dont go though. if He says stop you stop, if He says go you go, if He isnt teh one to send you than you shouldnt be going. everyone wants to be Gods favourite, look at me God looka t all te hgoog things I did.. All counts for nothing, teh flesh doesnt plaease God, So few willin gto wait. Gor JEsus is was 30 years before He was sent, for Moses it was 40.

If you want to run ahead of Jesus, go right ahead, just dont expect Him to run after you.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Its a bit like getting some contractors to build your house, Than when it is finshed some stanger walks up and says, Hi I helped build your house I desire payment..
And who sir are you?? I dont remember signing a conract with you.
Oh sir you didnt but we though if we helped you would pay us for the work we have done.
Well sir, I did not sign a conract with you, I did not ask for your help and I never said I would pay you. Thank you for the work you have done, but you should have asked first. Now depart from me you foolish man you will get nothing from me.

This is like walking in treacle. Jesus is clearly talking to unbelievers.

Do you have a scripture where Jesus says wait for me??? Its not there. You dont have one none.

Today's Christian commission: 2 Tim 2:2,

"The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

We are to teach the gospel (gospel in three words =death, burial & resurrection). Those that believe in the Messiah, they are to repent to the Father whom they have sinned against, confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God and then be "buried WITH Him" (BAPTISM, Rom 6:3,4, 8). At the time of baptism (for the pardon of sins, Acts 2:38) they are added to the church (Acts 2:47); at baptism you reach the Blood of Christ, "you are clothed with Christ (Gal 3:27). Baptism is a "work of God" (Col 2:12). The apostle Peter looks back at the flood wherein eight souls were saved by water (a type) and then says (1Pe3:21) "...the like figure" (antitupos) baptism does now save you (not taking a bath) but an appeal to God for a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus" The Greek word "antitupos" is from where we get the English word "anti type." In other words, Peter is saying baptism is the anti type of the flood.

And what about laying hands on the sick casting out demons and raising the dead etc?

Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses are doing that, some 8.2 million of them in 240 lands, conducting an average of 10,115, 264 Bible studies each month, carefully following Jesus words to "go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations......teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you".(Matt 28:19, 20)

Who among the some 41,000 sects and denominations of Christendom are doing this assigned work on a global scale besides Jehovah's Witnesses, making known "the good news of the Kingdom" ?(Matt 24:14) Salvatore Rino Fisichella (age 65), an Italian titular archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church and the first President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelisation said of members of his own church: “Looking at us probably no one would recognize we are Christians today because our style of life is the same as non-believers.”

Yet, he sees no need to break away from it, as commanded at Revelation 18:4. Hence, the Catholic church, among other churches, is indistinguishable from the "world" because it is "part of the world" in contrast to Jesus genuine disciples.(John 15:19)

Mark 12
28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”
29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

So if you were going to obey and fulfull these then that would include laying hands on the sick and casting out demons and setting the captives free. Its the same thing. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you were sick you would want your niebour to get it off you.

Jesus 12 apostles were instructed to 'teach them to observe all the things I have commanded you'

So if an apostle was to teach you what he himself was taught, then you would be doing the same as the apostle. And if the Apostle failed to teach you to observe all the things that he himself was taught, then he is not a very good apostle and not one who you should put a lot of trust in.
