So, then, when Jesus said "Today, you will be with me in paradise" he was correct..

I follow your explanation of the commas, but you have not followed my explanation of time vs. eternity. You are mixing the timeline of the world with the timeless reality of the kingdom...not rightly dividing the two.

Jesus was indeed dead 3 days, but it was at the moment of His death that He entered the timelessness of the kingdom. And everything that ever enters the timelessness of the kingdom shares in that existence at that very moment - which makes "today" correct whenever it happens. But just as the apostle Paul told us, we come into that timeless, eternal existence from the timeline of the world "each in his own order" - in other words, each in his own time.
