that, other than Xmas and Easter, you couldn't pick a better time to bring it
up, especially since Christ said that the majority ends up there.

i would urge you to go try and Quote that, bc imo you cannot; it would have to first be assumed that Christ had your understanding of hell, as a place of fire in an afterlife, and wadr you cannot get there even with Greek mythological figures.

doesn't it strike you as strange that any time "the afterlife" is supposedly being contemplated, Greek gods are invoked? By Christ Himself?

According to Gen 2:7, humans are souls rather than having souls. In other
words: souls are beings; and humans were not the first.

I can give a brief explanation; but can not understand it for you.

Gen 2:7 (a)

And the LORD God "formed man" "of" the dust of the ground....

Stop there, read no further. And recognize what was revealed of what occurred, AND DIDN'T occur.

What occurred;

A thing formed, FROM the ground of the Existing Earth.
The thing formed, BY God.
The thing formed, called MAN.

What didn't occur;

The MAN, is NOT alive.
The MAN, is NOT dead.
The MAN, is neither LIVING or DEAD.

So, YES, the FIRST act was creating and forming the MAN from dust of the existing Earth/ (which IS dry land/ ground /dust).

You want to call him a HUMAN "kind" of man, that identifies THAT man being created from an element "of" the earth; opposed to a MAN, WHO IS NOT created from an element "of" the earth. I concur.

Now is established how, a MAN "of" the earth; is created and formed (made); without life.

Now forward to Gen 2:7 (b)
What comes NEXT...

"AND" (the LORD) breathed "INTO" his (mans) nostrils...

This reveals an ACT "OF" the LORD...
He "BREATHED"

This also reveals PRECISELY the LORD breathed "INTO" something specific.

"INTO" was a SPECIFIC part of the mans...
WHAT? The mans FORMED BODY, that has Nostrils, as part of the Mans FORMED BODY.

The LORD did not breath "ON" the mans body; but rather the LORD breathed "INTO" the mans body.

And the part of the mans FORMED BODY, that the LORD "breathed" "INTO", is the precise part of the mans BODY, designed TO BREATH "AIR".

However, while the man WAS made and formed TO BREATH AIR, the man was NOT ALIVE, "TO ACTUALLY BREATH AIR".

The very SECOND ACT of God AFTER completely FORMING the MAN...Was for the LORD....to BREATH "HIS BREATH" (not air), "INTO" the man, through the mans FORMED nostrils.

We are fully aware God IS SPIRIT.
We are fully aware God IS POWER.

Thus we should be fully AWARE, Gods creates NATURAL things, and HIS ACTS are 2 fold;

1 ) one- His natural creations and makings ARE expressly FOR HIS PLEASURE.

2) two- His ACTS of MAKING, is VIA HIS POWER, and can be applicable to what is Spiritual OR Natural.

Gen 2:7 (b)
...the BREATH of LIFE;

Gods BREATH, is exlusively, revealed here to BE, LIFE, from God, that brings the FORMED BODY, into a LIVING STATE.

It is revealing the POWER of Gods Breath, to bring a BODY into a Living State.

It does not reveal GOD is IMPARTING, (ie blowing into the man) His Holy Spirit INTO THE MAN.

"AND" man (ie the formed body from dust), became A "LIVING SOUL".

Did the MAN, STOP BEING a formed body of DUST? No.

The man Became a Living soul.

So, is the man TWO MEN now? Or TWO separate things? No.

The man IS ONE man a body, and the same ONE man a living soul.

And what IS the body?
The form.

And what IS the living soul?
Gods IMPARTED "into" the BODY (form) Breath of Life.

And further study, reveals, Both the body (form) and Gods breath (soul) are called BY the MANS, ONE NAME. (Ie ONE identity)

What you should have learned IS the FORM comes FIRST; from dust, and shall return to dust from whence it came.

And the Breath of Life from God, called a Living Soul, IS IMPARTED "INTO" the Form called the BODY.

The Breath of LIFE from God, ie the living soul, (even called by the man's identity) IS Gods Breath, Gods SOULS, and BELONGS to God.

Thus WHEN the BODY's LIFE (which is It's BLOOD) is dying, and being prepared to return to the Ground....

The BREATH OF LIFE, ie the LIVING SOUL, that BELONGS to God...that was IMPARTED
"INTO" the form (body's nostrils)....
DEPARTS the dying form (body).

Gods Breath of life (ie living soul), DID NOT come out of the dust of the ground; nor does it therefore return to dust of the ground.

The LIVING SOUL, which BELONGS to GOD...
Goes TO WHERE GOD sends it.

Further you should have learned...God provided a WAY, for MEN to appeal to God, TO HAVE "HIM" "SAVE" their soul, that it be KEPT WITH GOD, AFTER it departs their DEAD body (form).

Here you should have understood;
A SOUL is a type of vessel with God's BREATH of LIFE "in the soul"

Men do not appeal to God for God to SAVE HIS BREATH OF LIFE...
God IS LIFE, HIS LIFE is everlasting, and IS NEVER in jeopardy of being dead or destroyed.

Men appeal to God to SAVE the soul, that God has imparted "into their body".

Further study reveals; A man can have his natural spirit quickened, ie brought into a spiritual forever life, VIA Gods breath blowing on them? No, VIA Gods Holy Spirit entering a different part of their body (other than their nostrils), but rather a NEW Heart, He prepares as holy, so that He may enter with His Holy Spirit.

Further study reveals: FOR a man to become
WHOLLY acceptable unto the Lord, each part of man is forgiven AND CHANGED...

The body become crucified, dead, and washed and sanctified; by the submission of the man and the Act of Gods Power.

The soul becomes restored (saved), by the Act of Gods Power.

The spirit becomes quickened (born again) by the Act of Gods Holy Spirit.

The Hebrew word for "soul" is nephesh (neh'-fesh).

And Gods Word is; is a soul is something which He has made, has His life in it, and imparts that "INTO" a mans body, by Blowing His breath "into" the man.

It shows up first in Gen 1:20-21 as sea creatures and winged creatures.

Yep, all earthly creatures out of the earth; have a living soul, ie the Breath of Life, IMPARTED into their created bodies, BY God.

Next it shows up in Gen 1:24 as terra creatures; viz: cattle, creepy crawlies,

and wild beasts.

It shows up again in Gen 2:7 as the human creature.

It shows up again in Gen 2:19-20 as the creatures to whom Adam gave
names.

It shows up again in Gen 9:8-16 as all conscious life aboard the ark,
including Noah and his family.

Some say that animals are people too. Well . . they're certainly not human,
but according to the Bible, they're beings just the same. So I guess we could
consent, at least to some degree, that critters are people too; in their own
way.

Animals and man...are both KINDS of things that have BODIES, and have their bodies brought into Living, via Gods breath of life (living soul) being IMPARTED into their bodies, VIA God blowing into their bodies.

However they ARE DIFFERENT "KINDS" of things as well. Animals do not SIN. Animals do not have a natural spirit. Animals do not have the Holy Spirit Dwelling IN them...perhaps later they will receive eternal life, but as of yet, they do not. Their breath of life (the living soul) departs a dying animal body. The body returns to the ground/dust/earth; and the breath of life, ie soul; returns to God.

Although Adam was created a being from the dust of the earth, he didn't

become a living being until God gave him consciousness; i.e. the bodies of
man and beast are natural, but their consciousness isn't natural, it's
supernatural; which is primarily why mad labs will never be able to create
life when all they have to work with are the elements on the periodic table.

Close. God imparted LIFE INTO a man, Gods breath of Life, ie a living soul.
THAT impartation quickened/activated/brought into living, the mans BODY, life, ie the body's blood, organs, thinking, nerves, flesh, sight, hearing, etc.

God said to eat of the Tree of K of good and evil, would be a death unto the man.

Physical death? No. God was speaking of a BOTH a Spiritual death and a Physical separation from God, in which the Phisical man would continue to live, but be separated from God; and BECAUSE of the Spiritual death; the man's "WOULD" also experience a Physical death.

Satan KNEW that...BUT Adam didn't.
The oldest TRICKERY, is full well knowing the WHOLE truth, pertaining to a particular topic, but TRICK someone, by ONLY revealing a HALF TRUTH, with the Express INTENT to TRICK them, into making a DECISION based on a half truth, THAT will cause them HARM.

Satan said; thou surely shalt NOT DIE, if they were to eat of the Tree of K of good and evil.
THAT was a half truth, INTENDED to trick with HARM to their soul.

Now also curious to Gods mystery; is God provides a WAY, for the man's flesh body to be forgiven; the man's soul to be forgiven; and the man to receive a forever living spirit.

We find in Genesis; God had just begun teaching Adam, and Adam SAW his physical body. He had not yet learned...about his soul, his spirit, about forgiveness, or about sin, being the calling of the act, against God.

Adam was comparable to the "babe", a young child who has not yet been taught of things necessary to KNOW about being Against God, Forgiveness is necessary, reconciliation is necessary, God can and does restore and convert a man.

So while Adam did not reach out and take from the Tree of Life...
He was forgiven and restored and converted; just as a baby or small child IS, who has not yet learned to ASK.

Adam was NOT relieved of His natural physical death sentence. Not effected THAT day, but rather many years later.

Adam's Body and Soul however was forgiven and his spirit quickened....

This we know; BY acts of God.

We are revealed what acts God did;
It was Adams flesh body that defied God,
And God shed blood, (of an animal),
And God covered Adams shame, ie his flesh.

We learn later this was the foreshadowing of
Animal blood sacrifice of Jesus' Blood
And
Covering of the flesh body of shame, is the foreshadowing of shame/sin/darkness, being covered with Gods Light, is his Holy Spirit within a man.

And we learn later;
1) IF a person is too young/ incapable of understanding; he is forgiven without asking.
And
2) IF a person is mentally aware of forgiveness and asking; and does; he also is forgiven and converted.

Regarding Adam, after leaving the Garden we have but a few clues to KNOW, he was "restored" and "reconciled" and "converted";
In addition to God shedding an animals blood and covering Adams shame with "clothing".

1) the reference of the number of years Adam lived. 930 years
...and the knowledge revealed OT men living a LONG physical life was a blessing from the Lord.

2) the reference of the birth of Adams son, Seth, viewed unto Eve as a gift from the LORD. (Whom remember, God named the male and female ... ADAM, thus what Eve believe, so also did the male, Adam)

And the reference for that is; When Eve was "tricked" into taking the forbidden fruit and eating, seeing it good for food; Adam also joined in with her and took from Eve and ate.

THAT reveals Gods intent for husband and wife to HAVE the same beliefs...but they did not figure out until, AFTER leaving the Garden, THE SAME BELIEFS, God desires for man and wife, is to BE WITH the Lord, NOT Against the Lord. (Mankinds learning curve!!)

And in many examples in Scripture we find men WHO learned from Adam's experience, and particularly selected "spouses", with the same beliefs IN GOD....and some who didn't and their own consequences that befell them....and the same occurs today.

3) the reference of Adam being called a "son of God", which is a specific term, given to men, having received forgiveness, a restored soul, and quickened spriit.

4) NO man shall enter the Kingdom of God, without having been BORN naturally (of a mans seed) AND spiritually BORN AGAIN (of Gods SEED).

Yet we KNOW, a title of "saint" is what a man who IS accomplished, being a "son of God", is called...ie "saint".

And we KNOW, many men in the OT were referenced as "saints"; which means they "were" accomplished in becoming "sons of God", that requires they be accomplished IN having received the indwelling Holy Spirit.

It doesn't matter IF THEY KNEW, the terms; that were later revealed;
What matters IS they satisfied God, that He would be forever WITH them and God Himself accomplished WITHIN those men, what was necessary for THEM to have their forever life and Place in His Kingdom, and He as their God, and they as His sons.

There are some very basic foundational facts, which must always be kept in mind, and which we must not deny by applying philosophical interpretations to things which result in contradicting that which is plainly stated. Though it is mentioned only once in scripture, but it nevertheless is Truth. God only hath immortality. 1 Timothy 6:16.
Therefore immortality comes to man as a gift which even the redeemed must seek for. Romans 2:7. Yet even your assertion that though the body is mortal and perishes, the spirit is not and cannot perish, therefore cannot die, is incorrect because God is Spirit, and is therefore the only immortal Spirit. Our immortality is given us when the Spirit of God (not our own spirit but God's) reunites with the body, and once again we become a living soul, this occurring no sooner than the time of the second coming.
1 Cor. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

There is no hint, suggestion or even mild circumstantial evidence that could possibly evince any confidence in a teaching that the aware conscious personality of a dead man goes to heaven then returns to the body to be resurrected and then to be returned to heaven with Jesus.

The bad news of hell is NOT that we will be tormented for all eternity....it is that the punishment, the wages of sin, being death, deprives us forever of any chance of living. That death is ultimately complete and utter destruction. Even the devil, scripture says is ultimately destroyed.

5 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Hi Grace. I agree with Weber that the vast majority of peope now living on this planet will indeed perish. Wide is the way to destruction and many there be that go in....narrow is the way to life, and few find it....what I so despise about Weber's posts are his gloating over how wonderfully just and glorious it is that so many suffer, in his words, "white knuckled fury with hot tears", and may other equally explicit poetic descriptions of an eternal state of life which in not only unbiblical, but as you allude to, an ugly blasphemy against the very nature and character of God. The victory of Satan, if we dare call it that, is in the sad fact that he has beguiled so many into believing the same kind of sophistry as Weber's nonsense. And I would suggest that because Jesus spoke constantly in parables, and which therefore required His listeners (and readers) to judge and discern what He was saying, then the plain clear teachings of Solomon would be a good basis to judge what Jesus was actually teaching. After all, it was the very same Spirit of God that inspired both. God doesn't contradict Himself.

I think SDA teachings have misrepresented Catholicism quite a bit.

On the contrary, I would say that SDAs are the only Protestant denomination* brave enough to proclaim the truth regarding not only the history of Rome, but its many heresies as well, and the only denomination teaching the the antidote to those heresies. Including the true state of the dead being discussed on this forum. The truth of the matter is that the concept of man's natural immortality is the ground upon which witchcraft, sorcery, and necromancy is founded. Man's natural immortality is a concept Protestants inherited from Catholicism who in turn inherited from their pagan forbears in pagan Rome and Greece, and which originated in Satan's first sermon on the matter in the garden..."thou shalt not surely die".

*Not to say that there aren't individuals with the truth. But SDAs are the only denomination which consistently teaches that all must fully come out of Babylon, thus the only denomination continuing the reformation. All other Protestant denominations have capitulated.

Before the Eyes of "kings", ie rulers of individual world nations; God SHALL Destroy
The BODY, of Satan, WITH FIRE, and it's ASH scattered upon the Earth.

This is cause for alarm for some people because they're born to it; i.e.

That's an interesting statement. It's saying-- in so many words --that
although infants are too young to lie; they are born with a proclivity to lie;
i.e. a natural predilection, and that's what makes them wicked because their
inclination to lie is intrinsic and will eventually have its way with them.

● Jer 13:23 . . Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots?

"Mans" "goodness" & "holiness" is Forever.

At the creation of Angels & mankind...
Each have their own authority of FREEWILL.
Angels can maintain holiness or fall away.
Men can maintain not good or become good..

AND holy.

For a man to become holy...
It is the man, using his FREEWILL to elect God to MAKE him holy, and by Gods power forever KEEP the man holy.

The holiness a man receives, is of his "spirit".
Man is not a spirit but has a "spirit". And once that "spirit" is brought into "spiritual" life...
It is Forever. The Forever is Forever. The maintaintaining is by God Power.

Angels, were brought into existance, as a spiritual spirit. They were created, higher than man. They were created with forever life, while man has to choose forever life.

Nothing says God maintains their holiness.

We are simply notified, some remain holy, some chose to fall from holiness.

The Angel spirits that remain holy, remain WITH God. The Angels spirits that fall from holiness, become separated from God.
They are utterly removed from their first estate; they became cast down, to earth.
Later they shall be cast down to a deep part of hell; ie the pit; allowed back on the earth; (speculating; perhaps their opportunity to DO what is holy; (on earth) and God have mercy on them should there be a way for them to GIVE God authority over their spirit, and He restore them to holy, and "they" BE maintained and KEPT holy by Gods Power) and further we find, another thing lower than the pit; ie the Lake of Fire; where spirits not maintaining their First order of being created holy spirits was maintained, (or restored, if that is possible),
That they shall go, forever remaining in fire, and in torments.

Not sure how you would conclude, something with forever life, (as scripture teaches when a man receives life in his spirit, it IS forever life in his spirit)....experiencing torment....would be in a state of being dead.

Death, (aside from physical death, a mortal mans body experiences)
Death, is also a spiritual thing, which spiritually means, ANY separation from God.

Is that YOUR implication of a spirit's death?
That they "die", meaning separated from God?

It's easy to imagine that the "great chasm" is something like the Grand
Canyon; but in reality the distance across can't be all that far otherwise

me that the chasm Abraham spoke of is a sort of crevasse, i.e. a bottomless
fissure just wide enough to prevent pedestrians.

Anyway, point being: I'm heaven-bound; but I'm not so sure of many of my
friends, relatives, and associates. If they fail to make the cut, I'm crossing
my fingers that there will be some way that I can contact them in the
afterlife after we've all passed on. It deeply saddens me to think there's a
possibility I might not be allowed to see any of them ever again until the day
of our final good-byes during the event planned for Rev 20:11-15.
