Have you not read where it is said that you should not judge? It is obvious to me that there are some on this forum that have the idea that it is either what they believe or the highway. They take the position of being religious policemen. Unless a person believes what they believe they are wrong.

I, for one, get tired of this. I have studied the Bible for over 70 years and I know what it says.

Jesus told us to make judgements based on sound knowledge and that how we judge to expect to be judged.

It is to support and encourage false teaching not to point out when saomeone is depending on the teaching of a false teacher like john spong.

Who has made you the oracle of God? Say what you believe and let others do the some without your bias extranence input that you think is better than others. No wonder that people say forums are so hostile that they will not come on one. Oh I can hear it now, if they can't stand the heat then maybe they shouldn't be here. This idea closes the door on someone that might be searching and is only their way of elevating themselves over others. One thing I have learned by being on forums, many think they are religious policemen and it is their mission to try and destroy what others believe. They make it personal.

i'd like to suggest--since this is the passage that is always invoked to deny that God pays one according to their works, stated in like 50 other places--that money is being discussed here, "talents" essentially, and the parable is being misused for this purpose. Whenever money is discussed in a passage, i would seek other interpretations, let's say.

so fwiw i would stop repeating this passage the same way those who have signed Contracts for Jesus do it,
and reflect upon the symbols in it differently, so as to at least agree with the copious other Scripture,

unfortunately that does not allow for other perspectives of "Catholic" that might be more relevant, as you might see if say the Pentecostal church were to start insisting that they are the "Catholic" church.

Iow the definition of "catholic" has at least arguably been appropriated by Strong Men, regardless of anyone's personal beliefs in the matter, and many cannot in good conscience perceive the Roman Catholic church, headquartered in Rome after all, right, that's where the pope is, etc, as the "catholic" church.

so you are basically just insisting that everyone accept your definitions there wadr,
and make an institution of men into a spiritual concept, when this is condemned in the Book.
