Who sins?

(Rom 3:21) But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—
(Rom 3:22) the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:
(Rom 3:23) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
(Rom 3:24) and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
(Rom 3:25) whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.

(1Jn 1:6) If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
(1Jn 1:7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
(1Jn 1:8) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(1Jn 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(1Jn 1:10) If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

(1Jn 3:4) Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.

(1Jn 3:9) No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.

(1Jn 5:16) If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.

Physical death or spiritual death?

(1Jn 5:17) All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death.
(1Jn 5:18) We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
(1Jn 5:19) We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
(1Jn 5:20) And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
(1Jn 5:21) Little children, keep yourselves from idols. (ALL ESV)

Is there a difference the way God sees sin in different types of people?

If so, why and/ or how?

If not, then why not?

So, who sins?

What say you?

The Apostle Paul?

From Romans 7:
25. I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!

So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

and your last statement is a good beginning of this discussion.

(Rom 7:25) Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

and what it really means?

Their failure to adhere to the Law; IS a SIN.

Also men who are NOT under the Law, AND

Their failure of Disbelief; IS a SIN.

Also men who are NOT under the Law, and Believe, but HAVE NOT confessed their Belief TO the Lord;

I was expecting the question and appropriately from yourself.

Those still in their fallen natural state where their spirit is 'dead' from birth, perform works of the soul and body that constitute sin in the eyes of God and the world. These people are considered 'unclean' and are a part of the world. Their faith and righteousness are as dirty rags within their spirit because it is still 'dead.' Their faith is in their soul and the things of the body and in the world, not in God.

Those now NOT in the natural state with a regenerated, quickened new spirit and nature, do not sin anymore. There is an immediate change to sense and rid themselves of habitual sin performed by the soul/body. Some task longer than others complete this task depending on their growing faith in the spirit.

These people are born of God and cannot sin. They now have an advocate, Jesus Christ, and he always mediates for their cause with his and our Father.

These people have a permanently changed attitude toward sin and are sensitive to it and do not make it a lifestyle anymore. They do not practice sin anymore. Their soul still sins and is counted as sin to the world although not to their spirit with God. These people are considered 'clean' and righteous to God in the spirit.

Bless you,

So, who sins?

Unbelievers.

The only sin is unbelief, to reject Jesus Christ. Blasphemy.

Mark 3:28-29, Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.

The Holy Spirit always speaks of Jesus and to blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to reject the crucified and resurrected Jesus.

1 John 5:6, This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

And ( I believe) that falls right into the lap of Unbelievers and Believers!!

What some believers believe about Jesus ( or let say, do NOT believe) and about Father God's character and nature...is sin...because sin is "Missing the mark."
"Anything, which is not of faith, is sin. "

But, ......I will stop there. :)

God is pretty clear....and if one doesn't get it from the beginning of scripture...

The Gospel according to Matthew spells it out plainly...

Matt 12:30
He that is not With me, is Against me.

God desires that ALL men would choose to BE With Him.

God provides THE WAY, and the Result.

That has NOT changed.

It is an individuals CHOICE to subject himself TO God VIA His Provided WAY, and such a person SHALL be blessed with the Results He has revealed.

A man WHO Chooses to NOT Be WITH God...
IS a man WHO IS Against God; and IN SIN.

God Bless,

So, we have the expressions” “chooses to be with God,” “believes in Jesus Christ,” “faithful in the spirit toward God” and similar ones that describe those that do not sin.

So, are unbelievers the only ones that call true believers 'sinners' because they do not understand the transformation of a believer’s heart in spirit toward Christ and thus God? Or do they also apply to some believers of little faith?

All sin is a rejection of God and of his laws. There is no difference as far as the consquence go between a 'little while lie' and blasphemy. Both are a rejection of Gods laws an offence against the holiness and purity of God and all sin if not dealt with results in an eternal separation from God i.e. hell.
We all sin and we all need a saviour.

So when we have a saviour and his spirit is within us (reborn) do we sin in the new creation, as the world does?

You will call it sin if you believe there is a law for your morality.

John say if we say we do not sin, we decieve ourselfs and the truth is not in us.

We ALL sin, Christian, nonchristian, everyone. The difference is that Christians know they have sinned, are ashamed and seek forgiveness from God.

This you know in your own life.

@APAK
So then the question from the other direction: Who does not sin?

"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Heb 4:15

But then Jesus was always perfect toward God. He never stumbled.

Are any of us perfect? Yes! But that is perhaps a different question than, Who is sinless?

Are any of us sinless? All of us have sinned, but are all of us necessarily continuing to sin in any measure? No, unless Jesus came for nothing and/or He is a liar!
Paul wrote:

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:23

So then if after receiving the Life that Jesus is, can we sin again? I would say, yes, but when we do then have we not gone back into the death from which we came out? Have we then lost all hope? While as the following verses indicate it is not a good thing:

"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." Heb 6:4-6

It is not a completely hopeless situation that cannot be reversed:

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" I John 2:1

So then who sins? Believers in God who have repented? Certainly at times, but they are not left hopeless unless... Unless what?

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." I Cor 10:13

To me those words mean God understanding our frailties even after we have become believers and have received the gift of the Holy Ghost does not and will not let us take on the final wages of sin [unending death] without an opportunity [or even more than one opportunity] to escape back into His waiting arms. Time and again we who have received Truth have stumbled and fallen and sinned, but God has accepted our renewed commitment and taken us back into His fold. If we, however, quit going back to Him; or we presume that we cannot go back so we don't try; or we presume that He will never stop forgiving us so we purposely return repeatedly to sin; the final result may be quite different,... no?

So then again, who sins? When is the sin we commit subject a final judgment under Rom 6:23?

We all have sinned and apparently those who have been "saved" also at times sin... but... Yes, but...

How many times can we sin? Or better asked perhaps, how many times can we sin after we have repented, received the Holy Ghost and surrendered ourselves to God?

How many times will God take us back to Him? I do have an answer to this last question, but I purposely leave it unanswered for other to consider it carefully...
