KG, who else are you but yourself? God is referring to the elect in Rom 8:33, which are people in Christ!!
Really Heb, don't you know that Romans 8:33 is referring to the Jews, who are God's elect for purposes of revelation.
Study up.

Uh no, it's referring to born again Christians.

Rom 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

Rom 8:28-30 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

OSAS is the make or break doctrine GG. 1 Jhn 4:1.
I'll tell you why I bother to debate it.
Those such as yourself make it sound like one could live a life of sin and still be saved.
This is not true and dangerous since Jesus said our behavior does matter.
So...if you're wrong,,,,does the new or uninformed Christian heeding your teaching end up in the hot place?

Why do you think it's make or break?

I'm OSAS.
I'm offended that people see a written explanation of OSAS and believe that's what everyone believes.
OSAS is much more than any of that.
If you know you are saved and going to heaven, it's because you know your relationship with God is real and will never end.
It is those who are unsure of themselves that can't find solace in OSAS.
they don't know themselves if they will continue believing because their faith is weak, something they won't admit.
I agree....when I got save I got adopted and became a joint heir....a child of the Most High God....Our Father does not pay such a price for us and then get angry with us and cast us off.....no He chastises us and the Holy Spirit convicts our hearts of our sins and continues to teach us. Much like we do with our own children. I am going to go find a testimony I share on another forum the day I discovered God was my FATHER.....I will be back in a bit an post it.

If you have room to boast then the root is pride, and pride is misdirected because instead of singing "How great Thou art" to God, you're singing it to yourself.

"It's more of a spirit of pride. Human pride opposes salvation being a free gift. Human pride wants to deserve salvation. You would think that knowing that you can be saved without having to live up to God's standard of perfection would bring relief and hope and it does, but for some, they prefer to slog it out, trying to be good enough to deserve Heaven. Human pride wants to appeal to its own merit, and hard work as if salvation is something to win or to earn.

To human pride, there is something somewhat romantic about the spiritual quest, of seasons of fasting and self-abasement and ascetism and enlightenment, something about a journey in search of truth. That is more far more desirable to those ruled by their pride than the truth that we are nothing but worms, and miserable wretches who deserve nothing but God's contempt. Human pride doesn't take into account how offensive and repugnant our sin is to God. We have lost sight of that. We don't realize what we look like to God.

So human pride wants to, at best, make salvation a synthesis of God's grace and human effort. Human effort is either placed at the front or at the end. We either must work to get saved or we have to work to stay saved. Either way, at some point, salvation still depends on us from a pride standpoint. To those ruled by pride, salvation can never actually be "free." That is the spirit behind the anti-OSAS mentality."

Those such as yourself make it sound like one could live a life of sin and still be saved.

And that's simply not true, that's a lie from the devil GG. OSAS preaches sanctification and discipline. The devil likes to mix truth with lies.

What do you see?
We don't agree....so you insinuate that I'm not saved.
Not nice.

Sorry to see that you have been unwell. :(

You know where I stand on OSAS , you and I are different sides of that fence.
The thing is though...whether we believe it , or don't believe it , changes nothing,
It is a personal belief issue ...why on earth people treat it as if it is an issue of life or death I have no idea. I don't have a lot of energy for these kind of issues...once I have said my bit, I just let it lay.

Get better soon x

I disagree.
It is written to all believers, period.
Once Jesus said, "It is finished", we all became part of each other.
All New Testament letters were written to all believers.
I'll debate that with you if necessary.
You've said this before as have others.
I contest that the New Testament was written to all believers, no exceptions.
Why should I believe and follow something that is just for the Jews?
I can show you otherwise.

You are new here. We are all very well seasoned and know our bibles well.
No point in quoting us loads of scriptures ...you have nothing new that we have not already heard. (Many many times)

But, .......welcome to the Site.

3 TIMES GOD ASKED ME.....WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?
I went to church all my life, got saved when I was 7. After I became an adult I joined the adult Sunday service. We had a wonderful pastor who just happened to preach his sermon on the very sin I committed that week. At the end of the sermon he invited anyone who needed to come to the alter to rededicate, get saved or be delivered to come forward. I was there every single service. One Sunday after church and getting saved again I went home threw my body on the floor and cried to God uncontrollably and said "I give up, this Christianity thing is too hard and no matter how I try I seem to always mess up!"
Then I heard a voice, it wasn't really audible to my ears but it was very audible in my mind. It said to me "Patty, who do you think I am?"....instinctively somehow I knew he expected me to say something so I said you are God...He asked a second time, I replied a little more hesitantly since the 1st answer didn't seem to be right and said "umm The Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the I AM...(I got it right this time for sure!)...then He asked a 3RD TIME!!! I stuttered and searched my memory of what I was taught about who God is and finally I said what do you want me to say...
He replied soooooo lovingly and tender and said "I am your Father, and as much as you love your daughter so much more do I love you that you can't comprehend it. As your daughter grows up and makes mistakes you will correct her, discipline her at times but never ever ever will you stop loving her because of her mistakes. And neither will I stop loving you just because you make a mistake. Allow yourself to be led of the spirit, repent daily and always forgive...as I will always forgive you. Seek Me daily, walk with me, talk with me, tell me what's on your heart. I AM YOUR FATHER!" So wow..
I was approximately 23 y.o. when this happened and it liberated me from condemnation. I now know I am truly saved! Amen!
