If anyone is interested, the Holy Feast Days of the 7th month of YHWH's calendar in the heavens are approaching. They are Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpets/Shouting), Yom Kippurim (Day of Atonements), and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). Each has significance in YHWH's plan of salvation and have not been totally fulfilled yet. Sukkot is an especially joyous celebration for those who understand it. If you are interested in knowing more, just ask.

Is anything celebrated around September 11th, the day so many people believe Jesus was actually born?
September 11, 2018 is Yom Teruah (the Day of Trumpets/Day of Shouting). It is celebrated for two days (September 10th and 11th) on the Jewish calendar because of their uncertainty of the correct day. They are uncertain because they no longer use the lights in the heavens to determine the first day of the 7th month. They also celebrate it as Rosh Hashanah (the first day of the year).

Many believe Yom Teruah is the day Yeshua will return at the sound of the trumpet to resurrect the dead. I believe it is the day the first trumpet of Revelation is blown to begin the Day of YHWH (Day of the LORD). Yeshua will not return until the 7th trumpet of Revelation which will be blown on a future Yom Kippurim (Day of Atonements) to set the captives of death free. That trumpet will fulfill the anti-typical Jubilee trumpet which is blown on the 10th day of the 7th month (Leviticus 25:9) IMHO.

Happy Yom Teruah / Day of Trumpets / Day of Shouting!

If you are among those who believe Yeshua (Jesus) fulfilled the reality of this day, please tell me how. What did the shadow point to and what was the reality casting the shadow? For example, we know the shadow of the Passover lamb with its blood put upon the doorposts saved the firstborns from death and that the realty is Yeshua the Messiah, the true Passover Lamb whose blood will protect us from death. Had Yeshua not died as the fulfillment of the Passover lamb, we would still be sacrificing Passover lambs. That is because a shadow cannot cease until the reality comes.

As I understand it, the shadow of Yom Teruah has not been fulfilled and therefore, we still live under its shadow awaiting the coming reality. Only when the day is fulfilled can the observance of it cease. If we no longer need to observe this day, then what is the reality (fulfillment) of Yom Teruah?

Paul said concerning Passover..."Let us observe the feast" (Passover) This is in the singular. It is the Lord's table. The feast of the Lord (YHVH). But there are no other feasts to be commemorated by His followers...at least we are not encouraged (or discouraged) to do so. So then Passover is unique that way.

The whole tenor of the bible is to prepare us for Yom Teruah. People like to turn things into religious observances. Not for followers of Jesus. That time is past. We are to be sober minded. There is a great danger in speculation. No one knows the day or hour. So then our celebration of that time is ....a constant watching and praying. This is for real. And that is the best way to observe the coming trumpet. No one will see it coming. To many the day will come as a thief in the night. So then, in a sense, every day since Pentecost is Yom Teruah! It is time to repent.

In Revelation the trumpet marks an act of God...not the beginning of a time of warning. We have been warned and are continually being warned...but many sleep nonetheless. If we wait to hear the trumpet...it will be too late. So then we are to heed the call to repentance...now!

Be zealous therefore and repent for no man knows the hour...Be ready.

So, in other words, the reality is yet to come and we should be watching, praying and repenting in preparation for its coming? Great! If it hasn't come yet, then the shadow remains for us to keep.

What's the difference?

The shadow and the fulfillment. One is a ceremony and the other is actually doing it. Like the Sabbath...one is just not doing anything...and the other is walking in a new life...away from our own. We STOP living in the sinful nature and walk in His divine nature.

We have no choice but to walk in the shadow since the fulfillment has not come yet. "Actually doing it" means you are actually observing the day and whatever is associated with it except for animal sacrifices. YHWH commands no servile work on Yom Teruah. If you do work on that day, then you are walking in the old life and the sinful nature. The new life and nature obeys YHWH's laws.

I am interested. Will there be an actual blowing of the rams horn...trumpet? I have been very interested in the shofar and the different times it is blown and the meaning of it.

My Wife and I have been observing the Lunar Cycle for almost 20 years, The first sliver of the renewed moon was sighted, by my Wife and I, just after sundown Sept 10th, which determine's the 1st day of the 7th month. And we kept the observance from sundown to sundown on the 11th. Day of Trumpet's!
Are you familiar with - The Aviv Barley and New Moon Society - in Israel - they have gone to great length's to restore God's Calendar??

It has...you are missing what Jesus did and the grace that is now available. So you are latching onto the shadow and missing the light that cast that shadow.

But not according to the oldness of the letter...but by the power of the Spirit. You are confusing a rite that looks forward to a spiritual truth....and letting go the fulfillment because you are still outside of it. You are still living as if the New Covenant was still to come.

It is OK to celebrate all the feasts....but knowing that this is no longer a religious observance.

Actually doing it is not just resting...but resting in a new power...a new life.

I was just reading a post by rollo, and he defined you as a JW, I in my infinite wisdom thought you were like a Messianic believer, just curious!

I am not a JW. I am "like" a Messianic believer in many ways.

Sorry, I was not notified that you replied. Our congregation blows the shofar on Yom Teruah. I personally believe the seven trumpets of Revelation will be shofarim and that the first shofar of Revelation 8 will begin the Day of YHWH. Did I answer your question?

I understand what you are saying, but I disagree since you cannot define exactly how Yeshua fulfilled Yom Teruah. We know exactly how he fulfilled the shadow of the Passover lamb, sin sacrifices, etc. How did he fulfill the trumpets/shouting of Yom Teruah?

The next holy day to come will be on September 20, Yom Kippurim (the Day of Atonements). This is considered the holiest day of the year, but sadly it is trampled on and treated as a common day by many. It has been partially fulfilled by Yeshua's atoning sacrifice, but there is an aspect of that day that is yet to be fulfilled; the blowing of the anti-typical Jubilee trumpet on the 10th day of the 7th month to set the captives of death free (Leviticus 25:8-9) IMHO.

What are we suppose to do on this day? Fast, pray, or what exactly?

So this is not the prophesied time of the trumpets yet?
