Has anyone tried vaping as a way to cut down on and quit smoking?
Vaping got me off a 30 year habit! Praise God...have not had a cigarette the day I started the vaping. It is now going on 9 years tobacco free...AND-gained zero weight. I tried SOO many times to quit before that and to no effect. I STILL can't believe how much I hate the smell of cig. smoke, lol.

Hey, Ms Nancy, really great that your quitting efforts finally succeeded! I think of quitting as a personal goal rather than as a subject for being guilt-manipulated by other ppl. So vaping worked for you, then! interesting. I quit before vaping became popular; so are the inhales as good with vapes as with cigarettes? seems like vaping works for a lot of ppl, anyway.

I quit smoking but it was the hardest task I ever accomplished. Many failed attempts but free for several decades now. I found that you can harness the power of love and beat any addiction. Doing it for someone else because you love them.

I also have a brother and a sister that quit using the vape. I believe that , for me anyhow, the delivery method of the throat hit was what did it for me, the patch, chantix, and another thing tried did not do a thing for me...and with the patch you get plenty of nicotine but, again...the throat hit or nicotine delivery that way was what did it for me. The inhales depend on several factors...there are thousands of flavors, I LOVE the peppermint patty flavor, the coffee espresso and the peanut butter. I was shocked as I was so SURE I would want just plain tobacco flavor, I was wrong, lol. They are personal to the person and there are so many makes and models out there. Each individual person likes something different so, it was a trial and error thing with me. I was just as happy with the vape, happier in fact, than cigarettes.

Thanks and great that you managed to become thoroughly expert at how vapes can work well and better than cigarettes for those who want to quit cigarettes. Seems like any misgivings that you might have had before you tried vaping were quickly dispelled. Interesting that for you the throat hit has proved to be satisfactory (and even better?) as far as the nicotine is concerned. Seems like you would anyway advise ppl trying vaping to expect quite a bit of trial and error in order to know how to achieve really satisfactory throat hits? I had already quit before vaping became in vogue, so to speak.

It is a hard thing to quit cigarettes, I commend your strength to break away from them. They have come a very long way with the vaporizers and they are simple to use and pennies on the dollar compared to cigarettes. I only get my e-juice from a place in North Carolina and have the 3 ingredients on the bottle...no weight gain, lungs clear as a bell, no stink of smoke, no carcinogens. The BIG 3 have been trying very hard to put a stop to them as they are interfering with the big bucks regular cigarettes bring in as, millions have chosen the ecig over the tobacco. FDA wants to tax the heck out of them and the Pharma. Co.'s don't like them because it would cut into their sales of the prescription meds and the patch. Follow the money. Nobody cares if someone gets cancer, they want someone hooked good and young so they then have a lifelong customer. Sad but not at all surprising to me.

Thanks; your comments about the commercialization and political machinations sound like they are spot on; and sounds like you really do manage to get your inhales satisfactorily with vapes, anyhow. I guess ppl who are used to trying double pumping drags with cigarettes might at first be skeptical as to whether vapes would work, right?

I've found a way to continue to smoke while keeping my lungs free from the smoke.

When I take a buff of smoke I hold it in my mouth breathing in from my nose. Then I just blow out the smoke getting the nicotine.

Yes....well I have quit...then started back up....then quit....then started....I am back on the quit part of it....I am unsure about the vaping as a means to quit.

Yes, well, if you read posts #5, 9 and 11 above from @Nancy she at any rate seems to have found that vaping really does work, having herself been skeptical at first.

Sounds like you want at least to be permanently quit of cigarettes and their side effects, while having at the same time some long term need/aspiration for a bit of regular nicotine; from what @Nancy says above vaping does seem to her to be pretty doable, anyway.

(I myself quit completely before vaping came into vogue, so anyway I don't have nicotine needs in that sense.)
