2 Peter 1:10 KJVS
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Romans 12:2 KJVS
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

John 21:21 KJVS
Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do ?

What am I to do Lord? The big question for each of us. What has God shown you? For many of us it's not one big thing or ministry but a day by day seeking of His face. Some were sent and some just went. Be certain that you are sent and don't just go. It has been said if you send yourself you will also have to anoint yourself. Denomination dead works.

Romans 8:14 KJVS
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Has God told you what you are to do? He gives you the desires of your heart. No no, not some thing that you want. He does that too, but the real meaning of this is that He plants timed release seeds in your heart.

At different times in our lives different desires will come forth. If you do not seek Him continually you may miss guidance. In their perfect time He makes them beautiful. Realizing we are many personalities in our life. Living this life brings changes to our nature. Twenty years ago would you know you today?

For years I was supposed to run my own small business and I had the anointing to do that. The season has changed now and I'm seeking His face. I know partly that I am to write a book, books. I love to write. Writing is a joy to me. Especially when I am trying to encourage others. Of course what you do will not always be received by others. The anointing is not resident in everyone so they are not sent but just went. These will oppose you. We see that on this site.

At the proper season the desire, desires, since there can be more than one, that were placed in your heart before you were knitted in your mother's womb, will blossom forth. Be careful not to stifle them.

Some things I know to do. The major ones, to me that is, but God sees things differently. Every one wants to be used of God, to be a co-laborer with Him. Being obedient in the smallest thing is most important. Who has despised the day of small beginnings?

I read many many testimonies of those that did a seemingly small deed at God's bidding yet great things came forth from them. A missionary to Africa gave a talk to a small gathering on a rainy bad weather day in Scotland. Discouraged at the low turnout he would have been cheered to know that a young David Livingstone was in that group and was gripped to serve in Africa. Obedience bore God Fruit.

2 Corinthians 8:10-12 KJVS
And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.
[11] Now therefore perform the doing of it ; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
[12] For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

Finding out God's will for you at any stage of life is most important. If we can find His perfect will for us at any time He will certainly provide whatever else is required to accomplish the work. Not only does He give us the goal He provides every single thing required. Chiefly the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

May each of us find that good and acceptable will of God to guide us in our continual quest to please Him.

Wonderful post. I was looking through Christian Spirituality and noticed this thread, which apparently went completely under the radar.

Worthy of a reply, so here's mine:

It is so true that He plants seeds in the heart of every believer. When I first came to the Lord I prayed Solomon's prayer: That rather than give me wealth He grant me the wisdom to lead His people. Not long after that I got very powerfully baptized in the Holy Spirit, yet because I wasn't raised Christian I still had little knowledge of the word of God to share. So I decided to dedicate myself to studying the word, and for the next thirty years made it the top if not the only priority in my life.

I'm finally not long from beginning work on producing Youtube videos, through which I will present myself to those whom the Lord leads to me as a teacher of His word. I am gifted in other areas, including musically, but this is and always has been my primary calling.

Praise God for what He creates us to be. My greatest joy is receiving revelation from the word of God through His Spirit, and then finding ways to communicate that to others. :)

Enjoyed reading this. Thank you both for your words. This is kinda where I am at my life, trying to understand Gods purpose and will for my life. I feel Ive been guilty of trying to do things myself. Not fully surrendering to God, not really knowing fully how. Trying to hear and understand his voice. I dont want to live life on my own terms any longer. And i'm getting confirmation here and there I'm on the right path. I keep hearing in my mind"Those that Wait upon the Lord" i feel i need to wait until he's ready to reveal himself and his will to me. But its hard. I fight impatients. LOL
It really touched my heart this past Sunday, one of our worship teams leaders said the word that keeps coming to his mind ius surrender. Im
trying, I'm praying, I'm seeking Him and His will. Would Ya
'all please pray with and for me?

I am called to pray and intercede for others....and to be His vessel to manifest His gifts through. My toughest call is that of a spiritual warrior.....but my most joyful call is the one of obedience.

The call to pray in the spirit, the spirit of intercession is described in Job.

Job 32:18-20 KJVS
For I am full of matter,(speaking, word, talking) the spirit within me constraineth me. [19] Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles. [20] I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.

This has come upon me many times. An uncomfortable inner pressure that only prayer in the spirit will relieve. You pray until the pressure backs off. Our spirit man is called upon by the Holy Spirit to intercede in some important matter.

Obviously there's the things everyone is called to -- to love, to follow God, to witness of Him, etc.

For me particularly: understanding people, bridging perspectives, reaching those that feel alone, and family history linkages.

I've had this deep hunger to minister for God. I do not feel anointed just yet. I am just helping how I can and waiting and praying. But I desire that anointing to really reach lives for God. I try to plant seeds in my daughter's life. She is one year old, but I share with her scripture and songs about Jesus Christ, and show her the love of Christ as I do other children. My desire is that anyone I come across sees the love of God in me and that God's love will change their lives as He has so graciously changed mine. I am an encourager and definitely have a gift of helps. I have had a deep desire for ministry to do so much more. I always had that desire, but I feel like the door is about to be opened to be able to move in it.

There is such a need for encouragement in the Scriptures, in things which are God-honoring and wholesome! :)

I've definitely always enjoyed evangelism and prayer. I suffer burn out a lot though.

Encouragement, which includes chastisement is sorely needed. Desperately needed among believers. The ear tickling messages abound in church gatherings.

Telling believers that God wants them all to be rich is not encouragement.

Telling believers they can have whatever they say is not encouragement.

After waiting 14 years for our first child, a promised son, we were appalled when others asked "what scriptures did you claim to get this to happen"?

No no no! We sought God according to psalm 62:8 with all our hearts and after time passed He spoke saying He would grant our request. Seek God with your whole heart.

With tears and travail with fastings pouring out all of your heart, good and bad, before him.

Everything you hear from him may not suit you. Once in prayer and fasting He said "you're going to see some hard things". I broke down into weeping.

I didn't have to ask if it was God, I knew.
Later in a vision I saw my daughter being taken from me and I could not stop it. I said nothing to anyone. The burden of prophecy is discerning when to speak and when to remain silent.

Being a prophet is a great duty. I weep as I type this. Joanna was killed on June 30,1997 my beautiful 15 year old was killed. She was, a believer but I miss her horribly.

When He first started telling me He was giving me the gift of prophecy I was incredulous. I thought so little of myself. He, would give me scriptures though and gradually I came to believe then prophesy in the congregation and sometimes to individuals.

My life is for my family and whatever the Lord has for me to do. This life here and this present world has absolutely nothing I want. My real life awaits me. Amen

Interesting the reference there to family history linkages! so you mean, in Scripture? or genealogy more generally? (my wife is into family history).

Understanding people's families / better helping them understand it.

Not really the "begats" in scripture. I mean, those are cool, but not my personal calling area.

I see; like, understanding why someone likely behave the way s/he did if one looks at the person's family history...

Not really. People have their individual choices.
More just understanding the stories of you forefathers/mothers.

Hi; a good verse is: "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8.28)
