NOT REMOTELY AN ANSWER!!!!

You've admitted that you find manmade documents XYZ to be flawed, but you like ABC. Now what if Bob reads manmade ABC, does lots of studying/prayer and comes to the conclusion that they are wrong? What then?
Studying Scripture and prayer are the supremely important way to understand by God's grace what God's Word says; the witness of others Christians similarly engaged can also be very useful.

If you read my exchanges, they often provide more of a detailed answer than requested.

Without the direction of the Holy Ghost we would never be able to tell the difference between that which is true and that which is a lie. Our brains alone cannot do it.
But, don't listen to your pastor and condemn others for listening to theirs.

Christendom in general considers any churches who do not embrace the Ecumenical Creeds to be cults.

He doesn't know his bible.
So Bob automatically "doesn't know his Bible" if he doesn't agree with Dave's answer.
Wow, how egotistical of an answer. Way to completely way away the Holy Spirit, Bob as a person, scripture study, looking to God, etc. It's all about whether or not you agree with Dave and the sinners who crafted these manmade documents.

No, I agree with the Ecumenical Creeds. Christendom believes any church not in agreement is a cult.

But, don't listen to your pastor and condemn others for listening to theirs.
My current pastor has taught me more by his Spirit than any other pastor has ever taught me using the Bible. When I was very young in the Lord under my first pastor I came to believe that when I did not understand which way was the right way to go I should follow the pastor. Eventually as I served God myself and read the Bible for myself I could no longer follow that man. But, for a young person in God's service with no definite answer to every question that arises and inadequate understanding of the scriptures, who else could he follow?

In those days I did not know about hearing from God directly. I went with what I had and sometimes the cost of doing so was high because I had very little, but ultimately the result as I see it was well worth it. The answer if you have the means of course is to read the Bible and to pray in the Spirit, but young people have to learn even those things. It does not normally just happen.

Frankly, you've only proven to me how you worship your own ego.

Anyone who doesn't agree with you on which manmade documents are correct automatically "doesn't know his Bible". You have placed "agreeing with Dave and other sinners" automatically automatically above listening the Holy Spirit, scripture study, looking to God, etc.

If I agree with Christendom, why am I the bad guy? Do you believe the trinity doctrine? The Deity of Christ?

Yet you condemn all others for doing the same.

i would go so far as to say that every believer owes it to themselves to take darnel at least once in their lives
The word "darnel" makes it difficult to understand but perhaps you mean to eat something that is not best but is at least a step above starvation. That could be a painful lesson, but if it really was learned...?
