I know all my life I did not eat the correct foods as most of us do !

But my younger son , did a lot more reading then I knew and found that we are not
eating correct.......

There are so many chemicals and bad things in prepared foods.

All I know for sure is keep away from .......... Sugar........... white flour ....

Guess you have to do some reading to know what's good and what's not !
Hope this will help and make you start to eat better ! :)

My wife spends lots of time reading ingredient labels while grocery shopping. We rarely eat processed foods and she cooks mostly from scratch. She insists on eating whole foods, not messing with the balance God designed them with. Apples - not apple juice. Whole Wheat not bleached white flour, etc. We buy Ezekiel Bread some of which comes from a bible recipe for bread.
““As for you, take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt, put them in a single container, and make food from them for yourself. For the same number of days that you lie on your side—390 days—you will eat it.” (Ezekiel 4:9)

Yes ! We do also, only thing is we have 8 grand children and it sure is $$$$ pricey ..
I pay for the food and my daughter in law picks the food... She try's very hard to buy the less
expensive one's...... but its not always possible. I no longer cook, 2 cooks would surely not work out..

Dear Sister Grams, you're listed as 83 years of age, and now you claim you
didn't do it right? I'll just quote the following scripture showing that those
who worry about such things are weak, and yet God has kept you anyway.

How many times has science changed its mind over the years as to what
is, and what is not good for us? With all the practice science has, they
can't even forecast the weather correctly, and now you want to listen to
them?

Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is
weak, eateth herbs.
Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not
him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

I too am over eighty, and enjoy whatever tastes good, doesn't give me
heartburn, and trust our wonderful God to keep me until He is ready for me.

Hi Larry2,

I guess GOD wants me to help my girl friend ! ? ??
We grew up together one house apart, from the age of 4 [her] and 5[me] years old !
I got her to go to church with me, Catholic back then !
When I got into my 50's our son changed churches and we went with him..
To find out we were not saved all those years, the priest and nuns never told us to get a bible.
only the church book and rosary...... And of course we got bibles, when we got saved....... !
Now I am finding out my girl friend does not have a bible and wont get one.
And my son read one of my letters I got from her and he said she is not saved.
So I am trying very hard to write things to her, but she is against this. she said it ruins a
friendship ! I have given her a couple of verses and she is hinting I should stop.
I do not see her we live a long distance away. I have given her the verse from Eps. 2:8-9
But it does not seem to help and I need to say some thing with out bringing up the bible.
But have tried a lot but ,I guess it did not help. Any ideas any one ?

Hi sweet Sister Grams. I came out of the Catholic Church too after hearing masses in Latin all those years, and later found I didn't even know what salvation pertained to. In later years I believe I was just as saved there as I am today, because I had called upon the name of the Lord most of my life; I believed in God. Today I believe most Catholics are saved, although with so little knowledge of God, they're assorbed with worshipping things man proposes that has to be dissapointing to Him.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?

What can you do now for your friend? Continue to live your life for Christ, and many times that presents the best testimony we can give. Continue to love her, and pray for her.

Blessings in Christ Jesus. :)

In a nutshell, the best and healthiest foods are those in their most natural forms and foods allowed in the bible. That said, watch for GMO, additives and modifications even with grown foods which otherwise are natural (hard to find, I'm sure). Mankind has to get their hands into everything trying to improve what God has made. Also avoid senseless and foolish advice about cholesterol, salt, saturated fats and the like. Instead of the modifications and additives in the foods, they shift the bad health blame on these natural components. A good example of this was warnings against eggs and butter (in favor of artificial substitutes to eat instead) which thankfully they retracted for the most part.

Hi; well I do have to watch salt, what with blood pressure and heart issues.

Well, don't take what medical science (more of an agenda these days) too seriously. There's evidence out there that salt/high blood pressure link is not as strong as they make it sound when they have a "one shoe size fits all" blanket application to everyone instead of maybe some people. There's that danger it can run too low and actually increase blood pressure. As a matter of fact, such advice should not be given without testing the person first to make sure their salt levels are too high. That said, natural salt is better than (processed) table salt. The natural has more minerals in it. In the bible, salt is kosher, and some of the sacrifices that the priests ate were loaded with salt. Jesus said salt is good. Thus, it pays to be a Christian and believe the bible over what man says which is what I do.

I sincerely hope that you can get to the root of your heart troubles and you will find the symptoms, such as high blood pressure, will correct itself as you get healthier. It's just an indicator (like a temperature gauge) that something is amiss. Playing with the temperature gauge on equipment will not solve the overheating issue causing it. It will still break down the same way and time.

our bodies are just dying to replace their defective old cells with healthy new ones, but this cannot happen without plant-based Omega 3. Just about everything else can be synthesized. Spend your money on food like Scripture even says, and you won't be needing any money for doctors imo

When I was very young and the only TV programming [no Internet at all in those days] was in black and white received via an antenna on the roof there was a breakfast cereal commercial that included the words: "I love my Maypo". Your image of the cereal box has the word, "Maypo" on it and brought it back to mind. Of course never mind me. I can also remember coming home from school and turning on the radio to listen to the Lone Ranger. No one that I knew had a TV yet.

ha wow, never noticed that! They were the only game in town until just very recently, still often sold out @ Publix, but the space is getting competition as demand ramps up i guess. Dave's is often sold out too, especially the yellow one

When you go into a place like Walmart frequently you may have noticed that they seem to alternate brands from time to time because they simply do not have enough space to display all them all of the time. Competition may be a good thing but how much time can we spend reading the small print and studying such on the Internet to know we are getting a good deal which includes a good price?

i like to vary my sources, but those three are without peer that i am aware of. As to price i should say that all 3 of these could be made at home much more cheaply, particularly the oatmeal and the rice, and if anyone is prepared to buy 50 lb bags of several ingredients i have those sourced too, i even recommend it.

but i would advise breaking this life-long search for cheap food, food on sale lol, what is that even. It is suicide imo.

You notice that I added the 'good price' as an afterthought to the 'good deal". The good deal really does speak more to your concern for quality.

if i see something i really need priced too cheap, half-priced even, i usually don't buy it without the why it's on sale satisfying me first

well ok at least unless it's close to the holidays and i happen to have any doctor friends that might be expecting a present lol
