If* I were to bring up the Catholic Priest scandal randomly, that is bring up a fact. But to randomly bring it up just because I don't like Catholics would be Catholic bashing. You would also instantly dismiss me and anything I say because I'm just a hateful anti-Catholic.

Just like you bring up all these random points is Protestant bashing and paints you as just a hateful person that people should dismiss.

(*Obviously this is not my real feelings).
The Catholic priest scandal has nothing to do with doctrine it has to do with the sin of individual men from the top to the bottom of The Church.......soooooo if you were to bring it up while we were discussing/debating doctrine then it would be Catholic bashing.

Soooo let me get this straight. You don’t want me to point out that since the Reformation Christianity went from One Church with One Doctrine to thousands of churches with hundreds of competing doctrines that all claim to have the Truth?

Don’t forget, you are the one who said that not all Christians believe that. My “Protestant bashing” statement was only re-affirming your statement.

One truth, yes, but the fact that a hierarchy imposes a particular viewpoint does not make for clear exegesis of what the text of Scripture actually says...
Hi Farouk,

Who is your teacher of Scripture?

Randomly pointing out things about another faith/church you don't like is bashing. It makes the person doing it look very hateful and makes other people dismiss that person and their beliefs.

So if that's the impression you want to convey, by all means keep at it. If you want to convey a different impression, now you know how to. I have no dog in this fight.

When discussing the doctrinal belief of the imputation of Adams sin you said that “not all Christians believe that” doctrine.

My statement RE-AFFIRMS your statement. If you don’t like to have your statements re-affirmed and if you don’t like me agreeing with you then please let me know now so i won’t make the same mistake in the future.

Who said I don’t like the Protestant faith? Do you dislike everyone you disagree with??

Divino afflante Spiritu.

Acts 17.11
Just to be clearl I don’t claim that the Holy Spirit is my teacher. So if you and me and another person, who claims as you do to be a student of the Holy Spirit, were sitting in a room together and I asked both of you: Do I have to be baptized to be saved and one of you said YES, baptism saves you and the other disagreed saying baptism doesn’t save you it is just a symbol, which of you two students of the Holy Spirit should I believe?

My salvation is on the line so I must get this right

Mary, I'm not Catholic. I'm not Protestant. I have no dog in this fight. I was just letting you know what image you are painting of yourself here. Random statements like the below are you taking random shots Protestant-bashing, just like the example I gave of randomly bring up the Catholic priest scandal is Catholic-bashing. Whether or not you actually hate Protestants, you are projecting the image that you do.

" This has become painfully true since the Reformation when certain Christians started teaching different doctrines that were opposite of 2,000 years of Christian doctrine. We now have 3-5 different “truths” about baptism or communion or homosexual marriage or abortion etc. etc. Many ears have been tickled since the Reformation "

Wow.....It’s not there!!! You proved your point with one passage from scripture. It doesnt’ say anything about baptism. Than means I can ignore Acts 2:38 and 1 Peter 3:21 even though the Holy Spirit told the other student baptism saves. I don’t even see a reason to get baptized which means I can also ignore what Jesus said about baptism.

I guess the Holy Spirit is confused by telling two different students two different things.

Thank you Farouk.

I'm just trying to be helpful Mary. I'm not Catholic, but there are a lot of strengths in Catholicism and the Catholic people I do acknowledge and admire. Though like all humans there all flaws in people too.

Respecting other people/faiths and building bridges of understanding each other is a big deal for me (even when we disagree about thing). I was hoping it was/is for you as well, and that we as a board can foster a charitable/understanding/loving environment.

Which “strengths in Catholicism” do you admire?

When in Fact ALL Scripture is TRUE

Hmm , what is scripture.

scripture
noun

scrip·ture | \ˈskrip(t)-shər \
Definition of scripture
1a(1) capitalized : the books of the Bible —often used in plural

(2) often capitalized : a passage from the Bible

b : a body of writings considered sacred or authoritative

2 : something written the primitive man's awe for any scripture— George Santayana

So by definition every Holy Book in this world is scripture even satanic writings, so is all scripture true, couldnt possibly be.

No one agrees on anything so may we all adjourn and go fishing which is very pleasant. Much more pleasant than everyone that being rebuffed at every statement. There is something wrong with many hearts that find fault with everything stated. Never one single positive sentence. Not one.

Under the guise of teaching, denominational doctrines are used to pommel those that simply wish to rejoice or with an open heart share some good thing.

Vinegar is unpleasant to the taste no matter how often we are told it is really honey.

Oh, it is there...the ones who don't perish are those who believe Jesus...and He told His disciples to baptise all who are taught the gospel. Do you believe Jesus? If so you need to be baptised. And anyone would be a very brave soul to declare themselves "saved" while disobeying He who died for them.

My comment said "Scripture".

By your own presented definition, you should have deduced that my comment was a reference to The Bible.
