Side note: I attended Catholic services several times a year for over a decade, and spent 11 months thoroughly studying Catholic beliefs with Catholic people and reading Catholic texts. I have like done so with many other sects.
You could have fooled me because it doesn't seem that you know what you're talking about.

I already KNOW that Catholics take Baptism more seriously than most.
Taking things different doesn't mean it's any less serious.

Please show non-catholics the same respect you wish Catholics to be shown.
You could have fooled me because it doesn't seem that you know what you're talking about.
And please stop the blatant personal attacks. If you would like to respectfully ask about my time studying Catholicism, you may. But if you're just wanting to personally attack me, I will place you on 'ignore'.

I just explained this to you.

Old Covenant was about genetics. You entered in simply because you were born into this family. Had nothing to do with belief.
New Covenant was about belief. You enter in because of belief and a (metaphorically) circumsized heart. This is available to all people, regardless of their genetics.
That is absolutely UNTRUE.

If you were an uncircumcised Jew - you were OUT of the Covenant.
ALSO - there were Jewish converts who were PART of the Covenant - and it had ZERO to do with genetics.

It was about OBEDIENCE.

Many non-Catholics believe Baptism to be merely symbolic.
We Catholics believe it to be - as Scripture states - regenerative and life-giving.

I'd say that's a LITTLE more serious . . .

No, I did not claim WHAT YOU SAID.

No, I do not have an obligation to make lists for what YOU want to know.

YOUR words from post #364:
In many Churches, Water Baptism,
Is FOR....several things:

1) It is for the person being dipped or sprinkled with Water, AGREEING to become inducted into "that" churches "membership".

2) It is for the congregants already "members" of "that" church, to be "witnesses", that another person has "been inducted into "that" churches "membership rolls".

Ok. My focus was more on just correcting BOL's comment. Blatantly ignorance comments are... *Jane can't say anything nice here, so I'm going to not say anything*
I'd LOVE to be corrected - IF I am wrong.
Problem is - I WASN'T . . .

If you have questions or aren’t sure about something that the Catholic Church teaches – it would be MUCH more honest too simply say – “I’m not sure, but this is what I heard” or “Is this true?”

To simply blurt out inaccuracies about what the Catholic Church teaches insults Catholics - just as much as YOU claim to be insulted by slams against Protestants . . .

Many many dyed in the wool Denominational members are spiritual thugs and terrorists. They attack never edify. They push and shove. They pervert the Scriptures to fit their doctrines. They have nothing good to offer.

They are as the rock throwing, screaming mob of would be terrorists at our border. Do not let them intimidate you. They cannot think or seek God for themselves only as they were indoctrinated.

Chief of these is the Roman church. They follow man not God.

You've seen their tactics they have no encouragement to offer, only assaults on whatever you believe that comes from the Bible. Avoid them at all costs.
FWIW: As a person who visits a lot of different Church, I've met many Catholics who were real disciples of Christ. I'm not denying that I've also met thugs that sat on Catholic pews. But I'm also met a few thugs on about every other group's pews too.

BOL, you're personal tactics here are... frankly horrible. I don't hold you behavior against the Catholic Church- I know too many good Catholics and people to do that. I'm huge on respecting other faiths. But I will not continue to engage in discussion with you when I am continually attack.

Good day. May you ever grow closer to Christ.

If you consider that an "attack" - the, perhaps a debate site is not the best place for you to be spending your time . . .

Also - try being more honest in your discussions.

Jane_Doe22 ~

You are partly correct about the Old Covenant-

It absolutely did have to do with "offspring", but not limited to "offspring".

It had to do with Men, as the HEAD OF THE FAMILY, the Patriarch, who were the same who were ALLOWED to ATTEND Temple.

The ORDER and WAY in ancient times, was for the HEAD of the Family, the Man to attend Temple, sit, be quite and LEARN from the Temple Priests.

In turn the HEAD of the Family would TEACH his wife, his servants and his children, in the word, laws, statues, and precepts of God, and thus such things TAUGHT, would be in Practice within the family.

It was in these times, "IF" the Head of the House was Obedient to God....part of that obedience WAS TEACHING and MAINTAINING his family in Godly things, and WHY what applied to the man, applied to the FAMILY.

{If one was FAMILIAR with Jewish customs, JEWS were not typically SERVANTS of Jewish Families.}

Catholics MIX Old Covenant with the NEW, in claiming to MAINTAIN, "IF" the parents are SAVED, and they drip water on the baby's head, so also is the Child ... not only Saved, according to BOL...but also BORN AGAIN.

The NEW Covenant, DID NOT Obliterate the OLD Covenant....FOR THOSE TO WHOM IT WAS GIVEN....Hebrews and Jews.
They can CONTINUE following their LAWS, STATUTES, PRECEPTS, traditions, festivals,
And IF THEY DO SO, tell the end of their life, they also are SAVED and QUICKENED...THEN.
(Catholics apparently do not know they are not Jews!!)

Jesus gave us instruction to INDIVIDUALS...
It requires an individual TO:
Believe IN GOD "and" Christ Jesus.
AND Confess their "heartfelt belief"...
AND that "IF" they do that ^....
THEY SHALL receive "THEN" once and forever,
Forgiveness, their soul restored and savED, a new circumcised heart, their spirit born again from Gods Seed, and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit....(which has NOTHING to do with Water, and Expressly has to do with Receiving the Indwelling Spirit of God).

BOL, claimed he became "born again", at his baby water baptism.....without repentance, without a confession, without his knowledge.

Even IN the OT Covenant, receiving Salvation and receiving Baptism of the Holy Spirit...was not given UNTIL their natural life ended, and they HAD BEEN DURING their lifetime, obedient to God. And it is the SAME for today's Jews, who continue in obedience.

The GOOD NEWS of Jesus' Gospel, is "WAITING" to receive Salvation and Quickening, is no longer necessary.
It can be received (unto the WILLING), by and through Christ the Lord Jesus

God Bless you abundantly,

And so what? I already clarified ...
In many Churches, water Baptism is For ...
Several things:

You falsely claimed what I said was it was FOR ONLY "Induction into the church membership rolls" ... I didn't.

If you want to know more reasons why churches perform Water Baptism's, stop being lazy and YOU go Research them.

In Matt 19:14 I would think yes in this, one would Baptize as a baby would you not.

No I would not. But I would do as Scripture says and Teach the child About Jesus and
not KEEP a child from going to Christ Jesus.

Matt 19:14
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
