Hello Helen,

My older son and new wife came on the day before T. G. and stayed till Sun. morning.
It was nice to see him and his new wife...... He never had children.
My daughter just moved last month to a different State, and had a house built.
I'll never get to see it. But that is life at this age.
How are you doing .

There's a place I really like here in Italy, about 3 hours from where I live.
It's Lake Garda and the town there that I like a lot is Sirmione. It's at the southend of the peninsula, surrounded by the lake, mountain scenery all around and a roman fortress at the northend of the town.

About 4 or 5 years ago I made my "last" trip there with my husband and daughter's family. I told her I was never going back because my husband is not well and cannot travel anymore. My daughter told me to never say never.

I set my heart at ease. No more Sirmione.

In September of 2017 I HAD to go back there because my 24 year old niece who had just gotten married was going to be there with her husband! She was here from New York.

My husband stayed home with my son-in-law and my daughter, her two daughters, and I went to Sirmione to meet them.

So...I learned that we can never say never.
Really. It's not just a cliche'.
We just can never know...

My husbands parents were from Italy..... I thought for sure we would go one
day to visit , but the parents were not interested I guess ? So that never happened.
I sure learned a lot ... The best was cooking Italian foods. Have not done that now in a
few years since we moved in with our son and family.

If you're in good health, you can still come on your own.

Well, I only went grocery shopping my self ! I get lost and mixed up to much,
and that was in my early day's..... Now I would not go any place myself.
We are out in the farm area, and give me distance and a few turns and that's it.......!
And I have been wanting to go home for a few years now. My husband beat me he is
all ready there........ I thought for sure I was going to be first.....
I guess GOD has planes for me, but I sure wish I knew what....
I have a friend I have know since we were 4 and 5 years old. I brought her to the
Catholic Church, which was not a good one , I never got saved there...... but she is in a
different one now and I sure hope it is different then back then in the 1940's.

I was glad to read the posts from Fran = @GodsGrace filling in the gap here. Glad that you had someone to talk to.

I had a heavy work day on Friday..when I got home my brain was too fried to be alert enough to read posts or respond to them.
And this morning , very busy again.

Our weather for all of October and November was wonderful...Today, the first of December we got lots of snow...roads are slippery, but it's better than previous Decembers, so no complaints here.

I've been with my husband 56 years. Got married at 18. Thank God it turned our well, true love I guess.
I think of the end at times and dread it, but it's something we all must face.

We know God and this is a big help.
We are appointed to die only one time!

Hi; we need to keep looking unto Jesus (Hebrews 12.2) and maybe the rapture will happen before troubled times deteriorate even further (the Great Tribulation of Matthew 24 does not seem to involve the church).

I don't participate in end time stuff because I don't know much about it.
I really don't believe in the rapture.
Every day someone gets raptured....if you know what I mean.

It's wonderfully assuring to know that the tribulation principle of John 16 ('In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world') is distinct from the unique, great tribulation of Matthew 24...
