Paul is describing what it was like being a sinner under the law. If you keep reading he describes what it is like being born again in the New Covenant.
Incredible.
Paul is speaking about himself as an apostle.

Paul is describing what it was like being a sinner under the law. If you keep reading he describes what it is like being born again in the New Covenant.
And now, you're LYING again.Paul says whatever is not of faith is sin.
Good works, (using the pharisees are an example), are sin if not done for the right motive. And now, you're LYING again.
That’s NOT what Paul said – in CONTEXT, as I showed you back in post #187.
He prefaced it by talking about DOUBT.
Rom 14:23
But whoever has DOUBTS is condemned if he eats, because this is not from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
No, because he speaks of overcoming the flesh by walking in the Spirit.Incredible.
Paul is speaking about himself as an apostle.
Do you give thanks for your food and water? If not it is sin to take it for granted.Seriously? When you reach for a glass of water, is there REALLY any consideration given to whether or not your fingers will grip the glass, or if you will know how to direct it to your lips? I think we have to take care that we do not try to get so "spiritual" and "Holy" about our everyday lives that we make a circus out of it. LOL
Careful! God knows when you are stretching it. LOLDo you give thanks for your food and water? If not it is sin to take it for granted.
Do you pray "give us this day our daily bread"? I do, and I give thanks for all I consume.Careful! God knows when you are stretching it. LOL
No - they're ONLY a sin if they're done for the WRONG motive - like self-righteousness.Good works, (using the pharisees are an example), are sin if not done for the right motive.
All motives other than seeking God's glory are sinful. No - they're ONLY a sin if they're done for the WRONG motive - like self-righteousness.
Again - the Good Samaritan is a PRIME example of good works done for the sake of having pity on another.
The motive was pure even though it wasn't done for God's glory.
Do you pray "give us this day our daily bread"? I do, and I give thanks for all I consume.
WRONG.All motives other than seeking God's glory are sinful.
Even an honest day's work is sin if not done in faith.WRONG.
Is it sinful to drink water??
To eat??
To sleep??
To breathe??
YOU simply don't understand Scripture so you're putting your OWN perverted twist on it.
Peter spoke wisely of YOU when he wrote:
2 Pet. 3:16
There are some things in them (Paul's letters) that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.
I do the same. You're quoting from a prayer the father, not Christ.
I believe in giving thanks for everything, not just food.
The Pharisees "do likewise". But it's still sin.imo "go and do likewise" and let God worry about His glory, no offense
Romans 7:21-23 New International Version (NIV)No, because he speaks of overcoming the flesh by walking in the Spirit.
Does Paul let the flesh control him? Or the Spirit?Romans 7:21-23 New International Version (NIV)
21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.
Does Paul let the flesh control him? Or the Spirit?
When will you lear that cherry-picking Scripture DOESN'T work??Even an honest day's work is sin if not done in faith.
“An high look, and a proud heart, And the plowing of the wicked, is sin.” (Proverbs 21:4) (KJV 1900)
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:14) (KJV 1900) Renders good works impossible unless born again. When will you lear that cherry-picking Scripture DOESN'T work??
This is NOT what Proverbs 21:4 is saying in context. Read the ENTIRE passage:
In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water
that he channels toward all who please him.
2 A person may think their own ways are right,
but the Lord weighs the heart.
3 To do what is right and just
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart—
the unplowed field of the wicked—produce sin.
5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit
as surely as haste leads to poverty.
6 A fortune made by a lying tongue
is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare.a]" style="box-sizing: border-box">[a]
7 The violence of the wicked will drag them away,
for they refuse to do what is right.
8 The way of the guilty is devious,
but the conduct of the innocent is upright.
In its proper CONTEXT - this verse is talking about the pride and self-centeredness of the WICKED.
Unfortunately – context is NEVER your friend because you cherry-pick Scripture instead of trying to understand it . . .
