Here's it about minus 20C windchill, maybe ever colder... o_O

NASTY!! Rather there than here. So far we have got away with okey weather...in the 43 years that we have lived here there has never been a winter like this one!

Are you staying up late, or did you get up early?? o_O
It is 1.41 AM here , right now. Obviously I can’t sleep ( again )

Maybe somewhere between late and early... o_O

Here it seems almost as if the Rockies are causing a lot of precipitation...

PS: Up near where my wife's cousin lives in northern Ontario, they have had minus 48C... :)
Minus 48!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No way!! How can anyone live like that??? 33C here today...expecting 37C tomorrow...me a very happy chappy. The rural fire departments aren't that happy though...a fire helicopter crashed into a lake yesterday pulling up water in a monsoon...all survived but I have been a forest ranger...much sympathy for them in high risk weather like its been recently. And Australian bush burns real fast. Gum trees everywhere...in fact in many places like around Victoria...gum trees is about all there is...like setting fire to petrol.

Well, up here it's more like the Roaring Forties messing up Heard Island...

-3 high today I believe. Hibernating. Expecting like a -50 wind chill tomorrow morning. Sort of reminds me of that movie "A Day after Tomorrow" where everyone freezes.

I got bottled waters and couple flashlights in ccase electricity goes out. Our thermostat runs by gas, so I am sure it will all be fine.

Rainy, schools closed, and temperatures getting down to the 30s at night, which is extremely cold for here.

Do not miss back in the late 70s and 80s when I work right on the tip of Lake Michigan, saw 3 foot of snow at a time and getting down to between 40 and 80° below zero.

I grew up direct south of the lake and saw tons of snow and cold weather on a farm.

No love of snow or cold.

Big problem in this area is when it stays in the high 80s and 90s during the summer,

So we stay in our nice comfy home.

Oh maybe it is just historic for our area then. 80 below zero is crazy.

I'm concerned for my husband going to work tonight. He will get off in the morning when it supposed to be around a -50 windchill.

Some have military husbands. I have a third shifter. It isn't easy, but he enjoys it, so I support him.

Edit: mentioned military men, because I am grateful he is here awake 2 to 3 days a week.

I know what you mean. I was a watch standard and Navy, all three shifts across seven days a week. But was lucky to not be in any really cold climates and worked inside.

Worked shiftwork in the steel mill, seven days a week. Midnights in the winter were especially miserable on the tip of the lake.
