I can't say I ever fit into Christianity, even from the beginning my faith was rife with issues. I remember once when I was in a Christian book store I came across this picture.

forgiveness1.jpg

After gazing at this image for a while I felt sadness well up inside me and I left crying all the way home. That was the only experience I can say I had about Jesus, everything else about my faith was a wash out. Mostly I lived on my knees grovelling to God to release me from repeating my sinful behaviour. I attended many different churches to find that the only acceptance I would receive was at the end of a sermon or bible study (People there didn't want to know me)

The Christian women seemed to measure me up to the character traits of Jesus, so I fell short when making female companions. I never seemed to be at anyone's level at church, my idea's were met with skepticism and I couldn't add anything to their beliefs. Eventually I got sick of the church and went rouge one.

I remained a believer for about 20 year's, but the longer it dragged on the more discontented I became. I eventually decided to try and prove what I believed, as I thought this would make me a stronger believer. However it worked out the opposite and was knocked about by how little evidence there is for what I believed. After that my whole faith collapsed in on itself and I was left in a mess, and nothing I did could repair what was broken to pieces.

I don't know where you looked or what you were looking for but
The opposite is true to the statement I've quoted of yours.

Christianity is based not on blind faith or just believe. But on solid historical facts.

May I suggest that you start looking again but at sites like coldcasechristianity, answersingenesis, yes its YEC you don't have to be YEC, the virtue of this site is that it believes that the bible is literally the word of God and as such is trustworthy and true.
Then there is reasonablefaith if you like logical debate.

In short rather than there being no evidence it is actually the opposite.

Churches have caused many to leave and go rogue.....have hope in that you are still His child and He will leave the 99 to come find you.

True faith arises out of doubt. One must make their own connection with God by trusting Him in every situation. The worst thing in the world is to try comparing one's own faith with that of others. That's a faith destroyer. Look to God, not people. Too often other people are stuck in a belief about God and put on a show of it whereas in their own lives there is little actual faith towards God. This type of belief actually saps the strength of the true faith of others...like a virus of sorts.

It has been said that faith can devolve into belief....but belief never becomes faith. The trend is always downward into humanistic efforts.

Faith is not hard...but it takes courage and trust in God. We have to live in a way that lets God be God. We need to stay away from pigeonholing everything and judging from ourselves. Let God do the judging and teaching. When this happens...faith is not only possible, but the right environment for faith is created so that God can act and speak to us inwardly. We need to be quiet and listen...and I'm not talking about listening to sermons...

Peace

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Heb 11:11
But what we often see and is frequently taught in church settings is a compilation of someone else's
facts and someone else's absolutes instead of what God provides. Who trusts God rather than men?

Where there is no struggle the enemy is assured of its prey.
Struggle, including the ability to find people who are serious in searching and finding the things that matter is familiar.
'Nice' folk, in my experience have always been inaccessible.

People believing in things don't make those things true. Truth is established on grounded facts wouldn't you say.

Our belief doesn't make it so. Neither does your unbelief make it not so. It is either so or it is not.

Our belief, our faith, brings us into the salvation of God, because that is what God has declared as the method of entry.

Some would say that is too easy. All I have to do is just believe. But, we are not talking about saying you believe when you don't. We are talking about believing. And you can't make yourself believe anything. Just like I cannot make myself not believe. I could tell you all day long I don't believe, but that would be a lie. If I was tortured for my faith, and blurted out that I don't believe any more, it would be a lie. I would still be a believer. The torturer just forced me to lie.

You say your truth is established on grounded facts. So what truth are you believing that is so grounded?

Yes and the facts support Christianity see excert from William laine Craigs lecture:-

Most historians, Christian and not, accept the basic minimal facts supporting the resurrection of Jesus
Fact #1: the burial of Jesus following his crucifixion
Fact #1 is supported by the early creed found in Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor 15)
Fact #1 is supported by the early Passion narrative which was a source for Mark’s gospel
Fact #1 passes the criterion of enemy attestation, since it praises one of the Sanhedrin
Fact #1 is not opposed by any competing burial narratives
Fact #2: on the Sunday following his crucifixion, Jesus’ tomb was found empty by some women
Fact #2 is supported by the early Passion narrative which was a source for Mark’s gospel
Fact #2 is implied by the early creed found in Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor 15)
Fact #2 is simple and lacks legendary embellishment, which argues for an early dating
Fact #2 passes the criterion of embarrassment, because it has female, not male, witnesses
Fact #2 passes the criterion of enemy attestation, since it is reported by the Jewish leaders
Fact #3: Jesus appeared to various people in various circumstances after his death
Fact #3 is supported by the early creed found in Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor 15)
Fact #3 is supported by multiple, independent reports of the events from all four gospels
Fact #3 explains other historical facts, like the conversion of Jesus’ skeptical brother James
Fact #4: the earliest Christians proclaimed their belief in the resurrection of Jesus
Fact #4 explains why the earliest Christians continued to identify Jesus as the Messiah
Fact #4 explains why the earliest Christians were suddenly so unconcerned about being killed

I don't claim to know an all encompassing truth, where's the fun in that. You must get pretty bored now you know the truth of everything, what's there to discover now you possess the truth.

What an admission. You don't know the truth. But you know God doesn't exist.

Why is the life of a believer of any importance to you? You reject God at the start.
