Thank you Marksman.

LOL....I just shortened "Marksman". It seems you don't like that so I won't do it anymore.

I know you don't deal in theories you deal in, as you previously stated, "concrete evidence".

Question for ya' Marksman: Since you work on "extensive study" before you will "proffer anything about anything" AND if your study reveals 1,000+ say the same thing then you are getting concrete evidence....Shouldn't you be Catholic?

After all 1 billion+ people accept Catholic/Orthodox teachings as the Truth and less then 1 billion people accept Protestant teachings (with many of them accepting parts of Catholic/Orthodox teachings) as Truth...... isn't that enough "concrete evidence" for you to become Catholic?

Theoretical Mary

Re: your first comment. I notice you put It seems you don't like that in bold, which amounts to a jibe. I am autistic so I am not into like or don't like. Us weirdos are only interested in facts as we do not have the capacity to express feelings.

And as I worked in the Catholic education system for some time, it provided me with enough evidence to not become a Catholic.

Lu 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Throughout scripture we see this focus...Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Especially in John's gospel and in his letters. What is it about Catholicism that removes the concept of Sonship altogether in the guise of a co-equal co-eternal con-substantial indivisible unity making Father-hood and Sonship illogical and completely metaphorical, while at the same time exalting Mary to sinless status and royalty? When Catholics testify to their faith in and love of Christ, I glorify God that even under the weighty burden of such debilitating superstitions, people can still find Christ, albeit an incorrect apprehension of Him. I believe those who do express such faith, will, in their continuation of searching for truth and light, come to know Him better. Side-stepping Mary on the way to the throne-room without being tackled before he gets there will be a good first step on the way to that better understanding.

Hi Tabletalk.

Yes, when it is declared from the chair of Peter it is infallible.

Popes don't infallibly declare that a person is a saint so your question is based on a false belief/premise.

When the Pope is declaring from the chair of Peter a teaching to be infallible (declaring it to be True) the Pope is speaking infallibly and the declaration is in conjunction with the Magisterium of The Church.

Jesus said that the gates of hell (lies, untruthful teachings, false teachings, false teachers) will not prevail against His Church. He also said, "He who hears you, hears me; he who rejects you rejects me, he who rejects me, rejects Him who sent me". Question for ya' tabletalk: Who or what Church is able to speak infallibly so that the gates of hell will not prevail? Who are you hearing? Christ's teachings or the teachings of men?

Curious Mary

1. The Pope is fallible. The Pope is infallible. Both are true in your religion.
2. The quote from Luke 10:16 is directed to the 70 (or 72) , not to the Church.

1. Ministers are infallible when they are reading scripture without commentary.
2. Ministers are fallible in all other situations

Wrong.
The fact is that YOU just wouldn't accept it.

LOL ~

The fact is you "made" a claim.

The fact is you could NOT quote any Scripture that "makes" the claim, you "made".

The fact is you simply call others wrong, who reject your catholic teaching and accept the Lords Scriptural teaching.

Nothing new.

Hi Marksman,

I feel bad that you took it as a jibe.

I use bold to draw a persons attention to that specific sentence, not for the nefarious reason you believe. Since you took it as an affront I apologize.

I am a lover of facts also. By using your "concrete evidence" studies and using your "only interested in facts" decision making process as a way to come to the truth the fact is that most people adhere to Catholic/Orthodox teachings. It seems to me that the evidence and facts should have led you to the Catholic/Orthodox Church and away from Protestantism.

Is it fair to say that your feelings got in the way of facts and concrete evidence when you decided "not to become Catholic"?

Mary

PS...What did you do in the Catholic education system?

Thank you TT.

The 70 (or 72) were preaching His word to His people which make up His Church worldwide sooooo your twisting of scripture to fit your belief is not grounded in fact. What you have stated is not true.

The verses? What verses? I contribute to dozens of forums so I am not exactly focused only on what you say.
The, maybe you should pay closer attention when you inject yourself into an existing conversation.

Pay attention or get out of the way . . .

Wrong.
I presented several verses of Scriptural proof.

Your refusal to believe the Word of God is irrelevant . . .

No. You presented several references to verses, which NONE qualified as claiming what you claimed.

Your refusal to believe the Word of God is irrelevant . . .

Again, your accusation is MOOT. Not once have I disagrees with Gods Word.

However you have repeatedly Disagreed with Gods Word, Changed Gods Word, and then call others wrong for not agreeing with you.

You appear to be the only one confused why your teaching is rejected and the Lords Word accepted.

Thee Lord God Almighty does not have a mother or father, regardless of HOW MANY times YOU proclaim and teach otherwise.

The Scriptures don't show the TITLE of the "Trinity", but the doctrine is taught.
The Scriptures don't use the TITLE of "Mother of God" - but the doctrine is taught - and I gave you about a DOZEN or so verse as proof.

I can't MAKE you believe in God's Word.
I can only present it and hope that He reveals it TO you . . .
