"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3.13-14)
You’ve stirred me up.

Ha, guess we need to review what Baptism is supposed to be about again...
Jesus said, "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)
Yes, but "will" might be the functional part there for most of us?
I would at least take other Scripture on the matter into consideration maybe

Since Jesus put no qualifiers on it, I think He meant us to take it literally for all time.

We are meant to love one another and in my book that means we need to be kind and all the other list of attributes of love in 1 Corinthians chapter 13.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
Great passage...

You guys in the UK have a lot of history to re-enact...
Yes we do, as well as the forties ones there are also Roman ones, Civil War/Cromwellian ones and perhaps others too.

Indeed, and it leads us to be steadfast, verse 58. :)

Some even call 1 Corinthians chapter 15 the "mini-gospel". If the person you are witnessing to is not willing to sit for a full gospel presentation at one time, you can do a bit of a study of 1 Cor. ch. 15 for Christ's resurrection, the resurrection of the dead, the resurrection of those still alive at His return, the importance of avoiding sin so that you will not be ashamed at His return and the final abolition of death itself (God's last enemy).

For some reason, in Canada the Medieval re-enactments seem to be particularly popular.
Oh they do those as well, particularly in some of the historic buildings. And we have some of those in Bolton where I live. You can Google. Smithill's Hall and Hall i'th Wood.

Interesting comparison of the chapters there; indeed, the chapters are quite close together.

I think I've heard of Hall i'th Wood (unless I'm thinking of a similar one in Manchester).

We are counted as being in Greater Manchester. But there other similar halls dotted around the wider Manchester area. Hall i'th Wood was once the dwelling of Samuel Crompton who was the inventor of the spinning mule which transformed the spinning industry from a cottage industry into an industrial one. He is one of Bolton's famous sons.

We can make progress by the Word, by grace, indeed...though in this life we won't see perfection.

Sounds odd to say not in this life but in the next. can’t answer for anyone else but more often than not I do not see plainly and I get tossed to and fro so was just wondering what others had to say there.
