Because the world naturally hates Jesus. If the AC comes and tries to convince the world that he is Jesus, I don't see all of the atheists, antichristians and worldlings suddenly going "oh wow, Jesus! I love him all of a sudden!"
There is no such thing as a one man band, miracle man, the churches all love to call " THE" Antichrist. However, those words are not in the KJV Bible, but they sure as such are written in all the "fake bibles".
Do you think THAT is part of the "strong delusion"?Most christians are looking for a fictitious character, INSTEAD of looking for Jesus to suddenly appear from Heaven in flaming fire?

Adherence to Christianity is declining in many first world countries today. Christian persecution by sword is increasing elsewhere. It has become increasingly fashionable to hold Christianity in derision on this great mecca known as the internet. Counterfeit pharmakeia-addled spirituality permeates our social and emotional human diaphragm. My own generation (Millennial) has an observably decreased presence in Sunday worship activities due in no small measure to other worldly distractions, ineffectual teachers and empty self-indulgent promises. The pews are filled with snowbirds whilst the youth are barely seen. If over 80% of Christians in your average Church are seniors themselves, then where exactly is the new generation that's supposed to spring up to replace them, as has traditionally been the case for centuries?

This decline is so noticeably dramatic in my mind when I contrast the state of churches today to the state of churches from hundreds of years ago. What does the future hold in store for so many congregations, so many of which can reliably be expected to grow anemic in the not too distant future due to staggering lack of engagement by succeeding generations? Is this concern being addressed by Church leadership adequately, acknowledged properly, or is it being brushed off? My own take on it is that we are truly witnessing a harbinger of that great falling spoken of in 2 Thes 2 at this very present time.

The purpose of thread is to ask this question: Is that Great Falling Away as spoken of in scripture not already well underway at this present time in history? Or will this prophecy only be fulfilled when Christians are being systematically beheaded/killed across Europe, Canada, Australia, the United States, et al., sanctioned by their own governments? (futurist interpretation of tribulation)

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped[....]

[Apologies for disturbing content]
The "great falling away" began at [the fall]...which was and is, great.

The signs of the times that you mentioned are simply the signs of the exodus of the lot, the foreshadowing of which can be read of in the story of Lot.

But many are unaware, not wanting to know the truth. Notice that Paul did not specify that the events he named must occur were future in world history, but rather future to the individual that is unaware and might misunderstand and be deceived. Indeed, for all who are unaware, it is yet future...because, as Paul indicated, it has not yet been revealed to them (personally). So it is with every "son of perdition", meaning every son of the flesh. Thus, when one knows he is born of sin and repents, he no longer "opposes and exalts himself above all the is called God." And because these times of the gentiles are "great", so is the tribulation and the falling away, that the times should be fulfilled during a similar type of blindness upon the gentiles, not unlike that placed upon Israel, until these same times of the gentiles are fulfilled.

When we can't "buy or sell" without the mark of the beast, there's a better than 50% chance that "christians" will be like Peter in the courtyard and preserve their "life"/"job"/"home"/"food"/etc.

As such, one might consider that "day" (which is about 2 years away according to my best understanding) and prepare their "options" using their "purse", "bag", and "sword":

Luke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one.

Or, you can be SURPRISED:

1 Thess. 5:3 When people say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief.

As for me, I prefer to be PREPARED! :)

But I hear they will be offering FREE SHOWERS! :)

You are wrong on both counts.

1. Christians are not "looking for" the appearance of the Antichrist, who is by no means fictitious. They simply recognize that he will coming in the near future.

2. When Christ comes for His saints it will not be in flaming fire taking vengeance. Rather it will be for the perfection and glorification of the saints. It is only after that (at the Second Coming of Christ) when He comes in flaming fire.

You have a lot to learn, so perhaps you should be learning instead of making such uninformed remarks.

Hi Dave,

It seems we have very different ways of reading the Bible.

But anyway, I was just giving some thoughts on that passage.

Much love!

Are you saying the restrainer is the flesh the unregenerate?

I wish you guys would think about what your calming. Jesus hasn’t even unified his church, yet everyone says that when the alleged Antichrist shows up the whole world will follow him. It’s crazy. Can’t even get two people on this forum to be in agreement. It a joke

But when the Antichrist manifests he’s going to convince everyone?

Convince everyone of what? No, he's not going to convince everyone. There will be Christians and perhaps other "wise men" (who subsequently become Christian during this revelation) who correctly identify the MOS.

The man of sin... that’s pretty obvious.

Okay, that means Satan was released. My question then is, when was Satan locked away (and) on what date thereabouts was he released?

Thanks

The natural world, yes they hate Christ, that's why they are already deceived, yet it's also why only Christians can be deceived. keep in mind that he(satan) is and will be supernatural, something flesh man has never seen.
