At what point does this just become spam? Repeated posts on the exact same topic containing only a sentence or two from you followed by a link to some guy spruiking your 'message'?

Agreed Naomi,
People become obsessed with a particular "doctrine" to the detriment of the rest of God's message. Sensationalism, fear tactics...I wonder if this guy even knows anything about God's word other than the erroneous "rapture" theory. I sure hope his faith will be strong enough to withstand what is coming to this world. It's all hype IMO.

Even if he (or she) wants to shout to the rafters about the Rapture...which is his right to do...it would be nice to meet him. And by that I mean...let's hear what he thinks, what he feels the bible says on the topic. Let him engage in conversation about the Rapture with people here. We don't really see that. All we see is multiple posts on a regular basis on the same topic supporting a round circle of preachers that advertise the very same thing. Which, I'm sorry, comes very close, or, in my opinion, is exactly, what 'spamming' is.

@Naomi25
I find that there are several on here that do not dialog, some not at all. Makes it difficult to, as you said "meet him". They put their-selves in a position of believing everything their fave "teachers" tell them rather than do as the Bareans did.
I was once guilty of this very same thing in the 1990's. And, yes one of my pet "doctrines" was...THE RAPTURE! Ha! I did not spam forums though, lol...but I sure was fired up over single issues and did not seem to care what the rest of The Word had to say...at this time, I'm so far removed from the positions I took back then and will most likely change my views again in the future.

But that's it, isn't it? I like conversation with others, even those I disagree with. I think it's possible to be sure of what you believe in, but be open and willing enough to be shown differently if that's how the Lord wants to take you. And often it's not through a bolt of divine lightning...it's through an idea dropped in your lap by someone else that makes you go...'oh...well...maybe'. And then you pull out your bible and you dig! I like digging! I like honing my understanding! I can't for the life of me understand those who enter a conversation under the banner of "sure I'll talk to you, but just so you understand from the get go, I'm right, your wrong and I'm barely tolerating you; go." *eyeroll*!!
And yes...the Rapture doctrine is something that's easy to get excited over (speaking as an ex as well), but sadly its not so good at standing up under the weight of biblical text. And I think I'd prefer truth over hype any time. I'd also prefer an honest conversation about it with someone if they disagree with me, rather than somewhat mindless media links.

Oh, I totally agree with all of the above. Many think they do not need to learn from others on here. I myself have changed my points of view many times by what some post here and am so grateful for that! Pride makes one un-teachable I guess. I don't care if someone and I dis agree on something but, sarcastic and down right mean posts are so childish...to me it just say's that person is unteachable and has no respect or regard for the other person...simple politeness is NOT a burden for Criminey sakes!

It sounds OK to me.

Did you watch any of the video?

Actually, Hagee sounded very good.

Just take a listen to the first five, or even the first three minutes.

And i'll thank the well-known Member GISMY 7 for the video.

"We are Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

"We are the Family of God.

"The Bible says that if one Member of the Body is offended, it effects the whole Body.

"Therefore we ARE our Brother's Keeper.
Maybe we're all just waiting for the rapture to come.

But don't know how close it is.

"Never did marry, never went far.
"Never bought a house, or a big ole car.
"But i ain't no beggar, and i sure ain't dumb.
"I'm just waitin' till the rapture come.
"Waitin' till the rapture come.

Waiting Till the Rapture Come

Old man Jonah sittin' in his chair got no teeth and got no hair
Got no daughter and got no son he's just waitin' 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come

He never did marry and he never went far never bought a house or a big ole car
But he ain't no beggar and he sure ain't dumb he's just waitin' 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come

And when the rapture come the Lord's gonna call his name
(When the rapture come) Jonah's gonna put down his cane
(When the rapture come) Heaven's gonna take him away
But until that day…

Old man Jonah's got an old brass horn had it since the day that he was reborn
But he ain't gonna blow for just anyone he's gonna wait 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come

Preacher come a-walkin' down that country mile said 'hey Jonah, know it's been a while'
But Jonah keep his eyes on the settin' sun he's just waitin' 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come

Our Lord Jesus and His Apostles gave us the signs leading up to His return that we are commanded to be watching.

Mark 13:37
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
KJV

So why pay attention to all the hub-bub of movies and books from men's doctrines? Many of those blaspheme Jesus by telling us we don't have to 'watch' those signs He gave His Church for the end! Even Forrest Gump could figure out that listening to those men is a dead end, and that we need to listen to Christ and His Apostles in His Word. Like Gump used to say, "Stupid is, is stupid does."

Yeah...well...ahem. I have to put my hand up and confess to sarcasm. It's a bit of a knee-jerk reaction when people get nasty. It doesn't make me upset, or even angry, but by golly it sets off my sarcasm. I'm trying to work on that, but honestly, have varying success at it.

See what you did right there? You listed the video, discussed what was in it and why you liked it. I might not necessarily agree with your views on it, but I like that I can see your heart here and can engage with you on the topic at hand. I can do so, because I SEE you here. Isn't that what a conversation forum is for? And, just so you know, I'm not making up the 'spam' thing, it is a rule, you can go check it out.
I'm truly not against GISMY believing in a Pre-trib Rapture...my own beloved Grandparents did too. I just wish he (or she) would stop with the repeated posts of 'Hey, betta watch out...watch this!'.....over and over and over again, with nothing of himself/herself there. That's all.

Oh...and PS...I might envision Christ's return happening a bit differently, but you betcha I'm hanging out for it, just as much as anyone who believes in 'the Rapture'. It's something we can all get behind, i'd think!

Ahaha! I am a sarcastic joker :D but quite serious when called for. But I never see nasty type sarcasm from you. I see that there are 2 kinds of "sarcasm". One can either be nasty about it, usually because they have nothing else to come back at you with or, the kind where say, a guy on here (remember Rollo?); I miss him, he was such fun and kept things balanced with a bit of humor. Well...he is a kind of Casanova and when he would come up with something like 'All woman love me, I can't help it!' I would have a sarcastic comeback or an eyeroll...but all in fun. This board needs to lighten up!

In all his 14 hundred plus posts I have never ever , ever seen him say anything in his own words and out of his own heart...he can only "quote" someone else it seems. :(

It sounds OK to me.

I can see you have been a member for two years...but you 27 posts in two years kind of indicates that 'maybe' you aren't here on the Site very much.
If you had been here consistently for two years you would then understand the comments.
The point being...this member never write out of his own beliefs and heart of why he believes what he believes.
He posts on a discussion forum but never ever discusses anything...just spams other mens beliefs.

Just saying...

Hope you hang around here for a while :)
God bless you....H

Oh well said indeed. :)

Preaching false confidence is far from love...preaching an 'escape hatch' rather than ...'putting on the whole armour of God and standing fast in The Evil Day..' is far from being a faithful shepherd.

I dunno...I think he clearly believes in it, which is cool. I can't honestly say what his motivations are, and its best not to speculate, but the result is a bit like junk mail letter-boxing, which is spam.
