One of the biggest differences for me in coming to Christ was eventually seeing far greater purposes for my life than I ever thought possible.

Yes : ) Surprising coming from Mark Twain, who was something of an embittered anti-Christian. Maybe he was speaking from experience.

I found quite a few "Christian" quotes amongst his writings... I too was surprised...but, as you say...maybe they were written before whatever happened that cause some bitterness in him and become 'anti-christian'. By a few of his quotes he sound like he knew what he was talking about , christian-wise.
