Hi there,

So I keep a thought journal and I started to think about what it meant to get my point across. I realised that the definition of being able to get a point across is not being 'able' to be simple, but to be 'permanently simple'.

Now, I seem to obsess over how to be simple. I used to think 'my words have to be coming from somewhere'; but now I think 'somehow I can trust that God will give me the words'.

Writing this has helped; I think part of it is just accepting that being simple is something that gets easier the more you practice.

I should think in our walk with Christ in God, that means something like "rooted." Hmmm

Gottservant, I am praying for you. The fact that you trust God to give you the words is already a win, and practice really does make it easier. I coached college volleyball for 13 years and had to learn how to say one thing clearly to 18 exhausted players at once. Clarity is a skill, not a gift you either have or don't. Keep writing, keep trusting Him with the words, and keep showing up. Simple beats impressive every time.

Praying for you, friend. A busy mind that will not settle into simple words is exhausting, and wanting clearer communication is a good desire to bring to God.

James 1:5 fits the ask: "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." Wisdom here includes the right word at the right time, not a smarter performance.

Lord, quiet the wearisome swirl, give Gottservant peace in the thought journal, and put simple, true words in their mouth when they need them. Amen.
