Since you asked read carefully, this is straight from the bible,

Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

again

Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

From Jesus

Act 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Act 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

and again

Act_11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

So debunked, but that will never be enough for you.
Do any of these verses negate water baptism?

Or, are they saying the Holy Ghost is in addition to water baptism?

This implies that we are not starting empty and gradually filling up as we go along although you would think that is how things were judging by some teaching or the activities of some Christians. No, I get a distinct feeling it is all given to us in one lump sum when we are born again and we have to go out letting what is inside come out and the more we do that the more we grow in Christ because the Christ in us becomes the predominant factor.
Well said!

This is the heart of this thread.

We as Christians don't need to wait for some special event that will enable us to walk in faith, standing in grace, we already have that.

I just cannot stand that message, "OK, now you are a Christian, and you know what is good, but forget about being able to live that way until you get the latter rain/second benefit/baptism of the Spirit.

In my opinion, that's a "poison pill" to faith. "Sorry, you just ain't got it! I hope you get it sometime!"

But there is in truth, as Scripture states, One Baptism, and that is into Christ. In being baptized into Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit, Who then begins His work in our lives.

Much love!

Hi God, this man here says you cannot save anyone without them being baptized, so I am sorry you cannot save whom you please, because this man has a disagreement with you,

Mark 16:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38 King James Version (KJV)
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Bummer, huh?

No, God is telling them to be baptized per those verses.

We do it God’s way, not God does it our way.
No HE is not you are, You are bent, stuck on one scripture because it tickles your ears, Pentecost changed many things, you are still stuck in the past like so many, so as I said are you going to be the one who demands He cant save some one because they are not wet, if thats the way you must put it. Or should I repost my other post.

Okay, don’t get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins.
Have it your way.
The Lord Jesus should be fine with your sins unremitted and your refusal to be buried with him in baptism.

See, all you are doing is defending a lie, Sorry God you cant let Him in He isnt bapitzed, pray go tell Him you dont like it. You read the bible think you have all the answers but again like so many refuse the one who is the truth, remember the thief on the Cross. "today you will be with me in paradise", Jesus never demanded he be baptized first.

agreeing he has a point?

you never believed that ritual water baptism was mando mjr?
I was baptized as a babe in the RC church, because they demanded it, al lout of context and a lie, I was baptised as a christian because I though it was the right thing to do, than I found Christ or should I say He found me, than realized it was all just religious ho ha. Religion has a habit of making slaves of men and keeping them form the simplicity which is in Jesus, just like Pharaoh with the Israelites, religion will not let His people go. mind you some dont want to leave,

yes, few there are i guess, but imo a point is that it was once good enough for you right, that got you to here iow
you discovered a better definition after participating in the ritual pretty much right

i would more question someone who did not at least once hold that doctrine, seems like a necessary step to me maybe
now. ha and you once felt the same way right? be honest don lie lol

I am only saying baptism is for being saved per Mark 16:16 etc.
I consider that an insurance policy of sorts.
Those that aren’t saved stand before God at the White Throne in Rev 20. It includes aborted children etc.
Folks will be judged according to their works.
God will save there too, I am sure.
I just want insurance.

The thief died before Pentecost.
