First, thanks for the reply. second, I understand
Jeremiah 31:31, not saying that you're right or wrong, but was not that covenant confirmed when our Lord died on the cross?
for it was given unto Abraham in Faith, supportive scripture,
Galatians 3:17 "And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
Well, no, the renewal of the Covenant spoken about in Jeremiah 31:31-34 was not the Abrahamic Covenant but rather it was the
Kingdom of Priests, a Holy Nation and my Possession among the Nations Covenant that as the passage clearly below tells us was originally made after God brought Israel out of Egypt. The passage below
Jeremiah 31:31-34: - 31 "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah — 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."
Now the portion in blue does not reflect the meaning of the Hebrew Text in this passage. It is my understanding from the KJV interlinear that it would read like this: -
31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: a covenant like new again/renewed
Where H:2319
חָדָשׁ is understood to have been derived from H:2318
חָדַשׁ which has the meaning of "
to renew, repair" and since both Hebrew root words are very similar and the Hebrew word in this verse is
חֲדָשָֽׁה it is possible that the scholars' bias was towards the Hebrew root H:2319 rather than H:2318.
Lamentations 5:21 certainly speaks about Israel being renewed once again after a period of two days of the Lord/ages/generations: -
Lamentations 5:19-22: -
19 You, O Lord, remain forever;
Your throne from generation to generation.
20 Why do You forget us forever,
And forsake us for so long a time?
21 Turn us back to You, O Lord, and we will be restored;
Renew our days as of old,
22 Unless You have utterly rejected us,
And are very angry with us!
The Jeremiah 31:31-34 passage speaks of the restoring of Israel and Judah back to their days as a youth when God brought them out of Egypt.
not saying that you're right or wrong, but how can Armageddon be, (as you say in about the next 25 years), which is interesting. how did you reach this conclusion?
I could respond with smart answer like, "I understood this from reading the Bible.", but you are wanting to know how the scriptures lead me to this understanding.
The question we must ask ourselves is when did the Gentile language begin to have an impact on the understanding on Israel? The answer is when the LXX first began to be translated in Greek. The following link
Septuagint - Wikipedia tells us that the LXX was written sometime in the third century BC with a definitive indications as follows: -
The full title (
Ancient Greek: Ἡ μετάφρασις τῶν Ἑβδομήκοντα,
lit. 'The Translation of the Seventy') derives from the story recorded in the
Letter of Aristeas that the Hebrew Torah was translated into Greek at the request of
Ptolemy II Philadelphus (
285–247 BCE) by 70 Jewish scholars or, according to later tradition, 72: six scholars from each of the
Twelve Tribes of Israel, who independently produced identical translations.
From my research, I would suggest that the influence of the Gentiles trampling the Sanctuary of God and His Hosts, began around the year 250 BC which is about the time period of when the translation of the Greek text of the Hebrew scriptures began.
Paul in Romans 11:25-26 tells us when translated without bias, that when the fullness in time of the Heathen Gentiles trampling the Sanctuary of God and His Hosts, the Israelites, is completed, that all of Israel will be saved.
Jesus in Matthew 24:32 said: -
Matthew 24:32-33: - 32 "Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
Now unpacking this single verse by itself without contamination from other verses around it, we can discern the message given in this verse.
Metaphorically, the Fig Tree is a reference to the reappearance of Israel as a nation in 1948 when some of Abraham's descendants return to the place where Abraham was living when he was given this prophecy, in their own strength in an attempt to get Closer to God in the mistaken belief that the Land of Canaan was still theirs to possess, and by occupying the land, they were forcing God to act in their favour once more. However, the land had become an idol for the Israelites just as in Jeremiah's day, the Temple was also their idol that they worshipped.
Now from a farmers point of view, when do fig trees begin to bud new leaves, at the beginning of the Spring, and sometimes because of the weather, it can be an early spring, before the end of the Winter Season. In the verse it tells us that when the spring starts that we know within 91 plus days, that the Summer Season of Harvest will begin, when God tells us that He will gather the descendants of Israel to Himself to redeem then and to teach them about the Kingdom of God and His redemption plan for the peoples of the earth. This is where Jeremiah 31:31-34 comes into play.
Now using the above information and a year for a day, in the tradition of Daniel, to calculate when the anticipated end of this present age will be using both pieces of information, Armageddon will occur sometime between 2040-2050 AD where we could average this to 2045 ± 5 years which is around in 25 years' time give or take a year or two or three.
