True, but then God also never told anyone to NOT honor the day of Christ's resurrection.

Christians who love Jesus simply choose to remember and celebrate the most important events in his life; his birth, his death, and his resurrection, those singular historical events upon which our very salvation rests. And to remember and celebrate them in a way that is completely in keeping with the Biblical mode of remembering and celebrating the great works of God ... by fasting and feasting.

This has nothing to do with the resurrection and prophecy foretold there would be this Antichrist power saying it had the authority to make this change:

“And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws” Daniel 7:25

"The Pope has power to change times, to abrogate laws, and to dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ." Decretal De Translat. Episcop. Cap.

"It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe the commandment of the Catholic Church." Priest Brady, in an address, reported in “The Elizabeth, New Jersey News" of March 18, 1903

"Sunday is a Catholic institution, and its claims to observance can be defended only on Catholic principles...From beginning to the end of the scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week, to the first." Catholic Press, Sydney, Australia, August 1900.

“"Protestants accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change. But the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that in observing the Sunday, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the church, the Pope." Our Sunday Visitor February 5, 1950.

So I don't accept the popular theories that have been developed about anti-christ and the tenuous interpretations of highly symbolic prophecies they rely on. Johns' instruction about anti-christ is very clear and straight-forward and completely contradicts the popular theories.

But to say that Christians congregating on Sunday has nothing to do with Jesus' resurrection is a rather extreme denial of facts, including the historical facts of the Gospel.

If <God never told anyone to keep Sunday in honor of the resurrection of Christ> it implies God told everyone <to keep Sunday> but not specifically <in honor of the resurrection of Christ>. From whichever angle one looks at this Hobie declaration, it makes no sense except that it makes no sense.

But then about your reaction to our friend in the cola tin sun-buzzzzingggk-k on the beach...

First your primary objective to insult and condemn with insinuation and seeming word-wasting: <<Christians who love Jesus ...>> Anyone not <choosing> like Pilgrimer <choose> is no Christian who loves Jesus! Man you know your thing!

Now according to Scripture the true reason and way to <<celebrate the great works of God>> is by way of "REMEMBERING" GOD'S LAW TO "REMEMBER (the Sabbath)" for the <greatest> of his works, which has been <<the resurrection of Christ>>——NOT US <<simply choos(ing) to remember and celebrate ... by fasting and feasting>> or in any manner whichever of our own liking AS LONG AS IT IS NOT "according to the Scriptures" or God's Will and Law!

Now according to Scripture the true reason and way to <<celebrate the great works of God>> is by way of "REMEMBERING" GOD'S LAW

"Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout all their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel." EX31:16-17a

Point 1: Sabbath observance is a sign of the Mosaic covenant.

Christians (Jews and Gentiles) are under a New Covenant.

Point 2: Sabbath observance was a sign of the Mosaic covenant made between God and the nation of Israel.

The New Covenant is between God and the body of Christ, Jew and Gentile.

The Mosaic Covenant was made between God and Israel for two purposes:

1) As a means by which to set apart and make holy a people through whom God would bring salvation
2) As a means to foreshadow what salvation is and how it would be accomplished

The purposes for which the Mosaic covenant was made with Israel have been fulfilled.

1) God has accomplished His purposes for setting apart and making holy the nation of Israel ... through Israel has been born the Savior of the world.

2) God has fulfilled everything that the Mosaic Covenant foreshadowed
A) the blessings of the Law have been fulfilled to those who are joint-heirs with Christ
B) the curse of the Law has been fulfilled upon all those guilty of the Law

All men, Jew and Gentile, will no longer be pardoned or condemned based on whether or not they obeyed the commandments of the Law, but by whether or not their names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life:

" And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

In Christ,

100% correct, but by subscribing to the preemptive delusion that Jesus ROSE from the dead on the FIRST Day, Hoh Bee fell for it, I mean, for all this hypocrisy unless the Hoh Bee also is a hypocrite and of course won't show that he's also a hypocrite. That's what <the Protestant mind> seems not to realise but very well realises that <<in observing the Sunday (they - including the Ho Bee) accept the authority of the spokesman for the church, the Pope>> who on the basis of supposedly the Resurrection have changed <<the day for public worship as Sunday rather than Saturday>> and <<warrant(ed) the transfer from the last day of the week, to the first>>.

GOD'S REST BY THE RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ, fraudulently turned over from the Sabbath to Sunday by the pope and his mafia priests and church, was the big CHANGE and FRAUD; not the Good People's rest or the day as such or their worship per se!

"Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout all their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel." EX31:16-17a

Now the same verse a quite different verse:
"Wherefore the [My] children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout all their generations [including the Heathen and Gentiles], for a perpetual [everlasting Covenant of grace and not of punishment]. It is a sign between ME [I-AM THE LORD YOUR GOD] and [including ALL] the [My] children of Israel."

So you reckon the God of the children of Israel has an opponent in the God of the Christian?

"Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath"

Why did the LORD say "Wherefore” in Leviticus 31 and 32?

Because "Wherefore” refers to the idolatry Israel invented instead of FAITH in the True God.

O how NOBLE was their free-will worship! O how powerful the call from the evangelist Aaron! 32:2,3. The people regarded not themselves. Unselfishly they just gave and gave and with lightened heart broke off and parted with their gold. With joy they brought it to the priest. Even women were well-represented. No discriminatory religion accepted or tolerated among these worshippers!

And the priest received all at their hand and fashioned it with skill of the art. United, with one democratic voice they voted: These thy gods o Israel which brought thee out of Egypt.

This was the first reason. The children of Israel transgressed the Commandments graven on the tables of stone THEIR GOD had given them against idolatry, that’s why the LORD GOD said, "Wherefore…”. The LORD GOD said, Because of your other gods you worship so quickly and so easily, you, “the children of Israel, shall keep the Sabbath"; it will help you not to commit the heinous sin of idolatry.

Perhaps some preachers and believers might get thus far in understanding of this Scripture—the holy use of the holy Sabbath Day of the LORD GOD against worshipping other ‘gods’ – idols – in general and in principle— the first principle against is that The LORD GOD OUR GOD”, “IS LORD OF THE SABBATH DAY”. The GOD who is the God of the nation / “children of Israel”, is the God of the children / “People of God”, “Lord of the Sabbath Day”.

But how many of these preachers will tell their congregations, Watch the church that reject the Sabbath of the LORD YOUR GOD— it is the church which worships other gods. And, unavoidably, makes of the day it chooses above the Sabbath of the LORD GOD, their main idol and object of abominable veneration.

But now, NO Christian preachers will tell their congregations that the Christian church that is supposed to worship the Lord of the Sabbath, actually and spiritually worship the Sabbath DAY rather than the Lord of the Sabbath.

Their protest against this accusation comes so vehemently that it can only confirm the truth of the accusation and expose the hypocrisy with which these churches so jealously regard their idol holy (although it is the correct Day and belongs to the Lord). They will so admire and adore the Day they will fall prostrate before it, but will not worship the Lord WHO MADE THE SABBATH DAY BY CHRIST WHO ROSE ON IT FOR THE SALVATION OF TRANSGRESSORS.

Yes, there's no such thing as <a> New Covenant which is God's New Covenant, for God's Covenant which is everlastingly NEW, is the ONLY Covenant of His Grace. It is not <a> covenant among other covenants; it is the ONE Covenant God in the ETERNAL Council of the Full Fellowship of Father Son and Holy Spirit once for all time covenanted in Christ Jesus for all generations of men, Jews and Gentiles.

A singularly sober post from you with which I wish to fully agree, except for the closing remark which properly shows and proves that .. Christians congregating on Sunday have nothing to do with Jesus' Resurrection, but rather illustrate extreme denial of Bible facts, specifically and especially the historical facts of the Gospel. For example, Christians congregating on Sunday have nothing to do with Matthew 27:62 to 28:1-4, "The (Saturday) morning after the Preparation (Friday) .. they sealed the tomb .. but late on the weekly Sabbath mid-afternoon towards (sunset and) the First Day of the week .. the angel of the Lord .. cast the stone from the tomb".

Have you read your Bible, God knew that this attempt to change His holy Sabbath would occur, and the antichrist power behind it:

"And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. " Daniel 7:25

"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them." Acts 20:28-30

Yes, long ago God predicted that, from within the church itself, misguided men would arise who would attempt to change His holy law. So the prophecy was true, and it has come to fruition as the Sabbath and those who kept it were swept away, and a substitute put in.

Here are some statements showing which show who the Protestant churches are following and its not the Bible:

"The Church, on the other hand, after changing the day of rest from the Jewish Sabbath, or seventh day of the week, to the first, made the Third Commandment refer to Sunday as the day to be kept holy as the Lord's Day. The Council of Trent (Sess. VI, can. xix) condemns those who deny that the Ten Commandments are binding on Christians." The Catholic Encyclopedia, Commandments of God, Volume IV, © 1908 by Robert Appleton Company, Online Edition © 1999 by Kevin Knight, Nihil Obstat - Remy Lafort, Censor Imprimatur - +John M. Farley, Archbishop of New York, page 153.

''The [Roman Catholic] Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter the Seventh-day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant.'' The Catholic Universe Bulletin, August 14, 1942, p. 4.

"All of us believe many things in regard to religion that we do not find in the Bible. For example, nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath Day, that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the Church outside the Bible." The Catholic Virginian, "To Tell You The Truth,&#8221; Vol. 22, No. 49 (Oct. 3, 1947).

"... you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify." The Faith of Our Fathers, by James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore, 88th edition, page 89. Originally published in 1876, republished and Copyright 1980 by TAN Books and Publishers, Inc., pages 72-73.

'Deny the authority of the Church and you have no adequate or reasonable explanation or justification for the substitution of Sunday for Saturday in the Third - Protestant Fourth - Commandment of God... The Church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.'' Catholic Record, September 1, 1923.

"But since Saturday, not Sunday, is specified in the Bible, isn't it curious that non-Catholics who profess to take their religion directly from the Bible and not the Church, observe Sunday instead of Saturday? Yes, of course, it is inconsistent; but this change was made about fifteen centuries before Protestantism was born, and by that time the custom was universally observed. They have continued the custom, even though it rests upon the authority of the Catholic Church and not upon an explicit text in the Bible. That observance remains as a reminder of the Mother Church from which the non-Catholic sects broke away - like a boy running away from home but still carrying in his pocket a picture of his mother or a lock of her hair." The Faith of Millions

Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.

Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday. -Rev. Peter Geiermann C.SS.R., The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50

Question: Should not the Protestant doubt when he finds that he himself holds tradition as a guide?
Answer: Yes, if he would but reflect that he has nothing but Catholic Tradition for keeping the Sunday holy;
... Controversial Catechism by Stephen Keenan, New Edition, revised by Rev. George Cormack, published in London by Burns & Oates, Limited - New York, Cincinnati, Chicago: Benzinger Brothers, 1896, pages 6, 7.

Directly after _you_ quote, the Sabbath is "sign between me (God) and the children of Israel", you take advantage and change the Sabbath into <<a sign of the Mosaic covenant.>> Who are you? The 'little horn' to "change times and Law of God"?
Besides that, I showed you before, I told you to give the Scripture that says, <<Sabbath observance>>. Sabbath observance is the work of men; making the Sabbath "a perpetual covenant .. a sign between ME", "LORD of the Sabbath" and "the People of God", "the children of Israel", is the PREROGATIVE OF THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.
I ask you again, Who are you? The 'little horn' who "thinks" he can "change times and Law of God"? You have the surprise of your life coming, BIG MOUTH.

What, dear Hobie, is, <<the antichrist power behind it>>... the Antichrist's "thinking to change times and laws"? IT IS THE "POWER OF HIS CHRIST'S RESURRECTION" FRAUDULENTLY claimed by Antichrist for its fraudulent day of worship, Sunday!

There's the 'Sabbath-Sunday issue' IN A NUTSHELL. The Law isn't first "according to the Scriptures", but is lagging far behind "the Power of Jesus' Resurrection" : "ON THE SABBATH" "according to the Scriptures"!

We must not veil what the Word of God has. This verse comes to mind:

2 Corinthians 4:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Light of Christ’s Gospel

1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Satan hides what is true by showing falsehoods. He keeps us from seeing the treasure of the gospel, with lies and traditions of man. But Gods Word is true and with the help of the Holy Spirit it manifests itself in our conscience and shines for us to see, and walk in the light.

It is bad to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and ALL OTHER Christians (Christians, no doubt!), that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday as or for the day of the week upon which Jesus their Lord and Saviour ROSE FROM THE DEAD. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe Sunday in remembrance of his Resurrection, follow the teaching, and observe the commandment, of the Catholic Church.

There is nothing wrong to unveil the truth, especially for other Christians, as only Satan wants to keep us from Gods truth. Jesus identifies what Satan wants and what Satan uses:
John 8:44 King James Version (KJV)
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Satan wants us to stumble and fall down the path to destruction. His method: the lie. Satan uses it to bring death, physical, spiritual and eternal, through deception.

Based on the gospel narratives, how can we confirm that the resurrection happened on Sunday morning as opposed to Saturday night? Both are considered the 1st day of the week.

Undeniable aimed at me. I have never received another sort of response from any Seventh day Adventist. Judgement day shall reveal. God knows. I thank the Lord for this, your, answer for the belief that is in you; it truly shows.

First, there is ONE <gospel narrative> which <<confirm that the resurrection happened on...>>, but not that it <happened on Sunday morning> or <Saturday night>, but, "in the end(ing) of the SABBATH as it began to dawn ("the SABBATH mid-afternoon") TOWARDS the First Day of the week". Matthew 28:1.

Or like the SDA MORE THAN ANY church, Protestant or Catholic, INSIST ON SUNDAY FOR THE HONOUR RECEIVED OF HAVING BEEN THE DAY THAT GOD RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD, AND IN IT, RESTED ON... insist on, and CURSE to hell the devil that may cross examine their favourite doctrinal idol. Refer Hobie's post 457 above.
