I agree. We need to learn the lesson given to us in the death of the pastor who announced publicly: "God is greater than the Coronavirus". Then he contracted the virus and it killed him! God may be greater, but that pastor wasn't! He tempted God, and paid the price.

So if our friend thinks its a hoax, why is he not getting close up to those infected so he can get a good spray of the droplets and then it can be proved one way or the other! But my guess is that he is hiding at home in self-isolation, not letting on that it is frightening him just as it is with many of his fellow Britons, seeing that it is killing so many in the UK and USA.

What do you mean by hoax? We live in a small county in North Carolina. My brother tested positive a couple days ago. He lives with my mother who is 89. And his girlfriend tested positive also.

A couple miles from my husbands parents home, a nursing home has had an outbreak. Countless cases. As our area is now rising suddenly in new cases daily.

Don’t think it is an hoax. Although I do think we hear very little about the good cases. My brother is not in the best of health and so far he is okay. (Although 103 temp). Realize that could change. Worried about my mother as she is vulnerable.

My friend works at a nursing home and two have died from Covid19 there and another tested positive. A lot of my friends are nurses. Though I believe the media makes things worse then what things are, and this is going to be used as an excuse to take more liberties away, it definitely is real. Just depends on where you live really.

I don't think he is saying the virus is a hoax but rather there are false reports of it for the purpose of weaponizing it against Trump and using it as a political tool. For example there was discussion about New York's numbers being the highest in the US in COVID-19 cases....that the hospitals are over run and there isn't enough ventilators...etc...
Truth is they have nurses on call due to low patient count.....the number of deaths related to heart disease, diabetes and so forth have gone down dramatically while the virus deaths have increased in multiples....so the hoax is about false reports on how many people have actually died because of the virus.
Just last night a lady was on the news sharing her story of going to the ER...being hospitalized....told she tested positive for the virus....was in for a week and treated for pneumonia. She got discharged and on Sunday received a call from the laboratory telling her that she tested negative for the virus. So basically, the hospital drew her blood and diagnosed her with the virus before they even got the lab results back.

I don't believe he thinks the virus itself is a hoax, since it is a virus.

However, this viral pandemic is being used as a hoax to put fear and panic into the hearts and minds of the Western nations (primarily).
The death rate for coronavirus is turning out to be no different than that of flu. And while the flu death rate was generally ignored (year after year), this death rate was manipulated to TAKE CONTROL and to INFRINGE ON LIBERTIES while destroying economies. And the attacks on Christians and churches has even come to the attention of the Justice Department.

1. The so-called experts (hacks) started out with predicting millions of deaths, which have turned out to be thousands, and in realty even less, because the numbers are being deliberately fudged at the behest of CDC hacks. Many called for the firing of Fauci and Birx, but Trump failed to follow through (which is very surprising).

2. The death rates should rightly be related to the corresponding populations, so for the USA for example, the death rate is miniscule.
Even as a percentage related to confirmed cases, it is comparable to flu.

3. The field hospital in Seattle was dismantled without any patients ever going there, and the Navy hospital ships sent to New York and Los Angeles sat virtually idle. So much for mass hospitalizations.

4. Governor Cuomo of New York state made a hue and cry about lack of ventilators and then proclaimed that he did not need any more of those *creatures*. Other governors politicized the pandemic and tried to manipulate the narrative to blame Trump and mock at the anti-malarial/antibiotic treatments, instead of blaming the evil Democrats who forced America to watch their kangaroo courts and sham Impeachment Hoax at the very moment when the virus started coming out of China.

5. Furthermore, the ventilators themselves were found to be exacerbating health issues for patients, instead of relieving them, while it became evident that masks could not prevent infections.

6. There were no deaths in a huge number of states for a very long time (if you discount California, New York, Texas, and Florida). Had interstate travel been totally banned from the get-go, chances are those states would have had minimal or no infections and zero deaths.

I do understand that in times like these there are always the doom and gloom merchants. Although in NZ we have had few deaths and just 1300 cases, the doom and gloom has come from the commentators talking about the effects of our lock down on the economy and future employment.

I get a flu injection every year, and when a vaccine comes out for the Coronavirus, I will be right there up at the front of the line!

Being over 70, the virus is more dangerous for me than for younger people, so I think taking extra precautions to stop the spread of it is very wise, and we are lucky here in NZ that there has been no general community outbreak. Even when he lockdown is over and we return to something like normal again, our borders will be closed to overseas visitors for quite a while yet to stop any new cases coming into the country.

Actually, being a small country like NZ, it is much easier to have containment measures, than a larger country like the USA.

Yes, I think that any strain of influenza is dangerous for an elderly person with pre-existing health conditions.

Other than that, I can't comment on the rest of your post because I don't live over where you are and therefore don't have information except through the news that we get down here in Upsidedown Land.

I didn't see it myself....in any case....no it is not a hoax as far as people are dying....yes there are false reports as to who is dying from the virus.

And think about this -- Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) has affected Australia to the point where they have fined (or threatened to fine) a doctor $13,000 for administering hydroxycholoroquine which Trump recommended (and which is being deliberately attacked by the media because when combined with azithromycin (Z-Pak), an antibiotic to treat secondary infections, and zinc sulfate, is has almost a 100% rate of recovery).

And there in lies the basis for this entire scam right there. Doctors are being told to just write "Covid-19" on peoples death certificates as the cause without a shred of proof. This is what the CDC says is acceptable for reporting Covid-19 on death certificates.

Normally, when a cause of death is reported, its not based on assumptions, but straight medical facts. The CDC is bending the rules for Covid-19, and this is why the numbers are being artificially inflated, its a complete hoax.

The CDC is not "bending the rules" - I think you have an exaggerated idea of the accuracy of death certification in normal times. How many people get a post-mortem? I don't know what the exact percentage is, but it's a minority of deaths. But without a post-mortem, the "certified" cause of death is nothing more than educated guesswork on the doctor's part. Assumptions have to be made; usually they are reasonable ones.
