Why, would Christ join Himself to a harlot?? Just to add to the matter, being in church calling yourself "christian:", does not mean you are one of His. You have to be in Him, and so few choose Him over religion.

I cannot say I agree with your interpretation of Revelation and the Harlot, I believe it to be something else.

But I do agree with you that we must choose Christ over religion.

@mjrhealth there are Christians in just about every country, some might be persecuted, but there are still Christians in most if not every country on planet earth.

That is true, what has that to do with 'catholic' or anything else. And do you define "christian" as "christianity" defines itself, or by our Lords definition, they dont agree.

I should add, if mens religions where of Him they would not be going out backwards..

Exactly, what denomination can we fully agree with? That's why I am non-denominational.
I don't really understand what non-denominational means.
Does this mean you don't go to church?
Or that you don't have a home church?

Truther....
First of all there's no such thing as the Roman Catholic Church.
There is the CC of the Roman Rite.

Second, if you study some church history, you'll find that only one church goes all the way back to the Apostolic times, and this will be the CC.

Now...we could debate if the Orthodox Church MIGHT be the original church because they broke off in the year 1,000...but that's a totally different discussion.

Posting incorrect information will not gain you any respect.

BTW, I am Protestant, but history is history.
I also have had problems with BOL and believe he is a terrible example for Catholics.
I like BOL.

He is Roman Catholic, which is headquartered in ROME.

If you take away Rome from the RCC, you have nothing left.

Also, any Church, especially the RCC, that skips Acts 2:38, is not Apostolic, nor are they original in any way, shape or form.

All Acts skippers are extra Biblical movements.

They have no connection to the Acts Church.

I have put TWO posters on IGNORE... because truly... I don't have the patience or desire to argue with people who are ARROGANT and RUDE.
I made my presence known on this thread for that very reason... certain people were speaking in a very unbecoming way... YOURSELF included... however... I confronted the RUDEST one.... all to find out that this is nothing more than a JOKE... of which you have defended. This is what we call a DRAMA FEST. Sadly... the real issue of TRUE CHRISTIANITY simply goes out the window when people type without reflecting on WHO they are typing ABOUT.

If you think you will ever change the mind of arrogance... you are sadly mistaken... PRIDE never allows itself to be corrected...

You have taught me that it is not worth sticking my neck out for others in venues like this... People are accountable for what they believe and how they speak... IT is GOD who changes hearts.. not man.
Topics like this that go sideways.... because of one or two taking over is something I still don't understand.... I GUESS in a way ... the Forums are nothing more than a game.

The attitude in this thread does NOT at all reflect a healthy discussion... but rather a very bad example of what humans with no manners LOOK like. It reminds me of two rabid dogs foaming at the mouth... To a new believer looking in ( which is what I care about... ) this thread would be appalling. People who call themselves Christians... but attack one another in such disrespectful and condescending ways are truly simply DISOBEDIENT and PRIDEFUL people.

@Truther you have taught me much. @BreadOfLife
Let me at least teach you this my brother...soul winning involves tearing down and rebuilding folks' presuppositions.

It can get rough.

I won 5 families to the Acts church(doctrines and experience) in the early 90's.

They were 5 biological brothers I worked with that were of a certain persuasion that all thought they were saved, but were Acts skippers.

We had a daily spiritual slugfest, but after almost 1 year, they all came into the Church and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost(and families), and all got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins.

Their pastor even called the new pastor and asked why half of his congregation left to attend the new one.

But, before this great movement began, those brothers were calling me the devil etc.

Now they are so glad I met them.

Whew, soul winning is work, and not pretty.

Oh, make NO mistake – I AM Roman Catholic. But that’s NOT the name of the Church, Einstein.
It’s the Liturgical Rite.

Do your homework, dude.
Ignorant and clueless is NO way to go through life, son . . .
Ahhh.

An admission that an American citizen is a ROMAN Catholic.

Now, everyone observe and remember that admission.

When I call you guys the RCC, be proud of your ROMAN hieracrchy.

You may not have Jesus Christ, but some big statues of him.

How do you determine who is a lost soul?

Is their some criteria?

You can use @BreadOfLife or me as an example. What doctrine do we hold that makes us a lost soul?

Thank you in advance..... Mary
Anyone that skipped Acts 2:38 has no baptism of the Holy Ghost, nor remission of sins per water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.

They are merely observers of someone else's salvation.

Oh no!

You are an Acts skipper too?

Please, not you too!

Did you know that the early church was headquartered in Rome because Jerusalem was devastated
in the year 70AD?

Should we call the Nazarene Church the Youngstown Nazarene Church?
or any of the other denominations by the location of their offices?

Yes. All denominations have offices.
Surprise.

You can not like history and so keep away from it.
That is your prerogative.
But that does not give you the right to misrepresent history.

As to Acts 2:38...what exactly does it say that does not agree with what the Catholic Church teaches?

@Truther you aren't suggesting that one must have the evidence of speaking in tongues to be born again are you?

I can speak in tongues, but I can tell you it is not a requirement for Salvation.

11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Yes, I highly suggest it.

It is how God speaks to His people.

At least, this is what God says.

Peter, Paul and the rest were headquartered in Rome?

Or was a latter group of individuals?

I am a sister... not a brother... a fiesty one who doesn't do ATTITUDE... or RUDENESS very well...
So... I'm not sure what an ACTS skipper is... but I am going to take the liberty of being THIS THREAD SKIPPER... and let you get on with the business of soul winning.... I know what messy and not pretty is... I have done a lot of street ministry... with the homeless... and the drug addicts... They do not in the least OFFEND me ... but I cannot say the same for Christians like BOL.
Now then... Please just allow me to skip out of here... and never have to return... LOL

My apologies for getting your gender wrong.

The Acts skipper thing I was referring to is those that skip Acts 2:38 and find salvation through another method Peter did not offer in the verse.

Acts skippers think they found a fire escape, a back door into the kingdom of God that makes them free of this....

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

I don't think I put my gender on here ... because you are the second person to assume I am male... NO BIGGIE...
I can stand up to the biggest of bullies... Anyways... Blessings on you Truther... It's been interesting. LOL
I will however take a pass on your style of WITNESSING... I like my style better. ;)

No, neither.
The majority of church groups I’ve ever been in , 56 years has been undenominational...
No boarders no divides , no “pet doctrine “ to follow ...

Denominations put a fence around themselves , none denominational means no pet doctrine.
Actually this site is nondenominational , we all gather here , no denomination is “top dog”.

Well, I for one can say I always thought you were a woman by how you write! Little lamb, aww. Just a feeling I get sometimes when someone does not put their gender down :)
