I am sure it was not suppose to be built that way . but typical of what I have come to expect working in the industry .This is probably the most far out building in Melbourne at the moment
Yes I was born in Brisbane and moved in 1973 came back 1989 Gold Coast and had no problems finding my way around in both, but nowadays I am not so sure of where I truly am at times getting about, should I be in this lane or that or is this the turn off or is it the next one, what's this ? oh no a bloody tunnel. even at 8yo I knew everywhere Brisbane Gold Coast.
I do like looking at old photos of such places, I wish I hung on to all the old UBD maps books, I would get the latest UBD and they were not good enough for me as many of the roads were not on it yet where I had to got to work.
I have an interest in the old highways as well, that I remember driving north. not to mention the tracks that the Pioneers travelled in all of Australia that's very interesting to me.
My dads side moved out to the Darling Downs 1863 and before they had the old road built out to Warwick there was a cable winder on top of the hill some miles north of the road you go up nowadays.
Another place we lived was a mansion that was on the original old township that not many know was the first settlement and a cemetery down the back paddock with the old bell pull as well on some craves. that cemetery is not known by most at all, they built a new one and called it the same name. it was built just off the highway but a new highway got built and the old snakes in and out of the new that was built 1975 I think.
I ride a dirt bike and got around to all old places that once existed and old abandoned cemetery's way off the roads.
Remember the Leyland brothers adventures.
